Chapter 323

The smell of energy cores were quite distinct and choking, but especially so for a vampire with their intense sense of smell. Kodak hated playing the waiting game, especially since he was going to be killing people in a few moments, however he didn't have much of a choice, not if he wanted his ambush to work.

There was a chill in the air as the temperature dropped, and the smell of wet earth filled his nose. The wind picked up speed as the rumbling sound of thunder blasted out of the rain filled crowds. This night was bound to be a cold one, and really long to. Kodak was perched on top of his ship, his eyes directly over the entrance of the docking bay as he waited for his trap to be sprung.

"So how are you going to attack, for a half devil boy, I don't think it would be wise for you to take the fight directly to them. So please tell me I did not just come hunting with some fool of a child who has a simple grudge but not the intelligence to carry out his revenge. We're dealing with Roman Goldfinger, and any mistake on our part means death, or at least your death anyway." Ikaria said to Kodak as she took of her glasses.

Almost immediately her pony tailed blond hair turned black and braided. Her blue eyes became green, and her figure filled out to become a whole lot more different than before. With her glasses she could be considered to be beautiful and pretty beyond all measure. But once she's changed to her secondary and fierce personality, Ikaria becomes sexy, sultry and hot. Which means she's a million times more dangerous than normal.

Kodak might claim he had lost his faith in women, but even he knew that this woman was much too imposing for him to ignore. Looking at her awakened desires in him that he never knew he had, and while he was trying his best to ignore the rapidly growing attraction to the split personality bombshell, fate just seemed to keep putting her in his path.

"You don't have to worry about anything, I have a plan. Besides it's a little too late to back out now, they're already here." Kodak said to her in answer to her questions.

The Satyr led almost three dozen men into the docking bay, and they were dragging three really large cages with them. The cages were big enough to hold at least twenty grown vampires, which means they had come prepared. Kodak felt an inch in his mouth as his fangs threatened to slide out of his gums. But he was keeping the fact that he was a vampire secret, especially from his landlady, because quite frankly only a fool would trust someone with dual personalities. And obviously Duwaiser was not a safe place for vampires.

There was a human man beside the Satyr, unlike the stereotypical images of merchants, this man was not fat or round, but he was huge and bulky. Packed full to the brim with muscles and standing at seven feet tall. Of course humans are known as the most physically weak species in the universe, but Kodak would not underestimate a human, he knew they were the only race that could practically do the impossible. Kael was who he was today not because he's a vampire, but rather because he was born human.

All of the qualities that made the human race one of the most feared in the cosmos, was still in him. And it was those qualities that helped him free the vampires from the hell that was their existence. So as it stands, Kodak would assumed that hunk of muscle had as much power as a Shadower, a vampire exactly one rank stronger than him.

Kodak kept his eyes on them as they came closer, walking directly over the trap he had set. At first it seemed as if none of them would have noticed it, but it looks like Roman Goldfinger had stronger senses than Kodak gave him credit for, and for a human that was quite an achievement.

"Do any of you smell blood?" Goldfinger asked with his brows furrowed in thought.

"blood? No master I don't smell any. Do you think someone else got to the vampires before us?" the Satyr asked him as they moved closer.

"Based on how quite it seems, and the fact that there's no one in sight, I would say you're right about someone else getting here before us. Plus whoever was here must be quite powerful, because the entire battlefield has been cleaned up, with only the scent of blood left behind." Roman explained.

"So what do we do now boss?" the Satyr asked.

"Take a look around, see if we can find any clues to whoever took the vampires, and see if we can track them down." Roman ordered.

His lackeys nodded their heads and went about carrying out his orders. But that was exactly what Kodak wanted all along. There was too many people and each of them were of different races with only Roman being human. Which meant there was too many unknowns in this fight, and a head on clash would be suicide, so the best strategy would be to separate them.
And this was where the trap he had set came into play. Roman was not smelling an after scent of blood being cleaned up, he was smelling blood itself in a form to tiny to notice; vapor.

