The Icy Mountains, I can already see it from here. The more I go farther in the Tundra, the more I feel the tremendous coldness of its nature. I slowed down a bit because the coldness here right now is beyond tolerable. If I continued with my speed, I might freeze to death.
"FLAP FLAP FLAP!" I heard the flaps of wings from afar and it's getting closer and closer.
We've traveled this place many times and I'm sure that we haven't met any airborne monsters so far. I sensed a tremendous power from that monster. Because of consuming soul stone, I have gained the passive to sense a monster's power. I decided to stop flying and run silently instead to avoid further delays.
"FLAP FLAP!" I knew it! It was an Ice Wyvern, a World Boss! The day it shows up is the day we are having this competition. I blame the coincidence.
It seems it is its time to hunt for food. Sooner or later the other participants will also be here and they will become the food of the ice Wyvern. The wyvern just flew in circles looking for prey. Jeez, it's hard to travel. It might find me in a single wrong move.
Thanks to my sneak mastery, I find my way out of its sight and managed to reach the base of the Icy Mountain.
"Why in the world is the Ice Wyvern, a World Boss, showed up? This will be bad for our participants, how can they surpass this kind of challenge?!" Aika also saw the Ice Wyvern.
"This wasn't part of the plan. We never expected a World Boss to just show up out of nowhere. They must take caution or they will be wiped out in an instant." The old geezer commented.
-Near Icy Plains-
"Sir we received a report that Scythus stopped using his flight spell. The bad news is we heard that he found an Ice Wyvern in the way." One of the Order of Light members reported.
"What? How can we get the requirement if a World Boss roams around the area? We need to rethink our plans or it'll just go to waste. Just keep updated." He ordered.
"Are things ok Zeth?" Mari asked.
"Everything is ok, so far. But I'm kind of worried because they said that there's a World Boss near the Icy Mountains."
"That's a bad news. Even with the combined forces of the strongest guilds, there's a high chance we will be wiped out." Mari said.
"Yeah, I know. But it will not be a reason to stop the tournament. Anyway, just focus on riding. We are already near the Icy Plains. Wear your thickest clothes." He ordered.
-Middle of Icy Plains-
"Darn it. Our horses are getting slowed down again by the thick snow." Dragoons are already in the middle of Icy plains. And because of the weight of their horses being really heavy, they sink to the snow.
"Sir, we should be careful now. We've got a report that there's an Ice Wyvern near the Icy Mountains. If it spots us here, we are all in trouble." One of Dragoon's scouts reported.
"Ugh. Another problem. This time the three of my strongest men and I are going to the Icy Mountains to gather the materials. You guys stay here and wait for us." Drake ordered. Their plan is to get the requirements and go back as soon as they can, it's faster and safer.
"Yes, Sir!" The remaining members made a small camp to rest. Their horses are still in shape. Their mounts are well trained and most durable and faster than any other guilds' horses.
-The Entrance of the Icy Plains-
"This is our first time here in the Icy Plains... It's really cold, I really hate it... Sssss..." Venum said while wearing multiple layers of clothes.
"A true man never fears the cold. I heard snakes die fast when it's cold. Better be careful here snake." Bludgeon replied. With Venum's consumed soul, his resistance to cold decreased a lot. That's why he's really not doing so well.
"I can keep up, don't worry... Anyway, there's an Ice Wyvern at the Icy Mountain... What's your plan? Ssssss...?" Venum asked.
"Beat it, of course. A true man never surrenders." A hot-headed and saying a true man all of a sudden...
"You're naïve if you think you can defeat a World Boss... We must avoid it at all cost... We don't have time for such things... Sssss..."
"Just bring your strongest warriors and just get the tooth. It's not that hard you know, you and your cowardliness and petty tricks. ACHOOOO!" Bludgeon replied and sneezed after that. His armor doesn't provide any cold resistance.
"See? You're already catching a cold... Don't be stubborn and do what I suggested. It's better to be more careful than risking with your courage alone... Ssss..." Venum, unlike Bludgeon, uses his brain more often.
Vanguards, Feywilds, Storm Seekers and Drowned Trident Guild are traveling at the same time. Unlike the other guilds that are already in the front, these guilds are neutral. They don't intend to join some useless fights and just focuses on completing the elimination round instead. They also only brought their trusted warriors and left their army to avoid unnecessary casualties.
Feywilds are the players who are living at the far northeast of Raven's City. They are living in a city surrounded by forest. They are near the elves' location but they don't want to mingle with them because they think of elves as monsters and for them, monsters are allies because they are good when it comes to Taming Mastery. They want peace so they avoid contacts with other Guilds. Their combat specialties are hunters and rangers.
Storm Seekers are the players living south-east of Order of Light's City and also far east of Green Leaf Village. Their place is somewhat prone to thunderstorm and rain. Because of their unnatural climate, they are having trouble living at their place making their population really low compared to other cities. They are well-known for their spellcasters that cast powerful lightning.
Drowned Trident is one of the farthest places. They are at the far east of Raven's City and are all living at the side of the Sea. Their Dark skins show how they love to take a swim at the beautiful sea. Their powerful Water spells can even shatter the hardest of rocks.
"The four powerful guilds are traveling at the same time. Did they make an alliance?" We will find it out later! The Ice Wyvern still haven't left the area. What will they do? Let's stay tuned!" Aika reported.
