Chapter 210: Chapter 210 – Clone

First, the 1-star keys were combined together to synthesize a 2-star key, and Ren Suo quickly received a [2-star Moonlight Key]. Combining it with the [2-star Space Key] and [2-star Resentment Key], Ren Suo received—

[3-star Key].

“Eh? What about its special effect?” Ren Suo muttered. He was slightly bewildered and looked at the key synthesis rules again. It was only then when he realized that he had missed a line:

[If the number of low-level keys (2-stars or less) makes up more than half of the base synthesis components of the key to be formed, the special effect of the key would be lost.]

“So, that means that although I am able to synthesize a 2-star key with 1-star keys, such a ‘man-made’ 2-star key would lose its special effect when it is used to synthesize a 3-star key…”

Although Ren Suo would not bet on his luck, it was true that a 3-star key with a special effect had a higher chance of giving additional items when it was used to activate a treasure chest. Now that the special effect of his key was lost, Ren Suo was also slightly depressed.

Based on such a setting, Ren Suo could tell that the Mini Worlds game console did not encourage him to acquire keys by ‘farming’ low-level Awakeners. Instead, it wanted him to acquire keys from stronger, more powerful Awakeners; otherwise, he would not need to think about receiving additional rewards in the future.

Next, it was the exciting moment he was waiting for—activating the treasure chest.

Ren Suo rubbed his palms but hesitated slightly when he was choosing the treasure chest to open. There were two 3-star treasure chests, but he could not remember which game each of them was acquired from.

At present, he had cleared two 3-star games, one of which was “The All-Devouring Soul”, and the other was “Endless Intrusion”.

Looking back at the rewards he received from the treasure chests which he earned from the cleared games, Ren Suo could deduce that the reward he received from the treasure chest of each game was somewhat related to the game itself. For example, [Jade Pendant of the Goddess of River Luo] was from “Over My Dead Body”, and [Fighter Novice] was from “The Hitman”. On the other hand, he received [Allure of Sweet Dreams] due to the special effect of the key, and the reward had nothing to do with the game itself.

In theory, whichever treasure chest he opened, the reward he received would be related to its corresponding game. Ren Suo originally intended to choose between the two 3-star treasure chests, but he could not tell which game either one was from. He could sort them by their chronological order in terms of when he received them… but unfortunately, Ren Suo had selected ‘sort by type’.

“It’s all up to fate then.”

[You have used ‘3-star Key’ to activate this treasure chest.]

[You have received the ability ‘Combat Warrior (Partial)’.]

“Combat Warrior?” Ren Suo muttered. He was stunned for a moment as he thought, ‘Was that one of the Trump Cards he had acquired in “The All-Devouring Soul”?’

In the game, the effect of Battle Warrior was that the All-Devouring Soul would be able to create a clone of itself with up to 100% inheritance. The All-Devouring Soul was able to create a clone of itself with the desired inheritance level, and an inheritance of 100% meant that its clone would have exactly the same combat power as the All-Devouring Soul.

[Combat Warrior (Partial)]

[Grade: 3-star Ability. Pre-requisites: None.]

[Effect: When activated, the player would be given a clone that is exactly the same as himself/herself (in terms of mindset, habits, physical body, and knowledge). The clone would be unable to think autonomously and would require commands from the player to move (the player cannot control the clone from long distances). The authority to command and control the clone can also be given to others. Depending on the combat power of the clone, the effect can last from 1 minute up to 180 minutes. The cooldown time is 24 hours.]

[Special Note: The combat power of the clone would not be greater than 76000. It will not inherit the effects of props, but it will inherit the effects of abilities. It is unable to switch between abilities on its own. The key searching system can be activated by the clone.]

[Remarks: Don’t think of getting your clone to learn more knowledge; even if you command it to do so, the learning experience will not be transferred to your own mind.]

The remark stated in the ability’s description was especially relevant; it completely echoed Ren Suo’s thoughts at that moment. He had thought that the ability would have a similar effect to a banned and bugged skill that could allow his clone to study on a large scale for him.

In the end, that ability was just like other Doppelganger abilities, and he could only summon a fighter for him to use… No, that’s not completely accurate either—the clone could be a servant too. Ren Suo decided that the clone would be the one spring-cleaning the house the next time.

Nonetheless, it was the number mentioned in the first line of the special note in the ability description which made Ren Suo scratch his head. What was meant by “the combat power of the clone would not be greater than 76000”? After several minutes, he finally remembered—was that not the combat power of the All-Devouring Soul when he cleared the game?

