"You want me to believe this story?" Liu Yifeng stood up and walked upto Liu Gengxin.
A bone cutting feeling kept moving across Yifeng's whole body. The anger he controlled all through Gengxin's story telling pierced out through his mouth "Can you guarantee me that you have no affair with her?" raising his hands to strangle his brother.
Gengxin who was left puzzled with his brother's previous question snapped back to senses when he heard the words "affair with her" and threw his brother's hands aside in fury.
Gengxin who held all his emotions deep in heart, couldn't control himself and took out his mobile to make a call calming himself.
"Bring all the reports of Yi Ziwei" a few words came out from his mouth before the call ended.
And he tapped on the mobile screen to send his assistant a text of the location and without bothering about his brother, he turned and walked upto the kitchen to get himself a cup of tea.
Yifeng who observed his brother for a few minutes, decided to stay calm as he guessed the next explanation his brother's about to give him.
"Drink it" Gengxin pushed a bottle of juice to Yifeng's side and got seated facing his brother.
Gengxin stared at his brother taking a small sip of his tea. "I just did my job as a doctor, and there's really nothing more for me to do with her" he said placing the cup on the table.
"What nothing, my foot. If he knows about the mess happened in the hospital, he'll kill me" he thought in his mind and felt sorry towards Yifeng for hiding many things from him.
"And you worry about the scene before..." Gengxin chuckled. Gengxin started to use his skills on his brother as he knew his brother's heart.
"Do you even know your wife?" he continued his words while glaring at his brother.
With Gengxin's wild stare, Yifeng fell into confusion as his words turned out to be different from his expectations. Liu Yifeng who never experienced what being taunted feels like got an experience with his brother's speech.
"She's in an unimaginable pain all the time she's been here with you, and you never once noticed her being sick. To you, She might be just a woman working under you. But to the world, she's your beloved wife".
Yifeng's face suddenly turned pale on hearing his brother.
Gengxin who kept glaring at his brother slowly changed the look on his face with a smile replacing the rage. "My dear brother, I don't know how much you know about her and how you treated her before. But atleast from now try to care for her, unless you want her to stay with single leg for the rest of her life". His words sounded as if they are mocking Yifeng for being reckless.
Liu Yifeng felt a deep pain in his heart when he heard the things he didn't know about Ziwei from his brother.
He then suddenly remembered the doctor in the morning saying him how she managed to tolerate such immense pain and giving him a very complicated explanation regarding her treatment.
"Is her condition really serious?" his voice trembled and his face with worry.
All through the four months of time period, most of the the time he spent with her was when he made her to accompany him while attending some gatherings and dinners. He never once had a heartful talk with her and moreover he always ended up troubling her.
How would he know about her and her health issues, when he never once cared for her and used her as a doll just to clear the troubles he had in his mind.
"Is her condition really serious?"
Gengxin didn't respond but stared at his brother's face in amusement. "You are really something. Now, I understood why she cried so much holding me".
But only he knew the real reason why Ziwei cried before holding onto him that heavily. He just wanted to use the scene of her crying as an advantage.
"Aren't you the one to take her to the clinic in the morning?" his voice sounded cold. A faint tone of voice came out of Yifeng's mouth "yeah...." Yifeng couldn't figure how his brother knew about him taking her to the hospital.
Gengxin felt at ease as his brother was left with a small piece of humanity in him. "If not for your assistant, you couldn't even dare to imagine what I would have done to you by now" Gengxin got up from his seat picking the cup from the table.
"Did my assistant tell you about her?" Yifeng questioned his brother in surprise. He first scolded his assistant in his heart for talking about the incident with Gengxin. But later he thanked him, when he realised that only because of his favour he came to know about Ziwei's health issues.
"I somehow bumped into him, when I asked about you, he explained the situation" Gengxin said in low yet audible voice walking towards the kitchen.
"He pleaded me not to mention about Ziwei before mom. Besides not taking care of her, you even tried to hide the issue" Gengxin stopped walking.
"Just why, you are being this rude to her?. Have you forgotten how much she's been struggling to save you from mom?" he turned his head to stare at his brother.
Just then he noticed Yifeng with his head lowered and hands covering his face where he seemed to be worrying.
"I'm worried mom would rush here to serve Ziwei instead of taking care of herself" Yifeng said removing the palms covering his face. Inside his heart he cursed himself for misunderstanding his own brother. But he couldn't get why Ziwei mentioned having an affair with Gengxin.
"I'll take responsibility of Ziwei and I want you to personally operate on her" Yifeng said in a pleasing and requesting tone which left Gengxin surprised.
Its his first time to hear a request from his brother. Even before Gengxin could reply, the door bell rang. Yifeng walked upto the door and on opening the door, he found his brother's assistant with a huge packing box in his hands. Yifeng soon gave a helping hand in carrying the box into the living room.
"Sir, I thought it would be better to get all her stuff" the assistant said while placing the box on the table.
"Good, you may leave now" Gengxin walked into the living room from the kitchen after putting the cup in the kitchen.
Gengxin sat on the chair next to his brother and rolled his eyes indicating him to open the box. Yifeng understood his brother's look and opened the box.
On looking inside the box, Yifeng was left shocked. The whole box was filled with scan reports, medicine boxes, X-ray pictures along with some other women's stuff.
"Are all these hers?" Yifeng turned to ask his doctor brother. More than sadness, a fear filled his heart making him to shiver and made his words to get stuttering.
"Hmm..." Gengxin replied taking out some pictures out of the box. Anyone can understand on looking at the pictures that they were all pictures of bones.
"See, here..." Gengxin started to explain her condition to his brother showing him some X-ray pictures.
Yifeng who never heard such complicated medical terms before couldn't understand his brother's lecture.
Yifeng cried in his heart, for being useless and for being uncapable. He never treated her just as a worker under him. But, he ultimately failed in caring for her.
She was at first brought into the villa by him to act as his girlfriend, to gain freedom from the dates his mom's setting up for him.
Later, to avoid further complications from his mom, he said his mom that he got married secretly and showed fake marriage photos he took and by making a contract with Ziwei.
