Chapter 27 – That’s Way Too Many!

We made sure with our own eyes that Kein accepted the quest from the adventurer’s guild.

After everyone was prepared, Maya and Sephilia were left in charge of watching over Kein, while Ana-hime dashed off to Mount Kuko ahead of them.

“There’s really no reason to hurry so much, ya know.” said Maya.

Lately, Goblin Lords could be found fairly quickly on the back roads of Mount Kuko.

“Um, the A rank people, will they, get in the way?”

The normally silent Sefilia rarely made predictions like that.

“Well, it’s possible. The A rank party has a lot of people. Are you suggesting we should give them a handicap?”

“Yes.”

That’d probably be okay. Even the reckless sword princess wouldn’t go as far as killing other people. And compared to the time when we had to move that Evil Dragon… 2 or 3 Lord class monsters shouldn’t be a big deal at all. If Ana-hime is satisfied, everything should work out well in the end. Although Abel’s party had A rank adventurers in it, so they would need to prepare themselves.

‘The middle-aged Kein might also have a lot of trouble so I want to watch him try and overcome this test’ Maya cheerfully thought. She took her time walking through Mount Kuko.

But then suddenly, she was left speechless.

“Ana-hime…… What is that?”

“Ah… I’ve just been gathering the three types of Lord monsters together?”

Goblin Lord, Orc Lord, Ogre Lord.

Even though the three types of Lord class monsters were relatively common, there was practically a mountain of them. Dozens and dozens of them, had been tightly bound by Orichalcon chains and forcibly dragged.

“You gathered way too many! With just a glance I can tell there’s probably more than a hundred here. Where and how did you get these!?”

Maya had even checked if more monsters than normal were coming down towards the human habitations. She had thought that the number of Lord class monsters hadn’t reached this high on Mount Kuko yet.

“I thought that there wasn’t enough yet, so I accidentally ended up at Mount Shide.”

“‘Accidentally ended up at’? No way! How in the world did you manage such a great distance, and in such a short time……”

While she was still finishing that thought, Maya let out a sigh.

It’s because she’s the sword princess Anastrea, the genius who can make the impossible somehow possible.

Things like distance, speed, weight, even the laws of physics don’t matter at all.

If it was a normal human, going there and coming back alone would take 2 days for that distance, even if you were somehow running as fast as a horse.

Meanwhile she was finding the monsters, beating all of them down, not to mention singling out only the Lord class ones, capturing 100 of them and binding them in chains. Doing all of that as if it was a piece of cake.

“I didn’t have any time to weaken them yet, so I’ll do it now one by one.”

“No, Ana-hime. You don’t need to weaken them any more than they already are.”

They had been forcibly dragged around at a ridiculous speed. Some monsters were practically in tatters and coughing up blood, while the rest had the orichalcum chains wrapped so tightly around their throats they were already practically dead.

“Ahh, see this is why weak monsters are no good. Just as I thought, it’s way better to prepare them in advance like the Evil Dragon.”

Lord class monsters were supposed to be formidable, B rank enemies. To the sword princess, they were similar to ants. Capturing and bringing them with her without also killing them was probably hard.

“GUoooOOOOON!”

Just then, an enraged cry sprung up from the mass of nearly dead monsters.

Another monster had pushed its way through. It was a man-eating demonic ogre, known as an Ogre King.

“Ara, looks like one of them was an Ogre King. How strange. Well that’s fine, I’ll just call it a boss character.”

As she spoke, the Ogre King used both hands to raise a gigantic iron hammer over its head, and rushed in towards her. The sword princess responded with a shiing shiing of her sword and cut his arms in the blink of an eye.

Even an Ogre King, an A rank monster, attacking with all his might was no more than child’s play for the sword princess.

“Ara, oh good, he’s still alive.”

“GuooooOOO!”

“Quiet! You’ve had your turn, now keep it down.”

“GugyaaaAAA!”

The Orc King screamed as blood spouted from both arms. The sword princess kicked him in the face and he was sent flying upwards, then landed in the pile of monsters once again with a thud.

It was like living through hell for the monsters. It wasn’t the dead writhing in pain and agony here though, it was monsters who looked like they could be the gatekeepers to hell themselves. Aside from that detail it was the very picture of hell.

Maya thought ‘Even if he is a boss, if you leave him here like this, he’ll die, won’t he? Well we’ve already come this far, so even pointing that out would be no help.’

“Should we position these monsters where that middle aged Kein will go by, then?”

‘Position’ was the word I used, but it’s more similar to abandoning a dead body.

“Yeah, I can do it. There was something I left unfinished earlier though, so I’ll go and do it now.”

“Still something left to do?”

“It’s, what was his name? That A class, blue haired, stuck up leader. He said some really conceited things to Kein. He’s pissed me off, so I’m going to take it out on him.”

“Don’t–!”

Maya was shocked, but the sword princess just laughed.

“Kein is all alone, but they have a lot of people in their party, isn’t it unfair? Putting a handicap on them will be fine!”

Regardless if your opponent is as weak as an ant, they will still strike back with all they have.

The sword princess Anastrea didn’t know the word ‘forgiveness’.
