Due to the fact that Keren had said these words casually while still poring over the documents in front of her, it made Liz feel all the more awkward as she froze in place, understanding that the CEO was actually calling her out for the lunch that he had asked for yesterday.

This was the third time that they would be having a meal together, and all three times, she had been coerced into coming without her approval.

Even now, she considered whether to sit down and give some excuse so that she wouldn't need to go.

Yet, the words said by Keren last night came into her mind, making the curiosity to find out just what had happened to the CEO increase.

In response to Keren's words, the CEO had only glared at her and was still waiting at the door for Liz.

Seeing this, after a few moments of indecisiveness, Liz just looked down and walked out before saying, "Mr. Will, what was it you needed me for?"

In a loud tone which was obviously meant to be heard by his sister, Will said, "We have someone to meet."

"So you won't be having lunch after that?"

Hearing this response, the CEO covertly gnashed his teeth, making this one of the few times that Liz would see him one-upped by someone else.

Not choosing to challenge her anymore, he simply closed the door and started walking away while a faintly mocking laugh floated into the corridor from the conference room.

Seeing this camaraderie between brother and sister, Liz smiled softly to herself before following behind the CEO, not realizing that her impression about him had already begun to change slightly.

After he reached a certain point in the corridor, he paused and waited for her to arrive. As she did so, she saw that they were standing outside a hotel room in the casino.

"Inside here, there is an individual who worked with Xander during his stay in the US. The headquarters was able to locate him with great difficulty. The problem was that he was only in the lowest rung of the organization, so I doubt how much he knows. You have to meet him yourself, and give me an update about what he says. I have some other meetings to attend to ensure that the worst-case scenario of us not giving an answer and Xander going ahead with what he threatened won't happen. Even if it does, I'm trying to make sure that the entire plan won't fall apart. Don't worry, there are three security guards posted inside who will ensure your safety."

Saying this, the CEO noticed Liz's bewildered expression and he was just about to say something before his phone vibrated in his pocket.

Picking it up, he spoke for a few moments before urgently saying, "I need to go. I'll be back in a little bit to take you to lunch. Just pull out as much information as you can."

As Liz followed the CEOs back with her eyes, she tried to order her thoughts.

She was going to meet a member of a weapon manufacturing organization on her own, and her job was to extract information about his boss from him.

This was definitely not something that was written in the job description, but she knew that she had to do it.

The CEO had said that she would be safe, and she found that she trusted him in this matter. Hence, taking a deep breath and putting on a serious expression on her face, she walked into the room.

Yet, as soon as she did so, she paused as the one whom she was supposed to meet wasn't some scarred man like she had expected.

Instead, he seemed to be a slick businessman wearing a three-piece suit.

"Can we get this over with quickly? I have a meeting to attend."

Hearing this, Liz walked forward and sat down before saying, "As you wish. Please tell me everything you know about Xander."

One hour later.

Hearing a knock on the door, Liz got up and said to the man, "Thank you for not holding anything back. Please leave your number with the guard so that we can contact you if needed."

Saying so, Liz walked out to see the CEO still talking on the phone.

Yet, on seeing her, he nodded before leading both of them away in one direction.

On the way, Liz was completely absorbed in all the information she had just heard.

"So, what did he say? Anything important?"

"Well, if you ignore the fact that he told me about the rumors of Xander having a family in the US with which he eloped to Europe with, then no, he didn't say anything important."

When Liz walked forward and realized that she was now alone, she turned back to see that the CEO was actually looking at her with wide-open eyes, as if she had surprised him yet again.
