It was Mid-night as Glass lay awake in her crib. She didn't feel like sleeping and had a sense that something was going to happen tonight. She was about to get out of her crib when Maxfield walked into her room

"Couldn't Sleep, huh?" He said as he picked her up and carried her to his study. It seems he was also restless. His eyes no longer showed disappointment but had fatherly affection and curiosity.

Glass occupied herself with a new set of toys that were in her playpen in they were wooden blocks with letters of the alphabet on them there were two blocks per letter. Was he trying to teach her the alphabet, does he realize her age, she's only one year old.

She spent the next hours spelling words because she was bored. Then all of a sudden, she felt a killing intent. Someone just entered the Hall estate with a murderous aura. They were fast as and not only that it seemed as if they knew the layout of the estate. The unknown assassin was approaching the door to the study. Glass looked up at Maxfield and grabbed the letter D and throw it towards him. Maxfield looked up at her seemly confused that his one year old tossed an object at him. He got up and stride towards her with the block in her hand. As he came to her, she placed down two O's and One R in front of her. He then handed her the block, as she grabbed it and placed it with the other three blocks spelling the word door.

Maxfield was a little shocked to see his daughter spelled the word door. And remember Glass action's the past year she would always know when someone was at the door to his study. However, when he thought of this it seemed strange, he didn't wake any of the servants up, and neither was Miranda up. So, who was at the door. Glass just stared at him waiting for him to act, Maxfield was not dumb he could tell something was wrong. As he casted a spell and picked Glass up and moved away from the door.

The assassin barged in the next moment as he flung knives at Maxfield that were coated with poison. At the same time, his trap spell activated. It shocked the assassin as he quickly ran away. He casted another spell putting the estate into lockdown as an alarm created by magic rung throw-out. Causing the whole estate to awaken. Maxfield placed Glass back in her crib before heading out the doors.

Glass only needed one look at the assassin to get his name. He lived in the province and was in debt and an alcoholic. he had been paid to kill Maxfield. His sister works as a maid here, that's where he got his information from about the estate.

Glass sat in the playpen for another hour and still no one had returned. Feeling that she was tired she decided to sleep on the floor