Ren Suo was not hopeful that he could reach the level of the All-Devouring Soul in terms of combat power. As for the effective duration of the ability, however, it depended on the clone’s combat power. Based on Ren Suo’s present combat power, it would likely only last 2 hours, or even less.

It was troublesome to have to command the clone at all times though. That meant that the clone could rarely be put to use in reality, except for running errands nearby.

Otherwise, if other people saw Ren Suo controlling someone who looked exactly like him on the street, the onlooking crowd would probably suspect that the server called “Earth” had stopped working and think: This person’s icon has split into two!

Nevertheless, now that Ren Suo had acquired a new ability, he had to try it out.

Ren Suo immediately equipped himself with that ability and said in his heart: [Combat Warrior (Partial)], activate!

A split second later, a naked clone who looked exactly like himself appeared in front of Ren Suo.

Ren Suo scrutinized the clone, and even he was a little embarrassed—it felt strange looking at a person who looked exactly like him moving about in the living room completely naked.

At the same time, Ren Suo also found out the effective duration of the clone: 2 hours and 53 minutes.

The longer the clone lasted, the weaker that ‘Ren Suo’ became… However, Ren Suo was not upset; he was already rather glad that he could have a clone who could last for such a long duration. He instructed his clone to put on some clothes and clean the house thoroughly.

In the meantime, Ren Suo began playing his game.

He started the fourth checkpoint of “The Mage Under the World Tree”. This time, Ren Suo created a very handsome red-haired mage. Ever since he set up a ‘devastating parting’ storyline in the third checkpoint, Ren Suo had somewhat been looking forward to having someone else fall in love with the game character he created.

Hehe, Ren Suo just thought that it would be quite interesting for that to happen, not because he purposely wanted to do so… Maybe not… He was actually looking forward to watching someone fall in love with the mage, and then, he would make the mage sacrifice himself heroically and eventually die.

In an epic fantasy adventure, there had to be love, hate, and partings for it to be adequately thrilling. Ren Suo was already getting slightly bored from fighting monsters all day long, but the interactions with people from Earth made it more interesting for him.

The fourth checkpoint was set in a beautiful forest. However, no one from Earth could be seen on the screen, and there were only huge groups of low-level monsters like Goblins around.

Red Hood and the other mages also appeared together with Mage, and their companion from the fourth checkpoint also emerged in silence. She was a female mage who wore a black hooded coat.

The mage sneered: [I am Nimue, the Magic Wrist Mage. Haha, I didn’t expect to see the few of you here too. The mage from the outside world must be pretty skilled.]

Red Hood replied: [Ahhh, how do I make you die ‘accidentally’ in the battle later?]

Lumpena rotated her staff and said: [Everything happens according to fate’s plan. Although I do not fancy such a meeting, I will still accept it peacefully.]

Elaine said: [Stop fighting. Since all of you are still alive, can’t you just all die together later? You can talk to your heart’s content after you die.]

Regardless of whether they were Sacred Hand, Magic Wrist, or Fate, those mages could never get along well with one another. Whenever they met, they would definitely greet each other with sarcasm, as if they were extremely uncomfortable with each other’s presence. Ren Suo was already used to that and quickly led them to fight the monsters.

After the first three checkpoints were eliminated, the powers of the previous Holy Grails were transferred to the subsequent four checkpoints. As such, the strength of the monsters which appeared further increased. Without the help of an army from Earth, Ren Suo was certain that it was going to be a long battle. He thought that he would not even be able to reach the boss of the checkpoint if he did not play through the night.

With his foresight, Ren Suo commanded his clone who was cleaning his house and said, “Go to the third floor of the dining hall to help me buy a large portion of crayfish, a large portion of fried snails, a bowl of dumplings, and barbecue… less than 100 points worth of barbecue, you should know which items to pick, right? ”

The clone nodded and said, “I know the taste preferences.”

“Here, take the wristband and bring back the food,” Ren Suo commanded. He thought for a moment, then stopped the clone and said, “If you meet anyone familiar along the way, remember to be friendly and greet them… Forget it, it will be better not to talk to them, just smile warmly at them.”

The clone nodded to indicate that he understood him, and Ren Suo also continued playing his game at ease.

The clone was a product of the Mini Worlds, and it had to be an excellent, outstanding product. Moreover, it was a clone that would disappear very soon, so Ren Suo naturally had nothing to worry about.

Furthermore, Ren Suo had made his instructions extremely clear. Could the clone possibly still create trouble?