It has taken Kodak a long ass time to refine his control over blood to the point where he could turn the formerly thick and viscous liquid, into a gaseous form imbued with certain properties. Kodak had learnt this trick from Kael's control over soul energy, and now the slaughter would begin.

Unknown to them, the blood vapor gathered in three different locations of the incredibly huge docking bay where the majority of Roman's forces where gathered. And then the vapor rapidly coalesced and turned into tiny blood needles that hung on the air over the head of Roman's thugs. It was at this point, when they were well and completely visible that the thugs finally noticed it.

"Hey Saiyid, Caracter! What the hell is th....!!"

None of the people who noticed the blood needles ever got the chance to warn their comrades as the needles fell on them like a rain of blood, reaping lives as holes were punctured into their bodies in seconds. The only sound made to show that an attack had taken place was the sound of their bodies hitting the ground.

At this point more than two dozen men were either dead or injured. It was about time Kodak made a move. However before he could do anything, Ikaria had already jumped down from their perch on top his ship. Her body glowing gold as she landed on the ground with such force that a crater was formed on the reinforced steel landing platform of the docking bay. A beam of golden light flew out of her hands, as she burnt a significant amount of people to nothing more than dust.

(That woman controls the power of the sun, just like me. She's even more powerful than she let's on, almost as powerful as our king, if not more so.)

Kodak was surprised by Shao Tie's words, but with Ikaria in this fight it means things would end a whole lot faster than he imagined. Kodak swooped in and joined the fight, keeping to the shadows while Ikaria shone like a beacon of hope and justice. Kodak just relegated himself to the shadows as he took the lives of the other thugs. None of them were even able to put up any sort of resistance, leading Kodak to believe that he had over estimated them.

And so in that light he was a little more wanton with his killing, as he used his superior speed and strength to end the lives of the men who had sold his people and many other innocents for profit. The anger he felt did not even seem to go away, and he almost lost control and gave in to his vampiric instincts. But it was only by a miracle he held on until he found himself face to face with Ramon Goldfinger.

"please don't kill me! I have money, information, women! Anything you want, just tell me and I can provide, all I ask is that you spare my life."

Kodak was caught of guard, he really didn't expect the fearsome Ramon Goldfinger to be nothing more than an over hyped gangster. He was afraid of death just like any man, but for a man doing the kind of things he did, he was more spineless than normal. But Kodak was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, however just to be on the safe side, he had to use the allure.

"The vampires you own, who do you sell them to?" Kodak asked.

"I sell them to no one, the only people who but vampires from me is an organization. But they'll kill me if I tell you their name!" Ramon explained with fear choking his voice.

"I'll kill you if you don't tell me, so you make a choice now or I'll make one for you." Kodak threatened as he move menacingly towards Roman.

"The Fellowship! They're called the Fellowship!" he pleaded with his hands up

"Okay, where do I find this fellowship?" Kodak asked.

"you don't find them, they find you." Roman explained.

"and how does that happen? Hurry up you're wasting my time!" Kodak snapped at him running out of patience.

"By becoming successful and influential at what you do. There's a secret fellowship outpost in Duwaiser, they run all their shady operations through that outpost. But to get their attention, Duwaiser had to either fear or love you, and you must be able to offer something that they need, which can be anything from slaves, to fighting skills, spies or natural materials like ores and rare plants."

Kodak nodded his head in understanding at what Roman just said. He understood the next step he had to take, which means it was time to complete the mission of executing Roman. So he did that, by slapping his head of his shoulder and turning to the Satyr who he had used to set a trap. Kodak only had one word for him using the Allure.

"Die!"

And he did, he just dropped down, devoid of life, like he had never taken a single breath before. Kodak made his way out of the docking bay, his job done, and the bodies left there to be discovered as a warning, though they wouldn't know who did it, this was just the beginning.

"I know who you are, and I know what you are too!" Ikaria called out to him as he was leaving. Kodak turned a bit and said to her.

"you don't know anything about me!" but all she said in reply was.

"We'll see about that."
