Chapter 172: Chapter 172 – Are You From The Heavenly Palace?

“I am speaking Mandarin, would they understand me…”

Wearing a pair of headphones on his head, with a microphone in front of him, Ren Suo controlled Zhao Zili with the mouse as he looked questioningly at the people of the Federation who were looking at Zhao Zili.

As a priest, when Zhao Zili wanted to perform the healing miracle, he had to chant the prayers of the gods, as if saying, “All my good deeds are the glorious results under the wise leadership of the three gods. If you are grateful, you should thank them. I am only making a small contribution.”

Fortunately, after Zhao Zili was promoted to the rank of a Priest, his innate [Aura of the Priest] encompassed skills like [Sacred Persuasion] and [Sacred Stand], and Ren Suo no longer needed to toggle back and forth between the different ‘belief skills’ to create the effect of ‘devoted prayers’.

However, Ren Suo did not reach the level of knowledge where he could say the prayers in English, and the three gods were also limited in this regard, so Ren Suo just did as he had always done. Anyway, he was not seriously trying to spread the beliefs of the three gods.

At that juncture, many people at New York Harbor also saw Zhao Zili. Most of them were panicking and trying to escape—it was not an unexpected reaction to have upon seeing a person floating in the sky in the distance with a bazooka in his hand. The only reason one would not run away was that if their legs had gone weak.

However, the closer people were to Zhao Zili, the more unlikely that they wanted to escape. Instead, they would look up to Zhao Zili with a peace of mind as comfort and confusion were written on their faces—

Their comfort was the result of the [Aura of the Priest] so that ordinary people would not be hostile towards Zhao Zili. Their first impression of Zhao Zili would not be much different from seeing a giant panda;

Their confusion, naturally, was the result of them not understanding why an angel-like fatty would appear at such a time. Only very few people realized that the fatty was the Zhao Zili who appeared in “Holy Priest: Survival Battle”.

Although Zhao Zili had performed one round of treatment in Baiyun City in Xuan Nation, his fame did not reach the whole world in reality. Only the upper class of various nations remembered the person called Zhao Zili.

Apart from the people of Xuan Nation who remembered the meritorious fatty due to the “folk enthusiasts” who uploaded the entire healing process by Zhao Zili, that video was not circulated in other nations (they did not understand the contents of the interview). Hence, most people of the Federation naturally did not know of Zhao Zili’s presence.

Those who ran away did so because they felt that Zhao Zili was up to no good.

Nonetheless, their thoughts took a three-sixty the next second.

Ren Suo was too lazy to even aim and controlled Zhao Zili to launch a shot from the bazooka directly towards a densely packed area in the distance.

After a few shouts from the crowd, the area exploded in a sea of white light. The next moment, people found that nothing bad happened to them; instead, a guy who had fallen down while running away and had been stepped on was surprised to find that he was no longer in pain, and the bear-patterned underwears of the extremely plump people of the Federation, whose fats were squeezed in the crowd (such large figure was extremely rare in Xuan Nation), were also revealed—their waist had instantly become much smaller and their pants dropped.

“It’s the Holy Priest from Survival Battle!”

“Oh my lord, it’s the priest sent by the gods to heal us!”

“One more shot, I want to be even prettier!”

Note that those remarks were not heard by Ren Suo—his standard of English was not that high—but appeared in dialog boxes that popped up over the heads of people, which translated their words directly into Mandarin.

It seemed that the gods also knew that Zhao Zili had not mastered such language abilities and helped him by translating what they said directly.

Zhao Zili remained expressionless. After waiting for 3 seconds, the infinite bazooka was automatically refilled, and then he fired another shot towards the crowd, possibly encompassing estimated hundreds of people.

Nonetheless, the round of healing was not the main purpose of Zhao Zili for being there. He hopped from streetlamp to streetlamp, and soon reached the streetlamp on the edge of the port, as he stared at Liberty Island one kilometer away.

The warships surrounding Liberty Island also noticed Zhao Zili’s presence, and the police from the Federation near New York Harbor shouted to Zhao Zili as they went nearer to him, although they did not pull out their guns. It appeared that they had also received orders from their superiors to be friendly with Zhao Zili, who was an orderly and kind character.

