--- Graycastle, Greengarden's Common Area ---

Jay, Philson, and Lydia were currently being forced to kneel down in front of Queen Auburn while she gives them a verdict about the trouble they caused.

"To actually cause this much trouble just because of food. What a troublesome bunch you are. Before I give you your punishments, Jay, stand up."

Jay immediately did as he was asked and stood up while thinking, "Just what the hell did these two do? To actually be brought in front of the queen...*sigh"

Queen Auburn called Auriel after she saw Jay stood up.

"Daughter, I know this man is important to you. But he is related to these troublemakers. So, to be fair, I will let you choose his punishment. Also, he is disqualified from the whole tournament."

Princess Auriel and Jay were surprised when the queen said that Jay was disqualified from the tournament.

"Mother! Isn't that a bit unfair? He was not part of that mess that happened! He did not even touch a hair on those filthy and disgusting nobles!" Princess Auriel was so angry that she even released a chilling aura.

"Watch your mouth! Haven't I taught you that the royalty and the nobles are more important than the common rabble? Do you want me to punish you too?" Queen Auburn smacked Auriel's head lightly while she said this.

Princess Auriel was about to leave the room after that. But then, Jay suddenly spoke up.

"My queen, perhaps I can suggest a way on how to resolve my punishment."

Queen Auburn got intrigued by what Jay has got to say and gestured him to speak out his mind.

"Let me continue to participate in the tournament. If I win, just don't give me the rewards. If I lose, then lock me up in a cage. (The final reward of the tournament is just having Auriel as a fiancee. It may be nice, but with this childlike body of mine, that is just stupid to think of at the moment.)"

"Hahaha!!! What an outrageous thing to suggest! So no matter the result, nothing good will happen to you? Hahaha!!! Fine, then let that be your punishment." Queen Auburn said while she laughed.

But Princess Auriel had a different reaction when she heard Jay's suggestion. She then grabbed Jay by the hand and dragged him somewhere else.

"Just what does this daughter of mine see in this kid?" Queen Auburn thought to herself as she saw Auriel dragging Jay away.

...

--- Somewhere in the common area ---

Princess Auriel brought Jay to a random tavern. After both of them were sat down near a table, Auriel started speaking.

"Can you handle drinking ale?"

Jay was weirded out by how Princess Auriel was acting and thought "This is weird... is she obsessed with me in some way? Just what the hell is happening?"

He just nodded at the princess. So Princess Auriel went ahead and ordered a jug of ale and asked the tavern keeper for some extra side dishes.

"Jay, I'm sorry for dragging you all the way here. Whatever I tell you now, can you keep it a secret?"

Jay drank a bit of the ale in his cup and nodded.

"Okay then. If I tell you that I have feelings for you, would you believe me?"

Jay almost spurted out the ale he drank when he heard this. After a few seconds of recovery from that strange question of the princess, Jay spoke up.

"Princess, please don't joke with me like that. I am just a kid who likes attempting what older people do."

"I am not joking around. I really have feelings for you. From the moment I saw you back then, until now, whenever I see you, my body starts to feel really weird. My sister, Hailey, told me that this weird feeling is what people call love."

When Jay heard this particular topic, he remembered something he once read in the game's forums when he was still not reincarnated.

There was a player who posted something weird in the forums. It was so weird that it became too eye catching to people who were attempting a 100% relationship status with Princess Auriel. This person posted something about Auriel suddenly confessing her feelings to him. But in the end, he learned that Auriel just did that to divert herself from her inescapable fate of getting married to a fat noble named 'Forbes.' This was also a very unique quest called as "Last moment of happiness" since in the future, no matter what players attempted, Auriel still got married to Forbes and she was later found out to have committed suicide just before her wedding night.

And now, Jay got chills when he remembered this and looked at Auriel straight in the eye.

"You're getting married to Forbes aren't you?"

When Auriel heard Jay, she stood up abruptly and while having a shocked look on her face.

"You... how did you know? Only those filthy nobles were supposed to know this, and my mother! (I only learned it from my sister when she told me. How the hell does this kid know?)"

Jay confirmed that he unintentionally triggered the unique quest. Knowing the sad and tragic fate awaiting Auriel, he had no choice but to save her this time around.

"With my 10 years of experience, I will make sure you live this time around."

After this thought of his, he stood up and held Princess Auriel's hands while he spoke up.

