Everything Galadriel had said seemed to have been the complete truth. I felt very sorry for her and her situation, and I knew I was going to help her, but it seems Asha has a different plan entirely. I was about to accept and tell Galadriel that I would very much like to help her, but Asha beat me to it and asked a question.
"What price are you willing to pay for freedom, and not just you, what price are your people willing to pay for it to?" Asha asked her as she rested her back on the chair she was sitting on.
I narrowed my eyes in confusion, not exactly sure what game Asha was playing now. She placed her hand on my thigh caressing it softly as she kept her focus on Galadriel. To any other person watching us, it would be nothing more than a display of affection, but I knew better. She was asking me to let her do what she wanted, of course she could have just used to the bond to communicate with me, but this works just fine too.
"My people will stand behind whatever decision I make. There might be some opposition from the other clans, but I'm the sovereign ruler of the Nephilim for the next 400 or so years. Unless I die within that period, the choices of our people's fate, is totally up to me. And right now, I'm willing to give up anything, sacrifice anything, even my life, as long as it means my people can survive and thrive." Galadriel said with a determined expression on her face.
"Is that so?" Asha asked, crossing her legs and clasping her fingers together as she leaned forward a bit.
"Without question." Galadriel answered.
"Well then the price we're asking from you, the price to save your life, the life of your daughter and the lives of your people is nothing short than the only thing you currently have over them, and your race over themselves. We want your power." Asha said to her.
Galadriel looked confused, not at all sure what Asha meant by what sue just said. And to be honest I was also a little confused, but I had to keep it down. My wife and I have to present united front, and we're supposed to know exactly what the other person is thinking. But right now, she's cutting me off, and I have absolutely no idea what the fuck she had planned.
"What do you mean by power?" Galadriel asked with her forehead creased in worry and confusion.
"What I mean is, in other for us to help you, you have to belong to us. And not like slaves or anything of the sort, but as a member of our city, our home. But in other for that to be possible, you can no longer be queen, rather you would have a queen and a king, and you're looking at them. Your people can still keep using their current methods of choosing a leader, though it would be on a shorter spectrum than 400 or so years. Every 10 years a new leader would be chosen amongst your clans, and that new leader would be the new councilor who would represent your people on the council of Ethernalia Leonis, as one of the twenty four races that would be ruling the city along side the king. So what do you say?"

Galadriel looked a bit shocked, but not as much as I expected. I don't think she was that naïve think that we would have helped her without asking for something in return, I mean after all; vampires are not known for being benevolent. Though I was really going to help without asking for everything, but this works too. Someone else might actually say this was a bad thing to do, taking advantage of someone who was in a tight spot, but the world doesn't spin on goodness and kind feelings. If after everything I've been through, I couldn't learn even that, then I was pretty stupid.
But this would actually help them in the long run, they needed this alliance either way, and even though they would be loosing most of their ability to rule themselves, this would afford them the protection the need, and the chance to grow properly and beyond the scope of what they are now. If she should refuse, courtesy wouldn't allow me refuse to help her, even though I wouldn't put all of my effort into it, and I don't owe her anything, so after helping them, I would just leave, leaving them weak and vulnerable for whomever or whatever would take interest in her and her people again. They would pretty much be wiped out, because having freedom without the means to protect that freedom was quite useless. They needed strength, and they needed a cover, and Ethernalia Leonis was the only place that can offer that cover.
"I agree to your terms, but I have some conditions that you must absolutely meet. Because while we need your help, and your annexation of the Nephilim race would keep us safe, it would also give you the much needed strength you need in resisting the council of light should a war start. You would have us completely under your command and mercy, so the first condition is more or less a sentimental one. The Aviary as a whole must become a part of Ethernalia Leonis, there's a secret art only known to the previous kings and queens of the Aviary, and using it would help us moved the entirety of the Aviary to a predetermined location in case of trouble. I couldn't use it because first; we have nowhere to go in this world, two we still have enemies on board our cities. So if you're going to help us, you must help our home too, you can give it a new name, but the Aviary and Ethernalia Leonis must become one." Galadriel spoke in a tone that showed she was not going to be backing down unless all of her conditions were met.
"There's no problem with that, Ethernalia Leonis is currently expanding, but it's not doing so fast enough to handle the influx of new companions we have. I agree to this condition of yours, what's next?" I said to her as I leaned back.
"You have to marry my daughter."
"...…."
I turned to look at Asha, not exactly sure about what I just heard. Asha had this amused look on her face as she looked at me, it was obvious she wanted to see how I would react to this, leaving me high and dry, and expecting me to address this awkward situation. The bloody traitor.
"I don't know what you're playing at, but I can't marry your daughter, she's two years old. And to be honest, I already have my hands full with two wives as it is, and I'm happy with both of them, and very fulfilled. I don't want a other wife, much less one that's so young, what are you thinking?" I berated Galadriel.
"if it's her age you're worried about, then you don't have to worry about marrying her now, you can wait until she's sixteen, when she's come of age. Then you can marry her. After all, weren't you just sixteen when your wife married you, and she's thousands of years older than you. As a vampire I don't think age is something that you have to worry about. This is one condition you must meet, if you want the Nephilim to become a part of your people, if not then we're prepared to die."
