AnLing recounted what had happened that morning to the boy. She saw no problem in doing it since to her Kang Jun had specifically said Mingyu's name in the conversation and that meant he would be coming along.

As he listened, Mingyu's face twisted in confusion.

'Daddy… no… second uncle, how dare you use me to get a date with auntie and not invite me!' A part of the boy knew that his uncle wouldn't have told him about it. When he had seen Kang Jun, the man hadn't even looked him in the eyes. That meant that he was hiding something.

Kang Jun was never good at hiding things from the boy. He had his tells.

Mingyu had a face as if he had been wronged.

AnLing caught on to this expression quick but she didn't think about it for too long. If she did, she would be fully acknowledging the nagging feeling within her that told her that Kang Jun really liked her.

As soon as she had sent him the message, not too long ago, she felt a deep sense of regret but it was too late to take it back.

A part of her was glad that he hadn't properly answered her text though.

Mingyu: "What time are we meeting?"

"Probably in the afternoon I have something to do at 11 and I don't know how long it'll take." When talking to the boy, AnLing said much more than she usually would.

The boy began to frown a bit.

"What's wrong?" AnLing asked. Her heart began to hurt slightly. She had thought the boy liked spending time with her, so why was he pouting?

"I wish I could spend the whole day with you," Mingyu said seriously. He really liked AnLing and he found himself wanting to be by her side. He had been attached to others in the past but they were never allowed too close to him but thanks to Kang Jun, Mingyu had a feeling that, with AnLing, he wouldn't that problem.

He had a feelin she wouldn't just disappear either.

Why? Well, for one, she was his savior and she wasn't looking for anything in return.

After meeting AnLing several times he could easily guess that she knew neither who the Kang family were nor how much of a powerhouse they were, but because of this, she treated both Mingyu and Kang Jun with true sincerity.

Both boys found this attracting.

They were so used to women trying to get close or sucking up to them for the sake of getting something back from the Kang family and they had both grown to be disgusted by women.

But other than that, there was something strange that emanated from AnLing that attracted Mingyu to her.

She was warm, soft and every time she patted him, he felt whole…

Suddenly, he felt that familiar sensation.

Hearing his reply, AnLing's whole body had filled with an immense sense of joy and she unconsciously reached for his hair to pet him.

'Why are you the cutest?' AnLing screamed internally.

Realizing what she was doing she suddenly retracted her hand.

"I'm sorry." She said as she gazed around the room.

AnLing was worried that if Mingyu's mom had seen that, that she would mistake her actions for something they were not.

"What's wrong?" Mingyu asked innocently.

AnLing shook her head. She pretended to gaze back at Lin Li who was waiting at the counter for their order to be completed. The bag of pastries was already on the table and the coffee was still being brewed.

Seeing that they were arranging their order, AnLing took this as an opportunity to leave.

AnLing: "It's time for me to go. I need to go back to work"

She really didn't want to bump into Mingyu's mother. She feared the woman's temperament and also, she feared that she was like Kang Jun.

The woman should be his sister after all? That was what she assumed.

The girl could only take one rich person feeling as if they owe her something.

No more.

Mingyu stared at AnLing for a while with a sad expression.

He knew that he should let her go, mostly before Mei Xue and Qiao Lan came back but at the same time, he felt that he should be keeping AnLing there so she could see his second uncle, but remembering that the man had set up a date with AnLing without telling him, Mingyu changed his mind.

"Okay, bye Auntie. See you on Saturday." A devilish smile appeared on Mingyu's face.

'Take that uncle Jun. Serves you right.' Mingyu cheered in his head. He felt slightly bad but just not bad enough to retract his words. Kang Jun had brought it upon himself.

"Okay. Bye bye." AnLing waved to Mingyu before heading to Lin Li.

By the time she arrived the coffees were done and waiting.

Lin Li went ahead and grabbed the pastries and handed them to AnLing and then she took coffees. Walking over to the door, Lin Li looked at AnLing from the side and then said, "You seem to be meeting a lot of people you know today."

There was a bit of curiosity in her voice. For the first time, Lin Li seemed like a gossipy little girl.

Pushing the door open and holding it for Lin Li, AnLing sighed. "What do you mean a lot? This is only the second person."

Lin Li turned to look at AnLing and then rolled her eyes.

Lin Li: "That's a whole lot. The average person is lucky to meet one person they know on coincidence in a week but you met two already, in one day. My mother spent half her life writing scripts for movies. If she was here, she would call this a fated meeting. In fact, in one of her stories, a girl had bumped into three people she knew in a day. The third person was actually the girls love interest. But don't take what I'm saying too seriously. I don't believe in that stuff since it only ever happens in movies."

Lin Li slightly chuckled but it was a bit dry. This was the first time that she had opened up to AnLing, but that wasn't what struck her in the conversation.

What did, was the words fated meeting…

AnLing felt a shiver travel down her spine.

Did Lin Li just jinx her?

She hoped not.

AnLing was not looking for romance of any sort and she knew, knowing her luck, she would end up bumping into Yize and she really didn't want that…

Suddenly, from a distance, AnLing heard a familiar voice. She didn't turn to look at the voice but she could easily tell who it was based on the indifferent coldness resonating from it.

It was Kang Jun.

After she sent that weird message, did he come looking for her?

Wasn't he suppose to be at work?

AnLing felt the romance-obsessed girl from her childhood awaken within her. Lyrics to a love song she'd written long ago drifted to her ears…

'I heard a mans voice today,

It stole my heart away,

Then I woke up alone to the shining moon,

But the voice wasn't done with me so soon,

It wrapped itself around me,

Pulling me back into the dreamlike state…'

But this was not a dream, was it?

The words fated meeting repeated themselves in her head but she quickly shooed them away.

AnLing was slightly annoyed that Lin Li mentioned such a thing. Because of those words, she felt her heart skip a beat.

For a second she even doubted it was his voice. Maybe her ears had made a mistake... But once she heard him speak again she couldn't deny that it was him. She didn't know how far away he was but the voice pleasurably made its way into her ears, enveloping her body in a strange coolness.

AnLing shivered.

She found it strange how his voice had such an effect on her. She really loved the way he spoke and her body couldn't help but react.

Did she have a voice fetish?

The thought made her face redden…

In her mind's eye, AnLing could see that she was getting flustered and she didn't want that. The more flustered she got, the more she began to notice that she held Kang Jun in a special place in her mind.

She couldn't deny her attraction…

A part of AnLing felt strange and as she and Lin Li walked to the other side of the street towards the Halo Stars building, she couldn't help but want to look back a search for Kang Jun.

"Watch out!" Lin Li called out.

Quickly AnLing woke up from her daydream violently.

Seeing herself about to walk into a group of people, AnLing quickly turned to avoid them but everywhere she turned she almost ended up bumping into someone new.

Twisting and twirled AnLing began to feel herself get dizzy and in a daze, her body fell forward, straight into someone's firm arms. Thank god she hadn't been holding the scalding hot coffee or else she or the man holding her would have been burned.

Though even if there wasn't hot coffee between them, AnLing felt her places the man touched burn.

Looking up, AnLing met a pair of cool eyes. They sent her heart into a frenzy.

"Are you okay?" The deep voice grunted with slight confusion.

AnLing cursed Fates Gate in her mind.

Who told them to be this busy?
