I couldn't believe what I was hearing, in fact I never expected something like this to happen, so I was quite shocked about how to react to it. Tiberius Nix had a fierce look on his face, but it was also a desperate one. At the moment I had an army nine hundred and eighty eight thousand strong waiting right outside my borders, their arrival was really sudden as I didn't expect it, but the very idea that they were not here for a fight surprised me.

I didn't know much about Tiberius apart from what's known to the public, and that's the fact that he's the illegitimate son of the Nix noble family. And if what he's saying is true, he had come here to offer his allegiance, along with his army, II order to prevent a full scale war that would leave Shearath a smoking heap of rubble and death. Because without a doubt, a war would leave us vulnerable to the enemies outside of the planet, whole other civilizations that have been waiting for Shearath to show a hint of weakness and disunity so that they could finally topple us off the throne we've sat on for a very long ass time.

I couldn't believe that there was such a person amongst the human race, he was so good that it was intimidating. He came here not at all caring for his life, but willing to sacrifice it as long as no innocents would suffer. It was a brave thing to do, because he didn't know me, the human me was very different from the current vampire me, so without a doubt he would have had no idea how I would have reacted to such a proposal, heck I might have just gone full tyrant on him and had him executed. But just like he said, he was here for the greater good.

"You do know you would be branded a traitor by the human humane coalition, especially the Nix noble family, before we leave they would definitely try everything within their power to take your life. Not to mention you said your wife is being held hostage by the family, is this a sacrifice you're willing to pay? It just doesn't make sense." I said to him as we took a walk through the city.

"My Lor...your Majesty. I know the risk, but my Miranda would never forgive me if there's a chance to do something right, and I refuse to do it because of what I might lose. She taught me that some sacrifices are worth making as long as it helps the world and keep Innocents safe, she's everything to me." Tiberius replied with melancholic look on his face, yet he was also standing strong and determined, so sure of his choice that he really had no intention of looking back.

"Are you sure about this Tiberius, there's no going back you know." I said to him.

"Just talking to you has let me know that you're nothing like the human coalition or the council of light. You have this distinct ability to make people love you everywhere you go, I've made my investigation ever since I got into the city, and I know that you've been changing the lives of the people in this city since you returned. The slums are almost completely empty with quite a lot of speculation about where most of the people went, but you're rebuilding it, and most of the residents in the slums as responsible for the construction. You picked them out of poverty and obscurity and gave them jobs and a chance to rebuild their own lives and homes.

Sure quite a few people are still against living with vampires, but that's just a sentiment that has been bred for over 600 thousand years, a sentiment that you were able to actually get vampires to overlook. The very same race who are supposed to hate us even more than we hate them. I don't know how you did it, but I just know that this is the right choice to make, having an army of this much strength would prevent the order noble family and the coalition from making a move against you, and if you accept it, it means you're not going to go to war with them.

There would be a stalemate, and my family would probably fall for my head, while my brother would either execute me wife, or take her as his concubine to spite me. Either way the world, this world! Survives your wrath, and many other children would still have the chance to grow up and be raised by their parents. I'm choosing to believe in you, and to believe in the words and looks of your people, I've only ever seen this much worship when the princess of the Weaverson family is around. So I believe without a doubt that you would do the right thing."

Was he right, would I be doing the right thing, but then again what is the right thing? Without a shred of a doubt, Teluna and Gus were already carrying out the missions I gave them. Innocent people would be hurt in the process, their lives might be lost. If Tiberius came earlier maybe I would have been to threaten the governors with his massive army, but then again if I should be honest, I would have still done the same thing.

The governors or at least most of them had their hands stuck in far too many sinister things to be trusted. Their own homes are a battlefield, much less their city states. They each held significant power, and not everyone would be willing to let go of that power for Tiberius's greater good. But his heart was in the right place, and he was not lying to me either, so I would trust him and his words and give what he just told me a chance.

But the governors still had to go, each and every single one of them, and in the most public and violent manner possible, pointing all fingers to the secret organization the Fellowship. Either way, before anyone else or even the fellowship truly realize what is going on, the entire continent of Leo would be faraway from here and completely out of their reach.

It was a good trade off and one I'm sure Tiberius would also agree to, no matter how adamant he was about doing the right thing. It was a few bad lives for the sake of many good ones. Of course a few good lives would also be lost in the process, and while that is beyond unfortunate, it is what it is. Sacrifices had to be made, and the idea that every life should matter in the long run was bullshit that only happens in the movies, sometimes there's no choice left but to go that way regardless of how powerful you are. 'Heavy lies the head that wears the crown'.

