"Are you okay?" I ask him, reaching a hand out to touch his face again. He doesn't stop my hand, he watches it with those golden eyes of his. He reaches his hand out and goes to touch my face, his fingers are chilled like he'd held them in the snow for too long.

I open my mouth to say something, but in an instant, a cold blade slides past my face, I feel a slight pain on my cheek. Then all of the sudden, a piercing scream echoes in the hallway. Turning my head slightly, I look and see that there is a ghost behind me, it's mouth was opened and disfigured into a huge jaw.

It slowly began to vanish as it was burned up by the knife that was sticking out between the ghost's eyeballs. A cryptic rune appeared on the ghost before it fizzled out and died. With the last scream, it truly vanished. The knife fell to the ground with a clattering, then there was easy silence.

"I'm sorry...I cut your face. It's very beautiful." His voice slide into my ear, it was smooth like satin. Turning back to look at him, I notice that half of his face was glowing with a similar rune to the one that had appeared on the ghost that had just died. It appeared to run down his neck as well, I noticed that it was also running along the hand that was still touching my face.

However, the glow quickly died down.

A blush took over my face at his words. "Thank you," I muttered removing my hand from his face, he does the same to mine and I sit there on my knees in front of him. "Why were you asleep here? This isn't somewhere, someone should nap." I speak quickly, I raise a hand and touch the cut that he'd left on my face.

"I just felt sleepy, that's all." He stated, rolling his shoulders a bit.

He didn't seem like the old lady, neither was he a ghost he had just killed one. Does that mean he is actually another Player in this game? Bitting my lip, I try to think everything through.

"Miss," his voice snaps me out of my thoughts," are you also looking for the exit?" He was now standing and looking down at me, he still looked tired, there were black bags underneath his eyes. Plus his eyes looked a little bloodshot, now that I was really paying attention to him.

"I am, and it's Alice," I say standing up and brushing some of the specks of dirt and dust off of my pants. "How long have you been wandering around here?" I ask.

He grabs me all of the sudden, pulling me behind his back and drawing out knives. Turning to look at what he sees, I quickly push my way around him and stand in front of him. Royal had come around the corner and he was about to try and kill him.

"Move." He barks at me, as he tries to throw a knife at him. His face glowing again with the strange Rune.

"Wait! That's my pet, don't hurt him." I quickly tell him, grabbing his arm he looks at me and then back towards Royal. Before he lowers his arm and I give him a grateful smile, turning I wrap my arm around Royals head, he nuzzles into my chest.

"This is Royal." I quickly explain, looking back towards the sleeping man. The glowing rune had vanished and his face was back to normal. He didn't move from his spot, he just looked at Royal with hesitant eyes.

After a second, he takes a step forward. "Did you summon him with your skill or did you tame him?" He finally asks as he pushed his hands into his pocket.

I hesitated for a moment, should I tell him. As if sensing my hesitation, he takes another step forward until he's only a couple inches away from me.

"I'm Haru an Exorcist, I'm also level ten. If you have any other questions you can ask me, you also don't have to answer my first question." He states simply, his voice was a low whisper, then he took another step backward's giving us some more space between us.

I was a little surprised he told me easily, we'd only just met less than five minutes ago. Could I trust him? Or was this another trick?

Turning my head, I look behind me. However, there is nothing not even a ghost in sight. Looking back towards him, I give a small smile.

"I summoned him, and I'm a level seven summoner," I told a half-truth, one couldn't be so trusting. I didn't want to seem weak, considering I was only level three. I felt a twinge of guilt lying to him, but I wasn't going to be trusting and naive either.

He leaned his head onto his hand as he gave me a peculiar look, but a small smile soon dawned on his lips. "Pleasure to be working with you." He replied evenly, reaching out his hand.

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, reaching mine out I take his hand. "Likewise."
