Chapter 3: My downtown 2-bedrooms and one living room appartment (2)

Jiang Baiyun was home in her apron and cooking breakfast. When she was about to flip the fried eggs in the pan, the doorbell suddenly rang.

”Coming!” Jiang Baiyun shouted, and hurriedly turned off the fire and went to open the door.

The door opened, and there was a man and a woman standing in the doorway, with dumbfounded expressions at the sight of Jiang Baiyun in an apron holding a spatula. Both sides fell into a strange silence.

In the end, Jiang Baiyun took the lead to break the deadlock. She asked carefully: “…is this the property management?”

Hey, shouldn’t the landlord be the one to pay the property management fee?

Hearing this, Chu Yunhan’s face immediately turned black and wanted to roar at Jiang Baiyun-he knew that this woman would never stop seeking her own death! Ever so vicious, he shouldn’t have listened to Lan’er !

As for Shui Lan’er, looking at Jiang Baiyun’s apron and spatula in her hand, her eyes suddenly turned red. She bit her lip and whispered, “Xiao Yun…you…are you having such a hard time right now?”

Ah? Jiang Baiyun was all confused-did the original owner know these two?

”Uh, it’s okay…” Jiang Baiyun had no choice but to answer vaguely, “Well, do you guys want to come in and sit down?”

It didn’t look like they were here to seek revenge, and Jiang Baiyun couldn’t keep them standing at the door.

After letting the man and woman sit casually, Jiang Baiyun ran into the kitchen and brandished her spatula to fry some more eggs. She couldn’t be blamed for not considering the possibility of them being the protagonists. In her subconscious mind, the male and female lead would want to steer far away from her, why would they even come to knock on her door.

Shui Lan’er and Chu Yunhan were sitting side by side at the table, their position allowed them to see Jiang Baiyun in the kitchen. Looking at her skilfully cooking, Shui Lan’er, who had always been sentimental, was even more upset.

She whispered to Chu Yunhan: “Yunhan, look at Xiao Yun, how hard it is to live after the family went bankrupt. I remember that she used to live in one of those one-storey villas with a garden, but now she actually moved into such a small house like this… And she even cooks for herself.”

Shui Lan’er tightened her fist over her chest, her eyes filled with tears. The more she spoke the sadder she became, “She used to eat in Michelin three -star restaurants, if it didn’t suit her appetite, she will throw a tantrum. Oh my God, Yunhan, I feel my heart hurting so badly, Xiao Yun is too pitiful.”

Chu Yunhan hurriedly pulled Shui Lan’er into his arms, and whispered in comfort: “Lan’er, you’re just too kind, such a woman is not worthy of our sympathy! If you ask me, it would be considered benevolent for us to give her some money.”

After saying that, the two looked up and saw Jiang Baiyun standing at the door of the kitchen with two plates in her hands.

Seeing the two giving her such strange looks, Jiang Baiyun could only reveal an awkward but polite smile as she raised the plates in her hands, “…Uh…do you guys eat fried eggs? I made it myself, sprinkled with black pepper.” T/N: Can’t imagine what fried eggs sprinkled with black pepper taste like ‘-‘ /

Shui Lan’er looked genuinely moved by Jiang Baiwan, and she even started to cry. Chu Yunhan on the side suddenly became angry. He pointed at Jiang Baiyun’s nose and said, “Jian Baiyun! Don’t think you can get our forgiveness by selling this oh-so-miserable act! Don’t even think about it!”

  Jiang Baiyun:? ? ?

Being pointed at and scolded for no reason, even someone as easy going and cautious as Jiang Baiyun couldn’t help getting angry. She put the plate down on the table, frowned and rudely retorted: “Who do you think you are? I was kind enough to let you in and invite you to breakfast, how did it suddenly become my fault?”

Come on, let’s hurt each other! She, Jiang Baiyun, is not afraid!

Sure enough, the man who looked like a dog out of his leash seemed to be even angrier. He glared at her as he was ready to retort back but the corner of his sleeve was tugged at by Shui Lan’er on his side.

Shui Lan’er timidly said to Chu Yunhan: “Yunhan, you promised me.”

After hearing Shui Lan’er’s words, Chu Yunhan took a deep breath to press down his bellyful of anger. He said in a calm tone, “Jiang Baiyun, we just came to see how you’re doing today. Since you’re still alive, then we won’t bother you.”

With that, Chu Yunhan tightened his grip on Shui Lan’er’s wrist and tried to pull her away. Jiang Baiyun was reminded by Shui Lan’er’s “Yunhan” just now, and immediately guessed the identities of the two people in front of her: “Chu Yunhan!”

Chu Yunhan paused. He turned his head back to Jiang Baiyun with cold eyes, “What else do you want?”

Before Jiang Baiyun could say anything, Chu Yunhan interrupted her: “I will never like you. I already have Lan’er, so you don’t need to say anything more.”

  Jiang Baiyun:… …

”No, I just wanted to ask,” Jiang Baiyun scratched the back of her head, “What are you two doing here?”

The protagonists made the effort to look up her current address, and came knocking on her door. No matter how you look at it, something is wrong, isn’t it?

Shui Lan’er looked as if she was about to cry again, her big doe eyes teared up again. She pitifully looked at Jiang Baiyun and softly said: “Xiao Yun, don’t be afraid, we won’t into trouble you. We already know what happened to you, I… I don’t know what you think, but in fact I’ve always still considered you a friend.”

After saying that, Shui Lan’er took two steps towards Jiang Baiyun and reached out to hold her hand: “Xiao Yun, let us reconcile, let the previous unpleasantness and sorrows all go with the wind, OK? It’s already a thing of the past. As long as you ask, I will definitely help you as much as I can.”

Under Chu Yunhan’s murdering gaze, Jiang Baiyun subconsciously took a step back and avoided Shui Lan’er’s hand. She laughed dryly. Before she had time to speak, she saw Shui Lan’er ,who was originally holding the back of the chair because of her sadness, suddenly withdraw her hand and wince in pain.

”Lan’er, Lan’er, what’s wrong with you, Lan’er!” Chu Yunhan pulled over Shui Lan’er’s hand. He glanced at it and said anxiously: “Why is it bleeding? Did Jiang Baiyun hurt you again?” Chu Yunhan then looked up and glared daggers at Jiang Baiyun.

Jiang Baiyun: …People obediently sit at home and pots come from the sky. Why was he determined to make her carry a pot today?

”Yunhan, Yunhan, don’t do this,” Shui Lan’er sobbed, “I just accidentally got stabbed by a wooden thorn on the back of the chair. You don’t have to worry about me.”

”But watching you bleed, my heart is bleeding too.” Chu Yunhan looked at Shu Lan’er affectionately, “You are my baby, I can’t bear to see you get hurt.”

Afterwards, Chu Yunhan picked up Shui Lan’er in a princess carry and kept checking her hand. Light-bulb-Jiang-Baiyun just wanted them to leave now.

Realizing that these two people were not quite right in the head, she would no longer bother to explain things to them. It was just that Chu Yunhan stood at the door for a long time and still didn’t go out. Jiang Baiyun felt it to be strange and asked, “What? Still waiting for me to send you off?”

Chu Yunhan, who was holding Shui lan’er, turned around. Facing Jiang Baiyun, he still didn’t have a good attitude but his voice sounded somewhat unnatural: “…Open the door for me.”

  Jiang Baiyun:…
