Barked Fire excitedly at the frogs! There were so many delicious looking candies there, how can he not be excited?!
Licking his lips, he immediately dashed towards the closest Brutal Frog. Before the frog could even react, It had it's neck bitten. Gurgling sounds could be heard from it's mouth before it's eyes turned lifeless.
After that, Fire ripped off it's legs and arms, chewing on them like gum before swallowing them down. Seeing such a scene, Wang Tao had a wry smile on his face.
'It's all her fault for secretely treating him to frog legs back then..' muttered Wang Tao to himself as he thought back to a girl's silouethe from his memories.
'I wonder what happened to her..is she dead? Or did she survive this calamity..? What about them..."
'Your familiar has leveled up!'
A pleasant surprise for Wang Tao as he heard the voice, waking him up trom his memories. He speculated already that since he can level up - so can his familiars - but it was just a theory in the past.
'But why am i still level 1...' thought to himself before shaking his head.
Now was not the time to think about that. There were still hundreds of Brutal Frogs surrounding them, being lost in thought was similar to asking to get killed in such a situation.
"Fire! Come here!" said Wang Tao to Fire. After leveling up, Fire's Strenght stat gained 2 additional points while on Agility he gained only 1, becoming stronger and faster!
Hearing his Master's order, Fire reluctantly looked at the other frogs before going to his side. After forming a contract with him, Fire could easily understand his orders better than in the past!
The situation for the other men, however, was grim.
Once the Brutal Frogs jumped on the bridge, they went on a killing spree. After a few passer-by were killed, the people evacuating became chaotic. Under the mad run of the people, there were many elderly and women who ended up trampled to death under their feet as the men ignored everything and kept running towards the outskirts of the city.
The policemen themselves could not be bothered about the people anymore. Despite being armed with a lot of heavy weaponry they soon discovered a major problem.
The weapons posed almost no threat to the creatures! Shooting whole cartridges of bullets just to realize that the frogs only had some red marks - with no scratches on them. Normally, a bullet would be enough to kill a human, hell, a whole cartridge could easily finish off an elephant, so why were these damnable things so strong?
However, there were a few people better off than the rest. Between the people that were together with Wang Tao inside the building, some of them acquired powers or weapons from monsters, allowing them to fight back.
Fireballs, Ice spikes and Earth Spikes were the most common seen spells that Wang Tao saw most people have. The spells started to rain on the frogs, but not all of them hit their targets. A dozen frogs died, but many more jumped on the bridge, turning the scalpes of the men numb with fear.
Seeing the situation worsening, Wang Tao pulled off his newly acquired Pistol before aiming at a Brutal Frog.
As the bullet hit it's target - blood splattered in the air before the frog died on the spot.
'Looks like only weapons from those boxed and melee weapons work against these creatures' said Wang Tao softly when he came upon this realization.
"Don't use normal weapons! Use knifes / baton sticks or any other melee weapon to deal with them!try your best to dodge their tongue and you'll easily kill them!" shouted Wang Tao at the men
The men that were in the same room as him immediately understood what he meant and armed with random melee weapons, they soon took action. As soon as the policemen that were using heavy weaponry heard Wang Tao, they completely ignored him. If heavy weaponry doesn't work, how are some stupid knifes and melee weapons supposed to work?! It doesn't make sense, right? However, they soon saw a scene where a man with a steel pipe rod stabbed a frog to death, before lifting the frog still struck by the steel pipe high in the air before laughing uprariously!
"So this is how Lancelot felt when he was killing his enemies, huh! Come, bitches, your daddy will have skewered frogs for dinner tonight, hahaha!" laughed the man uprariously at his deed.
Seeing such a scene baffled the policemen, but they immediately reacted.
One of the policemen immediately unsheathed a knife from his belt before throwing it at a frog! The knife easily dug into it's body just like cutting into tofu, killing it in one blow. Another policeman used his Baton Stick to smash a frog right on it's head, caving it's head inward. The others also used whatever things could be found on the floor such as rocks, bricks, fire extinguishers to kill the frogs.
The most impressive one was the Police Officer Lady as she wielded two knives in both hands before roaming around, mercilessly killing the frogs. The Tongues aimed at her were easily dodged. It was just like watching a fairy dancing in a pure rain of blood. Her actions stunned the people present, as her fellow policemen gave her thumbs up, cheering from the side.
"We can't lose to them! Fire!" said Wang Tao as he saw the people working together to deal with this threat.
Not wanting to fall behind the others, Wang Tao started shooting the frogs in sight, while Fire roamed around going on a killing spree while eating all the legs of the frogs he killed.
There were many inexperienced men amongst the fighting crowd, while there were many others that were afraid of danger. However, no matter what, the situation changed when the people worked together, helping each other fight the same enemy. The human could easily be described as one of the most flexibel creatures on the planet. Even if a man has never seen blood in his life or engaged in a fight, if he was ever attacked and put into a life and death situation, his instincts would easily take over and turn him into a merciless killing machine similar to that of a beast.
Not long after, the fight has finally ended. Of the 20 policemen that protected the bridge , only 13 survived while the others died miserable deaths. None of the men that died had an intact corpse as most of them were missing body parts..
The people that were in the same room as Wang Tao suffered even heavier casualties since only 8 managed to survive and they were the only ones who left a deep impression on him.
Truth being told, there could have been less casualties if the people worked together from the very beginning. A lot of men deserted and the chaos created by the men running easily disrupted the fight from the very beginning which added to the death count by a lot.
"Thank you very much for your help" said the police lady as she turned to look in Wang Tao's direction
If it wasn't for him shouting to them to change weapons at that time, even more deaths would have followed behind! The police officer lady's eyes softened for a moment as she looked at the young man, before turning back to her usual indifferent form.
"You're welcome" said Wang Tao as he saw the change in her attitude.
"What are you gonna do now? There's no one to block your path anymore" asked her another question.
"Why do i have to tell you that?"
Seeing his lack of respect the woman furrowed her brows, but did not comment. She then looked at the pistol in his hands. Despite her and the other policemen shooting heavy weaponry like crazy , none managed to damage the frogs, but surprisingly the pistol from this young man's hands could do that and not only did he not need a lot of bullets, he only needed one!
"Where did you get it?" said the woman trying to look as friendly as possible
However, Wang Tao did not answer. Yes, they might have just fought together on the same side, but that does not mean he should tell her everything! He still, remembered hat just a few moments she almost killed him together with the others because he didn't want to yield to her!
A low sigh escaped the woman's mouth as she looked at the young man in front of her who kept his silence. Of course she understood why he would refuse to do that, that's why she did not pursue the matter anymore.
It was then that Fire came beside Wang Tao wagging his tail happily, dragging a metallic case with his jaw before putting it in front of him.
Seeing his proud expression and dignified look, Wang Tao did not know wether to laugh or to cry.
"Praise me, human!" was the first thought he had in mind as he looked at him
With a press from the button in the middle , the metallic box opened once more. Such a scene greatly startled the woman – what's this box?
In the middle of the box stood an ancient book exuding an air of time as if it has drifted in space for a very long time. As soon as Wang Tao saw this, he picked it up excitedly. Looking at it, information poured inside his mind.
"Body Strenghtening Skill. Once activated, the user gains 10% increase in all stats for a small period of time."
Right away, he tried to learn it – but his happy demenaor turned gloomy all of a sudden as he realized that the skill book is incompatible with his class.
"Damnit!" roared Wang Tao in annoyance, startling the woman greatly.
