“You are so foolish!”

The king screamed as he woke up. Alarmed, the maids rushed to his side with a panicked expression. This was the first time he had reacted this way after sleeping, causing them to be worried about what had happened.

“Your majesty, are you unwell? Is something bothering you?”

“No, nothing is wrong. Go back.”

In response to the maids’ worries, the king dismissed them with a wave of his hand. The maids politely bowed to him and slowly distanced themselves from him. However, they did not exit the bedroom.

He gasped for his breath and clenched his clammy fist.

The power of Insight was not simply magic. It is a tool used to dictate the world and all the people of the continent. Only by having this power imprinted in their blood was the royal family able to rule the continent in peace. By using it to discover the truth of the world, anything the individual desired could be granted.

Han Seo Jin is dream persona. Although he was unaware of reality and believes himself to be a member of the false world, he was still the same as him, the ruler of Lenorjian.

A personage like that could only produce ideas of….

“He dares to use Insight on such trivial matters?!”

***

Service engineer.

This was Han Seo Jin’s current title in the factory. His duties were to maintain and regulate the equipment at the semiconductor manufacturing facilities. Although his responsibilities seemed nice, all he did was wash toxic chemical wastes and check to see if there were any gas leakages daily.

As a factory production employee that doesn’t have a professional degree, the title was empty. He did not have the educational qualifications to be called an engineer. In his previous job, he was in charge of checking the quality of the finished products packed along the automation line, but now….
Enough of that talk. Recently, he had found enlightenment on the power of Insight so he has been diligently arriving at work every day. He carried around a notebook and checked the conditions of all the machinery. Not only did he observe the equipment of the assembly lines, but he also noted down his observations of the status of other machinery. This included fire and electrical equipment.

After checking the equipment in the factory and their conditions, he concluded that overall, the factory was working fine.

“Why is the defective rate only high inline 5? Where in the assembly line did the products get messed up?”

“From what I’ve checked, none of the machinery are malfunctioning.”

“What do you mean by that? Since there is a high defective rate in products inline 5, shouldn’t there be a malfunction in the process line?”

The engineer could not refute the chief’s scolding.

“The Director asked me to resolve this problem or discover the cause of the defection by the weekend. But you are saying that there were no abnormalities in the previous checkup. Isn’t that right?”

“I’m sorry.”

“If you’re feeling sorry, then please quickly discover the cause of the issue. At this rate, the entire assembly line 5 will need to be replaced. Do you know how much of a loss this will be?”

Han Seo Jin quietly gazed at the scolded engineer from a corner.

Even though they held the same title of ‘Service Engineer,’ all Han Seo Jin did was conduct maintenance on the equipment. On the other hand, the other guy was a real engineer that graduated with a professional degree. Those who graduated from college are incomparable to non-college graduates like Han Seo Jin. The knowledge that the other guy had was uncomparable to Han Seo Jin’s minuscule comprehension of machinery.

At his position, he turned to observe the 5th assembly line and attempted to use Insight to find out the issue. Suddenly, the Project Director walked over with a group of inspectors/engineers. Han Seo Jin slightly hesitated, as he was just a new employee that only had a high school diploma. If he got marked by his coworkers for stepping forward needlessly, his future time at work would grow more troublesome. But soon, he decided to step forward. After all, if he remained silent, then he would never get a chance to improve his situation nor have an opportunity to use the new side of Insight he had just learned.

“Sir… I would like to say something.”

“This is my first time seeing you. Who are you?”

“Yes! I am F1 Han Seo Jin!”

F1, this was the abbreviation that indicated that he was the lowest rank among the company’s engineers. Hearing his rank, the Director slightly frowned and narrowed his eyes. From the director’s facial expression, he was displeased about being interrupted by a low-level service engineer. But he still let Han Seo Jin state his purpose for calling him out.

“I see, so what do you have to say to me?”

“I heard that there was a high defective rate on the 5th line.”

“Indeed there is, do you have any suspicions for why?”

The Director’s demeanor expressed his annoyance, but he still was slightly intrigued by what Han Seo Jin had to say. All the other engineers stared at Han Seo Jin, some weren’t interested but most were hostile. They did not seem to appreciate his interference in their work, especially since he was only F1 ranked.

