Lixiss shuffled her way to Mika's front door. Joanos had picked up on movement outside but remembering Kaze's warning he made sure the door was locked and waited to see what the person was going to do.

Kaze only needed ten more minutes before he gets out, he should be able to hold on for that long, right?

Lixiss tried the front door, finding it locked she banged a couple of times before stopping. Hearing the banging, Saavi jumping up from her hiding spot and ran to the front of the house. Seeing Saavi, Joanos held up his finger, signaling her to keep quiet then pointed towards the front door.

Nodding in understanding, she ducked behind the couch, as Joanos retook his position by the door.

Lixiss smiled, did Mikaela really think she could hide from her? She is the Udava's clan only young miss, no locked door can keep her out!

Raising her hands, Lixiss let her gift of fire eat the solid ironwood door up.

When Joanos saw this green fire consume the entrance, he knew who their intruder was.

Saavi couldn't believe there is still a person who can control green fire. Green fire was the things of legends to the younger Faes, most people nowadays can only create and control orange and maybe the yellow flames.

When the fire disappeared, Lixiss stood in the middle of the doorway, proud of her work. Stepping into the house, Lixiss came face to face with Joanos.

"Joanos..."

"Lixiss." Joanos couldn't stand to see his once bride-to-be anymore than he yearns to see her mother.

"You here to protect her, aren't you!"

"Lixiss."

"You're supposed to be mine, everyone knows this but you! What is it about her that makes you give up what we have? I am good to yo-"

"Lixiss!" Joanos shouted as he was unable to take any more of her ranting.

"You've been good to me? Have you forgotten how you and your mother ruined my life! I would be a fool to marry you! I rather die protecting a stranger than spend my life with you!" Joanos finally let go of the words he has been holding back for years.

"Joanos..."

"Every night, since my clan was murdered, I have wished you died a horrible death!...I've enjoyed watching you torment yourself with drugs, I even helped you keep your secret just so you can kill yourself faster! And still, you can't get it through your head! I... loathe... you!"

The living room fell silent for a while before Lixiss lifts up her head and looked into Joanos' eyes.

"Fine, if that is the way you want it, that is the way you will have it...I should have listened to my mother in the first place...and killed you."

Lixiss raised her hands and threw green fireball after green fireball in Joanos' direction.

Saavi decided to let the old lovers have their quarrel while she checks in her young miss.

Soon the whole house smelled of smoke, and charred remains of furniture covered the room.

"Is this all you got? You need to do a lot more to kill me!" Joanos gloated as Lixiss panted heavily. If this was the Lixiss before her drug use, he wouldn't have been her match, but this Lixiss is only half of what she used to be.

"Argh! Stay still!" Lixiss yelled as Joanos avoided another one of her fireballs.

Sweating profusely and eyes getting blurry, Lixiss couldn't understand why she couldn't kill Joanos. He was never this strong, she should have been able to kill him ten times over by now.

Seeing her get more and more frustrated as she got tired, Joanos decided to put an end to Lixiss' misery.

Coming up behind her, Joanos raised his sword to chop off her head when Saavi's shout stopped him.

"Watch out!" Saavi had checked on Mika and Kaze, when she saw everything was okay she walked back out to see Joanos about to cut off Lixiss' head, only Lord Kendel was standing right behind him.

Joanos turned around to where Saavi was pointing and saw three wind blades about to hit him.

Dodging to the side, Joanos evaded the attacks. Standing up, he heard a scream come from Lixiss.

"Aaah!" The attack that was meant for him continued on and hit Lixiss instead. Three crimson slashes covered Lixiss' back.

Lixiss managed to turn around to see her uncle and her mother, carried between two men, walk into the house.

Kendel didn't pay his niece any mind as he entered.

"Well, well, well, it seems our fates have yet to dissolve." Kendel smiled, who would have known the alternate route to the rear entrance passes next to Mika's residence.

Joanos looked at Saavi, "How much longer til Kaze wakes up?"

"Two minutes."

"We need to hold off until then, can you do it?"

"Doesn't matter if I can or can't, I have to," Saavi said, looking into Kendel's leering stare.

From the time they left Tasar's office, Kendel couldn't stop thinking about Saavi's gifts. If he could have a lady like this working for him, he could rule the whole Steppes.

And now that fate has bought her to him once again, how could he think of leaving without her.

"My dear, shall we pick up where we left off?" Just as the words left his mouth, Kendel sent a gust of wind to knock Saavi off her feet.

When Joanos went to help her but got held back by two of Kendel's men.

Kaze awoke to the sounds of crashes and swords clashing together. Jumping out of the healing pod, he looked over at Mika first, finding she was alright he opens the door to investigate.

Witnessing the battle in front of him, Kaze tried to activate his enchantments placed around the house but Lixiss burnt them to a crisp during her attacks at Joanos. Left with no other choice, Kaze put a charm on Mika's bed for protection and grabbed his sword to join the fight.
