3 days later, while Jay was still busy with his training...

---Golden Phoenix Guild Hall---

Unlike before where the guild hall was unfurnished, the guild hall right now looked really nice. The first floor had a cafe-type of setting and the courtyard was now filled with different kinds of training equipment.

...

Hub Center, 1st floor of the guild...

The ones who were present were Roasted Boar, Abyssal Angel, Bloody Harvest, Hot Buns, Heda, Annie, Yale, and Philson. Everyone was currently seated on tables while Heda acted as a waitress and served them with refreshments.

"So the only ones not here is Jay, Abby, Roselia, and Boras?" Roasted Boar asked before drinking the coffee he ordered.

"Yup. As for the quests on the Request Board, Alfons told me that someone from the Adventurer's guild from Yellowleaf City will arrive here three days after the guild hall is constructed, which is today." Heda said while she finally finished serving everyone a cup of coffee and sat on top of the bar counter.

"Heda, can you fill us out with any information you have about the guild hall?" Bloody Harvest said gloomily. In truth is, ever since he arrived at the guild hall, no one knew what was wrong with him since he kept on mumbling softly to himself and looked really gloomy.

After a few minutes later, Heda told them everything that Alfons told her during the tour. She also introduced Philson properly this time since the first time everyone saw him, everyone thought that Philson was just a random NPC given to them by Prince Frederick.

"Woah. I knew that our guild hall would be a nice place to hang out. But I did not expect that there were a lot of benefits that came with it!" Abyssal Angel exclaimed happily and kept on thinking about how relaxing it must be to sleep on one of those VIP bedrooms that Heda mentioned.

Just as everyone's imaginations was going wild with what they were going to try out doing in the guild hall, Heda detected a small group of people approaching the guild hall.

...

Outside the guild hall...

"Wow. I never seen a guild hall like this before. It just feels so luxurious, and grand, and..." A little boy in a farmer's attire exclaimed as he looked at the Golden Phoenix guild hall in front of him.

Together with the little boy were 20 other people. 15 men, 4 women, and a disabled elder who was carried by some of the men. All of them were farmers from the nearby village, Gruk. The reason why they went here was to ask for help since a few days ago, they saw some knights in black armor going in and out of this place. They were really in need of assistance and this was the only place they could think of that could provide assistance.

While everyone was having worries that the people inside this large mansion might reject them and send them away, a little girl with brown hair and wearing a maid costume came out and greeted them.

"Hi there. Do you need something from us?" Heda said excitedly while she thought, "Hohoho... it looks like we have our first 'customers.'"

The farmers were a bit skeptical and did not know if this place was really where those black knights came from. So the elder spoke up. "Little girl, sorry for the trouble. But can we talk with the lord of this... place."

"Sure. Go ahead and wait at the courtyard." Heda said before walking away and entering the guild hall again.

...

Courtyard (Training Grounds)...

The courtyard was filled with different training equipment like archery targets, sparring swords, etc. The farmers were all waiting near the gates just standing up and not even sitting down on the stone benches that were provided.

"Grandpa Bear, can I hold that sword over there?" The little boy asked the disabled elder excitedly. He was just really excited to see a real sword. But the one who replied to him was one of the women.

"Ash! Mind your manners! Who knows what kind of noblemen lives here?!" The woman said in a scolding tone.

All of the farmers were a bit afraid of who might come out of the guild hall's doors. They did not know what kind of person owned this grand and luxurious place. The only thing on their mind right now was to be very respectful and hope for the best.

...

After a few seconds of waiting, Heda came out together with Roasted Boar .

"I heard you were looking for the one who owns this place?" Roasted Boar said while he observed the farmers.

The moment the farmers heard Roasted Boar speak, they all knelt down. Even the disabled elder was placed down on the ground and tried his best to kneel down, even though he does not have one of his arms and legs anymore.

"Milord. Please help us." The disabled elder said while not even daring to look directly at Roasted Boar, fearing that he might instantly be killed if the 'lord' in front of him gets annoyed.

"Sure. Fill me in with the details of what you need." Roasted Boar said while he pointed at two men, the little kid, and the disabled elder.

"The four of you, follow me inside. Heda, provide everyone else with food and water. Oh, all of you can also stop kneeling down and feel at home."

When the farmers heard this, they started crying. It was not because they were sad or anything, but it was because of how benevolent the lord was in front of them.

"Thank you milord!" All of them exclaimed in unison.

Roasted Boar chuckled lightly and led the four people he picked inside. As for Heda, she started to do as Roasted Boar said and started handing out food and drinks to them.

...

Hub Center, 1st floor of the guild...

While everyone from the guild was busy testing out the rooms on the second and third floor, Roasted Boar gestured the four people to sit down anywhere they want so that they can talk about the request they needed from the guild.

So everyone including Roasted Boar sat down near one of the tables and went on to business.

"Milord, as you can see, we are just simple farmers. We came from the nearby village, Gruk." One of the men said. The one who continued speaking was the disabled elder.

"Just a few days ago, monsters from a nearby cave from our village suddenly increased in number and suddenly razed our village. Our village was supposed to have around 200 people, but only our small group managed to run and survive from the monster attack..." The disabled elder started crying before he continued.

"Milord, we have nowhere else to go. Most of us lost our families in that attack. Even my baby girl..." The disabled elder did not want to talk anymore as he kept remembering his daughter who was ripped to shreds in front of him.

"Grandpa Bear..." The little kid comforted the elder while he also started crying.

Roasted Boar decided to just let them release their negative emotions since he did not know how to provide emotional help. Then after a while, when the elder and the little kid settled down, Roasted Boar spoke up.

"Gramps. You feeling okay now?"

The elder suddenly remembered that he was still in the presence of a 'lord' and quickly apologized.

"No need for that. For now, I want to ask something. If I give you guys some construction materials and food, will you work for me? If you do, I will let you and the rest of the farmers a small plot of land near the guild hall. The only thing I want you to do for me is provide a 20% share of your harvest."

When the elder and the two men heard this, they almost dropped on their knees. The thing that they were supposed to ask for was that the monsters who attacked their village to be killed. But instead, before even stating their request, the 'lord' in front of them offered them a really generous offer.

"Thank you milord!"

They all bowed their heads towards Roasted Boar.

"Alright. You may now leave and tell everyone else what I told you. Also make sure to ask Heda for some food and water." Roasted Boar said and gestured them to leave.

...

After the four people left, Roasted Boar took out his guild emblem and spoke with Heda.

"Heda, your plan is going well. But I don't get it... why can't we just recruit NPCs at the nearby cities? And besides, I think that these guys wanted us to kill some monsters..." Roasted Boar did not even finish speaking before Heda rebutted.

"Let me explain my plan better. Let's say that we did as they asked and cleared out some monsters. If we did that, they will just return to their destroyed village, rebuild, and experience the same thing over and over again unless we clear out that cave near their village. But what if we provided them a new place to settle down? What if one of us pretends to be a lord?"

Roasted Boar finally understood what Heda was planning.

"I suppose this will help in our guild's raw material production then. And in the future, if their numbers increase, we can use them for other kinds of labor... (Heda is really smart. I did not even think of that...)" Roasted Boar thought in his mind and deactivated his guild emblem.