"Princess, it does not matter how I know of this. But don't worry, I will keep this a secret. In return, will you let me tell you what the future holds for you and this kingdom?"

When Princess Auriel heard Jay's words, she calmed down and sat down. Jay did the same and sat down again.

"You better keep this a secret. So, what is this thing about my future and the kingdom's future?"

Princess Auriel asked while she grabbed her cup filled with ale. Just as she was about to drink up, Jay grabbed her hand and signaled her not to do so at the moment.

"If I tell you that this kingdom will burn in flames 3 months later and you will die just before that, will you believe me?"

Princess Auriel thought she just heard the most ridiculous joke in the world and got pissed off. Seeing this reaction of hers, Jay explained a bit further.

"A kingdom made up entirely out of beastmen and halfbloods will wreck havoc. Holtheim, Wildergreene, and another large force gets entirely wiped out by them. As for you, your wedding day was supposed to happen the next year, but was moved to an earlier date due to the war and those stupid nobles. You killed yourself while you cursed this entire kingdom for causing you pain when you gave them your care and love."

At first, Princess Auriel thought Jay was just making up a story, but when she analyzed it carefully, she remembered a few reports that some scouts told Queen Auburn just a few days ago.

...

"My queen! Bad news! A large group of minotaurs and werewolves were seen moving towards the southern border. Some of us went to investigate further, but they have yet to return. We were also getting reports from someone back at Murkwood Town that the current lord there, Barton, is gathering a very large force."

When the queen heard this, she threw her teddy bear to the ground so hard that cracks started to appear in the throne room.

"Enemies from all sides is it? And what about Arturus? Any movement from his side?"

The scout got even more scared the moment he heard the name Arturus and replied with a shaky voice, "My queen... all of my fellow scouts who were stationed near the borders of Holtheim disappeared. The last report I got from them was that King Arturus ordered a mass production of a certain item. As for what that is, I am afraid they failed to report it before disappearing."

The queen suddenly calmed down which is a bit weird. She then gave out an order.

"Scout, tell the chief warrior and my sons to gather here. I want to have a talk with them. As for you, go and eat as much as you want at the barracks."

While all of this happened, Queen Auburn did not know that Princess Auriel and Princess Hailey were currently eavesdropping through Hailey's amazing skills.

...

Back to the present...

"Jay, do you know a way to prevent all this?" Princess Auriel asked while she suddenly felt a strange kind of feeling inside of her and thought "Just who are you? How do you know all of this?"

Jay knew that there was only one way to save the princess. It is by taking her away from this kingdom. So he made a risky gamble and asked, "Princess, would you like to join my guild Golden Phoenix? If you join us, I promise to do my best to save you. As for Wildergreene, I will try my best since the power of a single guild is not enough to save an entire kingdom. (Not possible yet. Everyone in the guild might have improved, but who knows how much change there is in history.)"

Princess Auriel got surprised with Jay's suggestion. But deciding between the choice of getting married to an abusive and fat noble or joining a small guild, it was a pretty easy decision.

"I accept your terms. Please let me join your guild."

Jay was really happy when he heard the princess' reply and said, "Alright. Then, as the guild master, I have an order for you right now. Make sure not to leak out anything I told you. Also do your best to resist Forbes and his noble friends. After a week, when the construction of the guild hall will start, I will secretly help you escape this place."

Princess Auriel got thrilled when she knew that she only had to endure this annoying situation of hers for a week.

"Thank you Jay. Thank you! But, I do not want my sister to suffer the same fate as me since my responsibilities might be passed down to her, including the marriage stuff, if I escape. Any ideas?"

Jay realized this problem too and knew that helping two princesses escape was too hard. So he said, "If I help her escape too, then you know what happens right?"

Princess Auriel shook her head.

"Golden Phoenix will be hunted down by Wildergreene. If that happens, the only backup plan I have is to join the beastmen kingdom or the large force I mentioned earlier since I have connections with them. So, what do you think?"

This time, the princess understood what Jay said and told him that she was willing to take the risks as long as she and her sister were not going to suffer in the hands of her own mother and the nobles.

"Alright. Take this guild emblem and ask the adventurer's guild to create 100 copies of it. After that, just give it all to me and keep one for yourself and your sister."

After that long talk, Jay and the princess stood up and left the tavern and decided to return back at the Graycastle to check what happened to Lydia and Philson.
