The sound of snoring woke me up, who was snoring? Blinking my eyes, I try to clear away the fog of sleep from them. Looking down, I see that the little Witch is still curled up in my side, her face was angelic.

She wasn't the one that was snoring though, had I been awoken by the own snoring. That couldn't be it, right? As if on cue the sound of snoring started again.

Twisting my head around, I find Haru sleeping in one of the empty chairs not even ten feet away from us.

He's got some blood and grime caked onto his face and his shirt is torn and his pants are also a mess, covered in what looks like mud. His whole body ozzed a feeling of dirtiness from it, along with something else it was sinister almost.

Just what in the hell had he gotten into?

Sliding out of bed, I try my best to not disturb the soundly sleeping little Witch at my side. Her face was soft and didn't have her normal worried look etched into it. At the moment, she did just look like a tiny little girl sleeping.

For some reason that was reassuring that someone could sleep as soundly as she did in this world. Brushing a strand of hair from her face, I move to the edge of the bed. Stepping onto the floor, I pad my way over to the chair that Haru is sleeping in.

His eyes are shut and he was snoring but for some reason, I didn't think that he was asleep. Well, at least not completely asleep. Bending down, I look at him. When he's asleep he is quite good looking and not annoying, ever since we've arrived in the town there been something off about him.

I couldn't say that it was an off-putting sensation but it made me feel like I was just another insignificant thing in his eyes. Moving some hair out of my eyes, I observe him for a bit longer.

Sighing, I decided that I would have to wake him up sooner or later. But before I could do that he'd already opened his eyes, the striking golden orbs of his stare at me.

I open my mouth wanting to say something, but the words get stuck in my throat as I watch his eyes start to change. The normal golden orbs start to morph and transform until one is golden and then the other glows an emerald green.

He dips his head forward moving closer towards me, I didn't know what was happening but for some reason, I was unable to move, it was like every bone in my body was locked in place.

His face stopped inches from my face, there was a huge pressure pushing down on my body. "Haru!" I shout I could feel my body again, I raise a hand and slap him.

The pressure completely vanishes as his one eye fades back to a golden color, blinking he shakes his head. I suck in a couple quick breaths as my body shudders, I'd never felt like that before it was like someone had been holding me down and I couldn't do anything to stop it.

"Alice... what happened?" He asks looking at me with a confused expression.

"I don't really know, but your one eye... it was glowing green, and I felt this pressure like it was so strong that I couldn't move," I say taking a step away from him.

Did he go see his friend already?

He reached a hand up and rubbed the back of his head, a coy look on his face like he was embarrassed. "I'm sorry, that wasn't intentional, it's just I went and saw my friend, she managed to unseal a fair deal of the levels that I had," he murmurs lowering his head.

How strong did he have to be to be able to stop me from moving, without being awake? I'm pretty sure that he'd done that subconsciously just now.

"I see," I respond as I move back towards the bed, rubbing the bracelet around my wrist. I could feel a good bit of rage emanating from Callista.

Rasing his head he gives me another apologetic look, before he pulled something out of thin air and tossed it towards me. I caught it easily, when I looked down it was a bracelet, it was simple it depicted a snake swallowing itself.

"And what this?" I ask twisting the bracelet in my hands.

"It's so you can communicate with me if some problem arises, I've actually got to leave this world," he says.

I looked down at the bracelet and then back at him, he was leaving already. He got on my nerve and did a lot of things that would make someone distrust him, but in the end, he'd helped me out a lot once we'd gotten to the town.

It was weird to think that'd we say goodbye to each other, without even really having known each other for more than a day or so.

"Where are you going?" I ask looking at him, he's got a small smile on his face.

"I need to head back to the Murderous Night, it's the world that I was trying to clear before I ran into some unfortunate events." He didn't elaborate about these unfortunate events, but I didn't see a need to pry about it.

"Is that somewhere I could go?" I ask him.

A hard look passed over his features but vanished and the cool smile replaced it, "I don't think you should head to that world just yet, it's not a place for beginners to travel to. You should keep leveling up and gaining for skills and combat experience," he says dismissing the idea.

I figured as much, it didn't sound like a place that I would want to venture to either way in the end. In the end, his words made perfect sense.

"When are you leaving?" I ask, twisting a strand of hair around my finger.

"Today, that's why I came to give you the bracelet," he chuckles as he stands up.

"Then this is goodbye?" I ask.

"Indeed, but don't worry with your luck I'm sure I'll see you soon. Take care not to lose that bracelet, if you ever run into trouble seek out a Shadow Mercanries outpost and they'll help you," he says as he walks to the door.

"Remember what I told you, don't go after the Knights of the Goddess," he threw over his shoulder as he left the room. The door closed behind him.

Taking a deep breath I flop back onto the bed. Looks like I only had myself to rely on, I smile to myself that was more than enough.