“The function for keeping the equilibrium of the PTS-3 automated process robot seems to be a tad unstable. This imbalance may be the reasoning for the high defect rate among the products.”

“The PTS-3 robot?”

The Director crossed his arms and frowned. The PTS-3 robot was a German state-of-the-art automaton that most of the present process engineers were not familiar/knowledgeable with.

“This is not part of your expertise, aren’t you a part of the maintenance crew? How do you know about this?”

“That… I….”

Han Seo Jin struggled to find an answer to that question. Although he was brave enough to come forward, he could not formulate a convincing reason why he knew.

“Han Seo Jin-ssi, what are you doing here? The other lines are backed up with work at the moment.”

Suddenly, his direct supervisor discovered that Han Seo Jin was among the higher-ranked engineers. He respectfully greeted the Director and retrieved Han Seo Jin.

“He is a member of my team. I will be taking him now.”

“Ah, you do that.”

As Han Seo Jin turned to his supervisor, his eyes met the Director’s gaze for a brief moment. The Director was a man in his late 30s, comparably young compared to others in his position at other companies. He wondered how smart the Director must be to achieve his high position at such a young age.

After distancing themselves from the group, the supervisor scolded Han Seo Jin lightly.

“Why were you amongst the group of engineers like a lost meerkat? If someone saw you, then they would think that you were part of their team.”

“Sir, I was checking on the state of the machines on the previous line and minding my own business. When suddenly, I was swept up into the conversation of the engineering team. The Director was criticizing a member of that team, so I thought it would have been awkward to leave while he was scolding…”

“In that type of situation, you don’t need to be tactful. Just leave. This isn’t your first work experience, yet you’re unable to figure out what was the proper thing to do? What did you do in the four years at the Jinsung Electronics factory?”

“I’m sorry.”

Han Seo Jin apologized and bowed his head slightly.

He had lied about his purpose, as the truth for his presence was unbelievable. His lie was somewhat unconvincing, but he was indeed swept up in the issue. Though, it was possible to leave the group immediately in that type of scenario.

He hadn’t left immediately due to the situation he was in. The Director’s lectures on his team allowed Han Seo Jin to speak up about the information he gathered from Insight.

[PTS-3 Horizontal Module Deterioration].

‘This was the reason for the 5th assembly line’s high defect rate.’

He had mustered up the will to tell the Director of this matter due to the discussion among the team at that time. His heart raced as he continued to think about what he had done. After he had stated the underlying issue of the PTS-3 robot, the Director’s displeased gaze lightened a bit. Moreover, he appeared to be slightly disappointed in the other service engineers present. If he still had his previous more passive attitude, he would have never had the courage to do that. Instead of getting noticed for his ideas, his older self would’ve retreated within his shell and ignored all the chances to go up. This was why he had lowered himself to change for the better.

Maybe it was due to his second chance in life, but he had gotten more courageous than before. He bit his bottom lip firmly.

‘If I do nothing, then I’ll become nothing.’

It didn’t matter if he succeeded in convincing the Director or only brought ridicule to himself. The fact that he dared to do so made him proud.

The king woke up from his dream and furrowed his eyebrows. Noticing his displeasure, his faithful vassal carefully asked him.

“Your majesty, are there any problems in the dream?”

“A problem… there may be a problem.”

“Please tell me about it.”

The king brushed his hair back. A sense of agony was emitted from the king’s face.

“What is the power of Insight to you?” he spoke angrily.

“It is a power that allows only a select few in the royal family to observe the truth of the world. This power is what determines the heir to the crown. Am I correct?”

The kingdom of Lenorjian was not inherited by the firstborn of the King. Even he, the current ruler of Lenorjian, was unable to dictate who the crown prince is. Unless his offspring had the power of Insight, the child would never be able to contend for the throne.

For those that do have the power, only the child with the strongest affinity to Insight would inherit the throne. By solely using this power, the kingdom of Lenorjian determined its next ruler.

“Isn’t the power to explore the truth and have mastery of everything? Through Insight, the ruler should be able to lead all the citizens of Lenorjian and have a peaceful reign? This is a noble power and yet ...”

The king was so irritated that he forego his dignity and ground his teeth together.

“To use it for such a trivial thing.”
