“I’m a man, I can’t produce milk, okay?!”

Please, someone teach this rat how human body works!

“Hii, gyaaaah!”

“O-oh. Wrong, wrong. I’m not angry at you~”

The younger sister in my arms reacted to my angry voice and started crying even louder.

“I didn’t say anything about having you suck milk, did I?”

The fluffy rat Alba Gelman raised his empty hand (the other one was holding the staff) and shook his head with an expression as though he was about to facepalm.

He broke into a grin.

Don’t get on my nerves, rodent.

[TL/N: I know that there’s a discrepancy, but I guess it’s the issue of rat going his pace and thinking sth random like that]

“What you’re to do is to help with breast-feeding. You’re the father, so it should be obvious, no?”

“Now stop there! We’ve just met today, and while it’s nothing to be proud of, I’ve never touched any woman other than my mother!”

“That’s indeed nothing to feel proud about. What a miserable eldest son. When I was young, I was so much more popular than you.”

Shut up! You just stay quiet, old man!

“Nope. There’s no doubt that you’re their father, you know. Let’s talk about this during breast-feeding. The kids are too pitiful to make them wait.”

“E-err, Kunpei-san.”

Aoinoun started to pull at my sleeve.

“Uncle would never say anything irresponsible when it comes to dragons. My mother said I can believe him no matter what. That aside, when it comes to dragon species, there’s no person with deeper knowledge than uncle.”

“You too, aren’t there too many things you don’t know?! It’s about your kids, you know!?”

Other things aside, what’s up with not knowing how to feed infants?

“S-sorry. Dragons rarely increase in numbers. Until yesterday, I was the youngest dragon, and…”

Aoinoun lowered her head with a red face.

“I-it was the first season when I laid eggs, not to mention it came faster than it normally does for dragons. My mother also didn’t expect that I’d have children so quickly, so she promised to teach me a lot of things when we meet again, but…”

“As I thought, it seems like that child hasn’t taught you those. Well, I also completely haven’t expected that you’d be laying eggs soon, let alone them spawning life… I guess it can’t be helped.”

Alba Gelman folded his arms and cocked his head.

Why the hell did he have to do everything in such an exaggerated way?

“W-where’s mom.”

“Let me see, the last time I’ve seen her was 40 years ago. As for where she is now, well…”

Hmm?

Eh?

“Kazamachi-kun. Dragons have quite the long lives,” Officer Doge told me as she moved the folding screen.

Wut?

“Aoinoun, you… how old are you now?”

“Hm? I think I’m about 250 years old…”

Huh.

“Eeeeeeeeeh?!”

Impossible! I mean, no matter how I look at her, she looks younger than me?!

While the incredibly shocked me was busy being confused, Shouhei popped up from the direction of the folding screen.

“Bro, you’d better study some more. Maybe it’s not common sense, but usually people know such things.”

“Tell him, Shouhei. Tell him what happens when he doesn’t study at school. It’s one of those things that usually come up when you chat with friends, you know. Stuff like legends and gossip about dragons.”

My old man patted my shoulder while making a sad face.

“It can’t be helped if you don’t have friends. Cheer up.”

“S-shut up!!!”

Don’t console me!

“Hey, the preparations are done. I can’t look at them cry anymore, so just get a move on and go, Bro. I don’t really get it, but you’re needed there, right, Bro?”

T-that’s why I’m saying! Just why am I the father!?

“Please. Uncle knows more about dragons than we ourselves do. As for why is that…”

Aoinoun glanced at Alba Gelman on her arm, then looked back at me.

“…it’s because he’s the only doctor in the world specialized in dragons.”