At that point in time, numerous consecutive energy storms were occurring on Liberty Island, sending outbursts of explosions and rays of light. It was likely to be the Extraordinaires of the Federation hunting down Nine-tailed Fox disguised as a monkey.

However, Ren Suo could not control Zhao Zili’s to go to Liberty Island!

It was not that Zhao Zili did not have the ability to go over—he was equipped with [Superhuman Shield] which could cause water explosions just by stepping on the water, so it was not difficult for him to cross the sea on foot.

Instead, it was because a message popped up in the game when Ren Suo tried to control Zhao Zili to head over to Liberty Island:

[A high-dimensional barrier is present in front, and the area is temporarily inaccessible.]

This high-dimensional barrier was undoubtedly due to the presence of Nine-tailed Fox. The barrier was ineffective against ordinary people and only effective for the character controlled by Ren Suo.

Was Ren Suo prevented from intruding into the area using other characters on the game console, as the game “The All-Devouring Soul” had to prevent the core plot developments from being altered? Why was it only ‘temporary’ though?

Could he enter after some time had passed? Or could Ren Suo enter only if he were controlling a more powerful character?

Regardless, the fact now was that there was a transparent wall in front of Zhao Zili which he could not break, so Ren Suo had no choice but to let Zhao Zili remain at the best viewing position he was standing at while blasting the ground with the bazooka.

Before Zhao Zili descended, Ren Suo had exchanged for the [Great Mercy and Compassion Bazooka] and the [Robe of 108 Feathers] which were new additions to the Treasure of the Holy Light. The former was extremely effective when shot at dense crowds and could heal hundreds of people in one shot, while the latter could stabilize the healing effect by shooting out Holy Feathers every minute which could treat 108 patients each time.

Zhao Zili leaped around the harbor as he chanted the prayers expressionlessly and gave his blessings. Finally, he stood atop a streetlamp with the best view of Liberty Island and stopped firing his bazooka.

Suddenly, a loud explosion was heard from Liberty Island!

Ren Suo’s eyes lit up as he immediately activated Zhao Zili’s Talent of [Far Vision]. He could see objects more than a kilometer away directly with the naked eye, without the need for a magnifying scope!

It was the Monkey King with a body of golden flames as he was reborn from the fire!

“I have never heard about fighting against the Buddha, I only know about my ancient ancestor, the Heavenly Saint of the Heavenly Palace!”

“And I am the one who walked the road of the legend, the one who will take over the great inheritance, I am the new generation… Monkey King!”

The voice of the Monkey King resounded throughout New York Harbor, and the cheers of the people of the Federation stopped abruptly as they wondered about what was happening on Liberty Island.

At that juncture, Ren Suo heard someone speak in awkward-sounding Mandarin, “Mr. Zhao Zili!”

Zhao Zili looked slightly to the side and saw a few policemen of the Federation standing under the lamppost he was standing on. It was a pretty policewoman who had called out to him earlier.

If she had spoken in English, Ren Suo would not have cared about them; many other people had kneeled under the lamppost just now shouting words of “help”. They were essentially just noise to Ren Suo, who barely passed his level 4 English course. He would rather watch the entire process of the Monkey King being angered.

Zhao Zili asked, “What’s the matter?”

Upon hearing a reply from the final champion of “Holy Priest: Survival Battle” who was a Priest from the East, Vanessa sighed in relief. Amongst the policemen who were nearby, she was the only one who had studied in Xuan Nation and could converse in Mandarin.

She had to appease this “representative force of the gods” before the negotiators arrived.

Vanessa asked, “May I know why you are here?”

Zhao Zili remained silent for a moment before saying, “Me? I’m here to see this monkey.”

Monkey? Vanessa was stunned as she turned to look at Liberty Island in the distance. With her eyesight, she naturally could not see what was happening on the island, but at that juncture, her superior told her about the fact that “it was indeed a monkey igniting the Reiki Treasure of the Federation” through her earpiece, and then told her how to answer Zhao Zili.

Vanessa took a deep breath, then asked cautiously, pausing after each word:

“May I ask, Mr. Zhao Zili, are you from the Heavenly Palace?”