Ad much as I hated that phrase it was completely true, making decisions like this really rook a toll on me and what I believed in. No king can completely keep his hands clean, mine is already stained, and I know there's going to be much more of than stain soon enough.

"Tiberius will your army fall in line?" I asked him, as most soldiers won't share the general's sentiments.

"Each and every single person of this million man and woman army was scouted by me across the galaxies ever since I was five years old. This was the only inheritance my father felt that he could give me, that I should create an army loyal to me and the Nix family since I couldn't bear his name or truly partake of his wealth. They expected me to fail, but fighting wars is a very lucrative business, Sonia thrived as did my soldiers. But I was still not accepted, and my half brother an I don't get along, not when I'm married to a woman he wants.

That's why my army was chosen, along with a few supervisors put in place by the Nix family and the human coalition. The very same group of people you met at the spatial zone and made shirt work of. Everyone here is loyal and would follow me to the depths of the earth if I so wish, so yes they will fall in line."

I nodded my head in agreement with what he just said. Looks like he has had a story of trials and triumphs similar to mine. I respected his experience on the battlefield, and also his strength, he seems really capable plus he also had a hood heart, so it was quite a good deal if you ask me. I understood him, his motivation and his pain, maybe that's why I all of a sudden felt an intense need to make sure that this guy was happy and would serve me for all eternity.

"Tiberius your wife is a hostage on the Nix ancestral estates right?" I asked him as I stopped opposite a open fruit stall and bought two fruits from the woman who was selling them, along with her children. I made sure to pay a hundred times what the fruit were worth and smiled as the woman and her children called after with thanks and gratitude.

"yes my lord, the estate is on an island, and right in the middle of a volcano." He replied to me with a downcast look on his face.

"Alright then, get me five of your most powerful and trusted subordinates, get yourself outfitted with real weapons and armor from the armory. We're going to get your wife. And keel it a secret, you don't know who might be listening." Tiberius looked like he had a lot of things to say, plus there was also a look of fear on his face, almost as if he was not sure about this current cause of action.

"You've chosen to swear your life and loyalty to me, as your king. You intend to make sure that loyalty last for all of eternity, so don't worry and don't doubt me. There's not a lock in this universe me and my vampires can break into. Let me do this for you, by this time tomorrow she'll in your arms." He looked at me a little red eyed and nodded before heading back to the estate to get things ready.

As for me, I kept on walking through the streets, meeting everyone I could meet and just for a while, just being normal. Because on earth that was what I was, normal. There wasn't much responsibility apart from when I had clients or had to prosecute someone, my life was monotonous and I was just one of the crowd, a part of them. But in this life I've been placed right on the spot, right in front of everyone to see and worship, and respect.

It's not as if I didn't love it, I really did. It was a wonderful feeling being looked up to by so many people . but once in a while, I really miss being normal, just like of the crowd. With simple worries and simple goal yet impossible goals. But once in a while I'm able to experience that feeling, and that's when I'm amongst the normal people, the ones who were looking up to me to keep them fed, clothed, protected and safe. Sure I would always be looked up to when I'm around them, but there was always this vibe of belonging that I had, and it's like nothing I've ever felt.

I spent an entire hour with the people, and in that time I had a massive crowd gathered around me in a park as I told them the story of my life and everything that had happened to me during my time as a prisoner in the pit, and all of the obstacles that I've had to face to get to where I am today. It was rather therapeutic too, because it made me come to terms with a whole lot of things that had happened to me. Now I could look to the future with a brighter smile and a more hopeful heart.

After my impromptu stroll, I made my way back to estate and went straight for the armory. But not before I made a very important call.

{Hello Kodak I need you!}

{Okay what's wrong boss.}

{We have a new member to our family, but he's wife is being held hostage by the Nix family. We're breaking her out, and we're going to be making a lot of noise. I need the guardian working with the Lion of Shearath on this. So how soon can you get here?}

{How about immediately.}

{That's fine, get your ass over here. And be prepared, this would definitely be bloody.}

After that there was a loud boom as the sky seemed to literally be torn apart, out of that tear Kodak's frigate made it's way out of the tear accompanied with a few other ships in tow. Well that was a lot faster than I imagined, but no worries, since he's here then everything was alright. And just in time too, because to be honest I've been getting quite bored, politics is really exhausting, and now I get the chance to do what I really want, fight!