"What the fuck is wrong with you, this is insane!" I shouted at her. How could she be so resolute about this, even to the point of even refusing help.
I turned to look at Asha, and she still had that same amused smile on her face. But giving that her eyes seemed cold, and I could already feel her murderous tendencies getting a little bit loose through our bond, I would say she's not as amused as she looked. But she seemed ready to take the helm for this, and I was all too willing to let her do so.
"Why do you want my husband to marry your two year old daughter, when its obvious that he doesn't want too, and that he prefers older ladies." Asha said to her. I raised an eyebrow at her final phrase and asked.
"Seriously?" however both women it ignored me, and Galadriel began explaining
"Because the only way my daughter can survive, and not be used is to become a member of your family, real royalty. And not something like an adopted member of your family. She's the most valuable Nephilim or even the most valuable person on Shearath right now. Larkin wants her, and he's keeping her existence a secret, but once she gets older, then not just the whole world, the whole universe would be gunning for her." Galadriel said, but she wasn't making any sense, not one bit. Asha looked up at her, smiled in a very threatening way.
"Right now, I'm contemplating whether I should rip your head off your shoulders for trying to marry your daughter off to my husband. So I'm going to ask this as nicely as I can, what the fuck is your daughter, and why is she so valuable?"
if that's her asking nicely, I don't think I would like to see what asking angrily would look like. Galadriel seemed a little hesitant, contemplating whether or not she could trust us. But that choice was entirely up to her, if we could be trusted or not was not something she could decide considering she just met us almost and hour ago.
"Remember I told you people, I was also bred with a member of another race on the command of Larkin and Josagn. That was how I got pregnant with Ariel, and met her biological father or at least the body he was possessing at that very moment. Her father is a god, and by extension that makes my daughter….."
"A demi-god!" I completed the sentence for her.
"But that's not enough to put her in danger, at the very least she's going to draw attention to herself a bit, but not to the point where she would be in danger." Asha explained as she leaned back on the chair, her legs still crossed. Galadriel nodded and then spoke up.
"I thought so too, but her origins are a little bit more complicated. If I had to be technical or literal, I would say that in a sense she has three fathers. Two of which are gods, and the last one the celestial who married me, and I had to kill when Larkin used his soul rune to control him. Her other fathers, who at this moment would probably be possessing new bodies are nowhere to be found, and since Gods can't really interfere in the business of mortals, I have to find a way for to survive. Especially since I don't have much time left to live, at the very least I would live for another ten or fifteen years, just enough to watch her grow up. That's the reason why I want to marry her off to you." Galadriel said to me.
"You're still hiding something, tell us who her fathers are, and how come she has three of them. And why would she be so valuable?" Asha said to her.
"My husband was a vessel for two gods, or to be more precise two sun gods. Both incredibly powerful in their own rights. As a child he was kidnapped and sold to a cult hell bent on summoning the gods to the world, and having them walk amongst us in mortal shells. Their first summoning was a terrible success, as they managed to summon not one, but two very powerful sun gods. The summoning killed off a lot of them, but they succeeded none the less. There were two gods in the body of a celestial, a celestial with a very powerful slave seal. They were trapped, just as he was, and the name of those two gods are Ra and Apollo."
Oh damn! This shit just kept getting better and better. It's as if, with everyday that passes, more and more things from earth, start being a part of this reality, of this universe. Or maybe they were already a part of it, and I just didn't notice, but now everything was coming at me with full speed.
"My daughter is not just the daughter of two very powerful sun gods, but because of the nature of Apollo's powers, my daughter became an oracle, and one whose visions as so powerful they could not just alter the world around her, she can predict the future with such a startling accuracy it's as if she has control over the flow of time and space itself. It's how I knew you were coming, down to the day, hour, minute, second and even the place you would be. But as the future is still prone to change, Larkin was there first. But one absolute is, every events she's predicted has happened, details might be missing, but if she says or shows a scene from the future, it always happens as she predicts, she might not know how or the events that would lead up to it. But her prophecies are 90% accurate. And she's just two, she's bound to grow stronger in the future, much stronger. That's why I need her protected, but also in a position of power where she wouldn't be used by even the person who's supposed to protect her. That's why she must get married at sixteen, or within a period when I'm still alive, so that I can protect her. So tell me, are you now willing to agree to my conditions?" Galadriel asked.
"We are!" Asha answered immediately, shocking me into a stupor that I couldn't even get out from.
"But she's not marrying my husband, I'm not sharing my husband with a girl barely above my own daughters age." Asha said, as she uncrossed her legs.
"But you said..."
"I know what I said Galadriel!" Asha spoke up, cutting her off.
"Your daughter would be marrying into the Cor royal family once she's eighteen. She would be next queen of our kingdom, or if he's anything like his father, one of the queens. Her groom however won't be my husband, it would be my son Michael. At the very least, they can both grow up together, both with a sense of duty to each other. Your daughter will be protected, and she will have that power you so desperately want her to have. But she will also belong to my family, be my own daughter in law. So make sure you teach her well and teach her right. Now, let's go kill that Larkin guy, it's getting late."
"What the fuck is going on?" but no one answered me, my wife was in complete control, and had just made an arranged marriage for our three month old son. Seriously though, what the fuck is going on?
