Seeing the two men at the door, Rong Lihua called for Kang Jun.

Once Kang Jun arrived, a voice said.

"Jun!"

Hearing the familiar voice of Elder Kang, Kang Jun frowned.

Since Kang Jun had arrived, Rong Lihua who had her head low, bowed and then she made her way back into the kitchen, leaving the men to enjoy each other's company.

Once they were alone, Kang Jun's gaze swept over both men but he chose to ignore Secretary Rong and talk to only his grandfather, instead.

Kang Jun: "What are you doing here?"

The elder scoffed. Wasn't it obvious? He wanted to meet Lu AnLing sooner rather than later.

Kang Jun had promised him that he could have a formal meeting with Lu AnLing this week, but the man had suddenly cancelled on him because he was bringing the girl on a trip, so Elder Kang brought it upon himself to come and meet her before they left. Or else, he felt like he would never be able to meet her.

Though, Elder Kang didn't say that...

Instead, he revealed the little girl who stood behind Secretary Rong and himself before he said, "I came to drop Mei off... though I think that I should stay here with her. I haven't seen Mingyu in a long time, also, I would love to spend time with them."

Hearing this, Kang Jun frowned at his grandfather but seeing Kang Mei Xue's face brighten at the thought of spending time in Kang Jun's home, the man began to feel a strange emotion.

He wasn't sure what to call it. Though he knew that it came from the knowledge that this girl could be his and Lu AnLing's biological daughter.

For a second, Kang Jun didn't know what to say. He just couldn't wait to get this all solved, in France.

Kang Jun continued to plan what needed to be done in his mind, but then, snapping out of it, he looked at both Elder Kang and Kang Mei Xue.

Kang Jun put his hand on Kang Mei Xue's head and then looked at Elder Kang in the eyes.

"Fine, you can stay... but," Kang Jun said as he turned to look at Secretary Rong. "He has to go."

There was no way Kang Jun would allow Secretary Rong to stay in his house. He already found it annoying that the man stayed in the main house without restrain, there was no way he would allow him to stay in his own house and do the same.

Hearing Kang Jun's statement, Secretary Rong frowned and then he turned to his master who didn't seem fazed by what Kang Jun had said at all. Instead, Elder Kang shrugged and said,

"Fine."

Secretary Rong wanted to argue but before he could, Elder Kang turned to face him and said, "Since you'll be away, go find my wife,"

To this, Secretary Rong sighed. This would be a hard job, he probably wouldn't be able to find her in only a week and a half but he had no choice but to nod, and say, "Yes, sir."

Both Elder Kang and Kang Jun couldn't contact Grandmother Kang. They would have been more worried if this wasn't normal for the woman. But they both had things they wanted to talk to her about so sending Secretary Rong to find her, at this moment, would be like killing two birds with one stone.

Elder Kang: "Report to me daily."

Secretary Rong nodded once more before he said, "I will, sir."

With that said, Secretary Rong left.

When the man was gone, Kang Jun invited Elder Kang and Kang Mei Xue inside. Once inside, Kang Mei Xue smiled and said, "Thank you for inviting me into your home."

Kang Jun found her reaction strange but when he began to think about it, he noticed that she had never come to his house before.

Unlike Kang Mingyu, Kang Mei Xue had always been by Qiao Lan's side. While Kang Mingyu was being physically abused, the woman kept a firm grip over Kang Mei Xue's freedom and Kang Jun didn't know why. But as long as Kang Mei Xue listened to Qiao Lan, no problems would occur and the young girl found this out quickly.

Looking down at Kang Mei Xue, Kang Jun smiled and then he held his hand out to her. If he was dealing with Kang Mingyu, Kang Jun would have picked him up, but Kang Jun knew that Kang Mei Xue hated heights. It made her sick, so Kang Jun allowed himself to be slowed down.

Once they reached the dinning room, only Kang Mingyu and Lu AnLing were left.

Rong Lihua, fearing that she and her grandson would be lightbulbs, had dragged a reluctant Rong Xin away so he would help her clean the kitchen.

Kang Jun and Kang Mei Xue had reached the dinning room first, while Elder Kang walked slowly behind them.

Thinking that only Kang Mei Xue had come, Lu AnLing got up from her chair to greet the little girl.

She greeted her back and then Lu AnLing held out her hand to the girl. Kang Mei Xue took it.

The little girl now held both Kang Jun and Lu AnLing's hands as they brought her towards Kang Mingyu.

Watching them, Kang Mingyu felt a slight sting in his heart but when Lu AnLing was back to his side, she used her free hand to pat the boy on the head.

"Now that your sister is here you won't be as lonely, right?" Lu AnLing asked the boy with a smile.

Almost as fast as it had appeared, the stinging disappeared. The little boy's heart now filled with an overwhelming warmth which made him want to cry but he didn't.

With glistening eyes he looked up to Lu AnLing and smiled widely.

When Elder Kang walked into the room, the first thing he saw was Lu AnLing and Kang Jun holding Kang Mei Xue's hands and caressing Kang Mingyu. Seeing this scene made the elder hold his breath. They truly looked like a big happy family and shockingly, the children seemed like they were attached to Lu AnLing.

Way more attached than they had ever been to Qiao Lan.

The elder stared at the scene with a soft smile on his face. If he had a camera, he would take a picture and frame it.

Nothing made the man happier than seeing the happiness of the younger generation.
