We spent quite a few hours exploring the dungeon, or the Beastiary as Soren preferred to call it. But I had to check out if there were anymore tasks that I could give to the tower, and not just that, I had to prepare for Lukas's arrival. The children however were not too eager to leave, some of the adults too.
But after finding out from Soren that there would be no danger about letting them stay, I made my way up, back to the tower with Xaseah, Asha, Asare, Varsessa and Magellan in tow. I hated it, but it seems I have no choice but to climb 2000 steps upwards back to the tower, this is going to hurt.
The dungeon had a teleportation sub routine, but it was uninitiated, so there was no way it would be able to work now. So I had to suck it up and climb, 'there's just so much stairs'. Hopefully the tower had a task to construct an elevator of something. Because should more floors be added to the tower, moving up and down with just the stairs would be very uncomfortable.
I made way back to our apartment as we hurried to get ready for our guest. Apart from Asha and Asare, Xaseah and I lacked really nice clothes, but at least we would look a little presentable. Asha was and actually still is the leader of a coven, so things like a good dress to wear to such an occasion should not be that much of a problem.
Asare would've probably pack a few nice things with him when he made his journey here. But now that I thought about, where were the vampires who followed Asha to help set free Xaseah when she was captured by Adein. I haven't seen even a shadow of them since then. I needed to ask her about this.
"Hey Asha, can I ask you a question?" I said to her as she brushed her red hair all the while humming a happy tune.
"You just did, but ask away." She replied with a smile on her face
"Well you're the leader of a coven aren't you? Where are all your subordinates?" I asked as I took the brush from her and began to brush through her hair myself.
"Oh! Now I know what I was forgetting. Well my coven is actually an affiliated coven of the Zekeri bloodline coven. The vampire who turned me, actually came from that family and as such by virtue of my sire being one of them, I also became bound to them.
After I became an elder I could stand face to face and toe to toe with their very leaders, as an apology for the years of torment and prejudice because of my human ancestry, and the fact that i was once the bitch who held the key to their cages. They gave me a simple coven and a couple of vampires from the coven to lead. But since I don't have any true blood ties or loyalty to them, leaving was not that much of a problem. As for my subordinates, they can't follow me here, after all they can't leave their own family behind."
I nodded my head, but after I realized Asha couldn't see me from my position behind her, I told her I understood. So in the end, apart from me and everybody else in the tower, Asha did not seem to have any true allies. She was alone until I came along and all this started happening.
I couldn't help feeling a little arrogant, I really am what she says I am, a savior.
Well I can't be sure when Lukas would arrive, so I don't think it would hurt for me to check out the tower stats and see if there are any tasks that it could carry out. Not to mention, there should be more than enough soul energy to substantially raise it's level.

The amount of soul energy available was insane, this much probably came about from my constant breaking of seals for the vampires in the tower. I already knew that every time I broke a seal, an intense amount of soul energy would be released, that would be in turn absorbed by me and tower. And the tower barely manages to absorb 30% of that energy, but if its energy absorbing skill gets to a higher level, there would probably not be that much problem with absorbing energy.
Some of the elemental energy, especially the earth and water energy had increased in percentages on their own. As for the earth, that was almost inevitable as the tower itself was made of the highest fade of earth essence, and being supplemented by the earth crystal it had absorbed during it's initial awakening, stock pilling earth elemental essence would be no problem at all. The water crystal, takes in energy to produce water elemental essence. As long as those two crystals are around, I don't think I would ever lack for those two elemental resources.
A lot of changes seemed to have been made, and chief among them should be regression of the tower's awakening, and together with it, the disappearance of everything that had to do with creating monsters for the tower.
All this have been lost to the dungeon that was now God knows how many thousand feet below the ground right now. But the ultimate truth remains that there's been no trouble so far, so at this point in time, the only thing I can really do would be to increase the level of the tower. Now let's see if I can get it to level ten in one fell swoop.

This was Insane, I needed almost a hundred thousand units of soul energy to raise the tower to level 9.to get to the next level, I need double the amount of soul energy with an extra hundred units.
Looking at it from a different angle, then it would seem I have to unseal at least fifty to sixty people to get the required amount of soul energy to raise the level of the tower, and that was if you exclude the fact that the same soul energy was required for me to complete an task the tower would undertake and to also keep it's functions active. Well at least the shield got stronger, now though I had to see what tasks the tower had available.

There was so much to do, but not enough resources to carry out. And because of that I had to hold back on making any decision. At best I have to wait after the meeting with Lukas, or maybe a little farther into the future when I have enough resources to spare. Besides even though we were all trying to be incredibly careful, there was no immediate danger to us, so I could take things a little easy.
Maybe it was better if I leave all this tasks hanging for now, at least until a need for them arises or at least I have already raised the tower level to 10. Well either way, I guess I just had to play a sort of waiting game an see what comes next before I act.

It was not really high grade material as it seemed to be made from the poorly tanned hides of God knows what animal. However it looked good on her, sexy and intimidating. She had the image of a fierce general down to a T. However she would probably make her enemies loose control of the snake in their trousers ninety nine percent of the time rather than inducing fear.
"Lukas is hear, and he brought a friend." Xaseah said with gritted teeth.
I was shocked at the sheer animosity in her voice, I know Xaseah hated Lukas, but it was not to the extent where it almost seems as if venom was dripping out of every word she was saying. Which meant whoever this friend of Lukas is, he was someone Xaseah did not really have any good experience with. I turned to Asha with a questioning look on my face, but she shrugged back at me, equally as puzzled as I was. It seems we will have to find out for ourselves now.
"Well then, it would be rude to keel our guests waiting won't it. Let's go make a deal with a devil ladies, this is sure to be interesting."
