The sound of birds chirping was very refreshing to her ears. At the veranda railing, there was a small Blue Jay bird jovially chattering. Its sound was so endearing for her to peer her unfocused eyes to the bird. She then realised that she had left the window at the living room ajar to let out the dust as soon as she arrived at this old house. Then , she forgot to close it. Thankfully , nothing bad happened and she too didn't get flu for being exposed to cold night air for the whole night.
Yesterday , after she finished her mission at the Mansion West Wing , she went back to her adopted parents' house at the countryside of the West City after three years she had not gone back. To her , the house had no meaning even if she returned home. Only sadness waiting for her at that house. However , she decided to push herself and fight the sadness this time around. So the journey back home took her almost another three hours. To save the balance money in her bank account , she only took taxi to the nearest bus terminal and bought a ticket back to her hometown. Luckily , there was a fixed trip that travelled to her hometown from the city.
Unlike Mansion West Wing , this house was very mediocre with its moderate house size. The whole area was 1/50 of the mansion. There was no fence separating the house and the walkaway pavement. The house only had three bedroom , a kitchen area that have a dining table in the middle space and a small living room. The biggest room was the master room naturally occupied by her late adopted parents , the medium sized room was the guest room and the smallest one was her room.
Because the house was so lonely , she didn't dare to sleep in any of the room so she just spent the night laying on the couch in the living room for the entire night. She always been this carefree since she was small and mom kept on nagging at her to fix this behaviour. Sadly , no one would remind her again and again anymore since three years ago. She really missed hearing those nagging and it somehow turned to be the medicine for her insomnia. Once the dawn almost hit the night , she would imagine the voice of her mother as if she was still around her at that moment.
Looking at that Blue Jay, her mind drifted back to the past where she was only twelve years old. To her , Lucy Wilson was the most loving mother in this whole universe.
One day, Lucy told her about the story of Blue Jay bird or popularly known as Blue Jay. Blue Jay was a symbol of loyalty and endurance as they kept the same partner for the rest of its life. They are aggressive to any potential attackers who aimed to destroy their home. If you get too close to its nests, it may bite you till bleeding.
Her mother once witnessed a fragile Blue Jay fought with a huge owl roost that was nearby its nest. Perhaps the Blue Jay thought that its home was in danger and the owl was about to attack so it made an advanced move to the owl and its action agitated the owl. Both of ended up fighting however shockingly that weak bird managed to defeat defeat the owl, leaving a big part of the owl with no feathers on its body. Most likely that the Blue Jay knew its advantage over the owl during the daytime as the owl didn't have clear sight during the day so the Blue Jay exploited its upper hand to finally beat the owl although in term of size , the owl definitely won.
"Mia my daughter, do you want to be like the Blue Jay ?"
"Yes , mommy. It's so small but it has the power to fight the big bird."
"So , one day , if mommy and daddy are no longer by your side , can you protect yourself afterwards?"
"Mommy … why do you say like that ? I want to live with both of you forever. I'll follow mommy and daddy wherever both of you go. You won't abandon your daughter right mommy?"
"Even if when you get married? Don't you want to spend your life with your prince charming my daughter?"
