The Coronation of the Emperor in the Wind Kingdom was an elaborate procedure which is done in the Temple of the Wind God, the Patron God of their kingdom. A new crown suiting the Emperor's taste will be made and it would usually be the Empress Dowager who crowns the new Emperor. Then the Coronation Decree will be read by the Priestess announcing the Official Name of the Emperor. Also a wedding ceremony will be conducted inside the temple for the crowing of the Empress with a Phoenix crown even though they are already married.

Then the procession will take place with the Emperor and the Empress are paraded in decorated sedans and the Emperor will be Enthroned on the Golden Dragon Throne in the Main Audience Hall where the Empress will be officially introduced to the court and she will be given the Phoenix Seal signifying her authority and after the exchange of gifts between the Emperor and the Empress, the Empress will be paraded back to the Inner Place where every other Consorts and Concubines of the Emperor will greet her and pay respect to her, while the Emperor will be greeted by all the officials of the court and Lords of the Noble Houses will pay tributes in the Audience Hall.

Well! At least this was the usual tradition that has been followed till now...

The Coronation of the thirtieth Emperor of the Great Lu Dynasty and the Fifth Emperor of the Great Wind Kingdom was nothing like that... In fact it was extremely mind blowing that the entire court was baffled.

First of all, this was the first time in their history that there was no Empress Dowager to Crown the Emperor. So it was decided by the court that the Priestess should do the Crowning even though some people had opinions that the one who was previously a Consort cannot be a Priestess.

Also, the one chosen by the Emperor to be the Empress refused to conduct the wedding ceremony in the temple and the Emperor found that wedding ceremony unnecessary too for some reason and many in the court mysteriously agreed for this change in tradition.

So the Emperor was carried in a decorated Sedan to the Temple of the Wind God in his exquisite golden Imperial robes shining in the morning sun making the Emperor seem like an immortal descended on earth. His jet black hair pulled up on to make a bun contrasted with everything glistening on him and his green eyes prominently exuded the Imperial aura that had belonged to his ancestors who had preceeded him.

With the Emperor so dazzlingly prominent no one noticed the one in the Eunuch uniform walking beside the Emperor with his back straight that is highly unusual of an Eunuch and with the same mystic green eyes as the Emperor. His hair was changed to a darker tone by applying a powder given by the Emperor and he was proud to be by his brother's side when he is getting coronated as that was his wish. That little boy who annoyed him by following him and learnt a lot from him being officially instated as the Emperor.

Everything went normal as it should and the Emperor went inside the temple and offered his prayers with the selected officials who were behind him. The Prime Minister and all the men of the Huang Family and also Lord Zhong and his two sons stood immediately behind the Emperor as it is customary for including the High Nobles in all the ceremonies of the Kingdom, followed by the other Ministers of each department. The other officials were standing outside the Temple as the temple won't fit all of them inside.

The Priestess brought the tray with the new crown that was black with golden dragons flying to the sky on it and a lot of jade beads hanging. She picked that explicit crown designed and made to perfection to place it on the Emperor's head.

That's when that wonder happened...

Everyone inside felt an immense pressure and they knelt in the floor instinctively excluding the Emperor and the Priestess.

THOU SHALT BE NAMED, TONGTIAN!

A powerful voice in Guyu language echoed inside the temple from the dragon statue in the altar making everyone's heart skip a beat and shiver in their knees.

Is this actually the God speaking?

Just as they were wondering, they could see the Crown being placed on the Emperor's head by itself as the Emperor was bowing his head at the altar.

Did it just happen? Did the Emperor get Crowned by the God of Wind himself?

Even the Priestess was surprised by what's going on in front of her and others were petrified and even doubted their eyesight for seeing such indescribable and unbelievable things.

But here it is... It really happened right before their eyes!

So the Emperor stood in front of the temple and the coronation decree was read announcing the official name of the Emperor as 'TongTian' which literally means 'Connected to the Heavens' and there were witnesses who can prove that this Emperor is definitely connected to the Heavens.

Everyone outside saw the perplexed and amazed faces of those who were inside and wondered what they saw for them to have such an expression.

The Emperor was brought to the Great Audience Hall with various instruments playing in front of him and a lot of dancers performing for him.

On the way, many of them who were inside started to explain what they saw inside the temple to the ones outside and everyone seriously discussed whether the things that happened could be their imagination.

But only in the coming days when Empress Huang was 'alive', did they see a lot of new things and heard a lot of things that made them question everything they had known till now and they had to revere the Emperor as the one above all.
