Chapter 103 - The school’s entrance was an amazing place (2)

“What kind of apartment?” The Lu’s were in real estate in their earlier days, albeit mostly high-end apartments or office buildings, but the idea was the same, and he was somewhat familiar with them.

“Oh, they are two-bedroom apartments. I have taken pictures of their floorplans. Let me show you. Heh.” Having said that, Su Ran pulled up the pictures of the floorplans that she had taken earlier and showed them to Lu Shao.

She tried very hard to remind herself that this was a boss next to her! Not a normal person. That being said, standing next to Lu Shao while waiting for their kids to get out of school, Su Ran couldn't help but think of him as just another parent and chatted with him like he was one of them.

All she could say was, the school’s entrance was an amazing place. Whether two parents know each other or not, as long as they were standing there next to each other, they would be able to come up with something to talk about.

Seeing that Su Ran was showing him her cellphone, Lu Shao’s look lingered on her delicate fingers for a few seconds before he looked at the floorplans.

The two-bedroom apartments weren’t very big, but the layout and brightness were decent.

With one exception…

“The master bedroom seems to be a bit on the small side.”

Both of the floorplans had the same issue – both bedrooms were almost the same size. It was difficult to even tell which one was the master bedroom.

“Not that small, it is just the two….”

Before Su Ran finished talking, Lu Shao lifted his hand for some reason and Su Ran reflexively took a step back and retrieved her hand.

Su Ran, “……”

Lu Shao, “……”

“Ahem, pardon me.”

“Em, on your sleeve…” Lu Shao cleared his throat and pointed at a spot on Su Ran’s sleeve that had some dirt on it.

Even though he only lifted his hand reflexively, considering that she was a married woman, his action was a bit abrupt.

Reminded by Lu Shao, Su Ran lifted up her hand and saw a patch of dirt on her right sleeve. It was probably from when she was helping DaBao’s grandma with her boxes. The spot was close to the back, so she hadn’t noticed it until now.

“Oh, thank you.” Su Ran smiled awkwardly as she pulled out a tissue to wipe herself clean. She didn’t talk to Lu Shao again.

Even though it was just a misunderstanding, what had just happened still silenced the two parents.

“Uh, um, thank you.”

“No problem.”

“Um, em, would you like an orange? It’s pretty sweet?” Su Ran suddenly remembered the oranges that were given to her by DaBao’s grandma. To ease the awkwardness, she pulled out two of them.

Su Ran’s original idea was just to find a subject to ease the atmosphere. She didn’t think the Lu Boss would really want the oranges.

To her utter surprise, Lu Xun accepted the two oranges that she pretended to offer up to him.

“Hmm, thank you.” Lu Shao thanked Su Ran as he took the oranges from her. He then started peeling one of them with his other hand.

Through the process, Su Ran noticed another detail.

When he was peeling the orange, he yanked off the entire protruding part along with the stem and leaves then opened up the orange into two halves….

Was that really the best way to go about doing it?

Wasn’t the normal way to poke a hole on the bottom then peeled from the hole out?

“What’s the matter?” asked Lu Shao when he noticed that Su Ran was staring at the orange in his hand.

“Oh haha. Nothing. I’m just looking. My son peels his oranges the same way too.”

She recalled her own son peeling his orange that way as well. Su Ran really wanted to have a discussion with this parent whether there were any benefits in peeling oranges that way, or was that that was the popular way to do it nowadays and that she was just out of style?
