Seeing Kang Jun inches away from her face caused AnLing's heart to jump out of her chest. A part of her wanted to push herself away from him but she had gotten so dizzy from avoiding the people around her that all she could do was stay frozen in place.

"Are you okay?" Kang Jun repeated. Actual worry flashed across his eyes.

"Y-yes. I'm so sorry."

3rd accidental meeting…

Didn't this mean that this was fate. AnLing shook her head. She was thinking too much.

Kang Jun being there wasn't that shocking, right? Mingyu was there, after all. For all she knew they had come together…

A part of her knew that her analysis rock solid, but she didn't want to allow herself to believe that it was fate despite her girlish heart squealing at the thought.

She just knew, deep within her, that Kang Jun was trouble and if she just let him have full unrestricted access to her heart, there was a big chance that it would be broken again.

"No need to be sorry."Kang Jun kept holding AnLing. She didn't seem too stable at the moment and he didn't want to risk letting her go if her fate was just to fall once more.

Kang Jun's natural sweet scent made its way to AnLing's nose. As soon as she smelled it, she felt herself being taken in and the sound of his voice sent her heart into a frenzy.

Hearing it made her almost blush but she held herself back and then pushed him away.

The man made it so hard not to be attracted to him.

"Thank you very much, mister. I'm sorry for the inconvenience." AnLing said, in the most serious voice she could muster at the moment.

"No problem. Be careful next time." The tone in his voice had shifted slightly. It was more cold and disconnected than the concerned one he had used earlier.

Kang Jun had understood what she wanted instantly.

Even though hearing the man who usually spoke to her with such affection go cold made AnLing's heart ache slightly, her mind was glad that he had gotten her subtle hint.

"Auntie, are you okay?"

The sound of the young boy's voice pierced the atmosphere. AnLing turned to look at him.

He ran towards her, not caring about anyone in his way.

When he looked at her, his eyes were wide with fear but when he turned to look at Kang Jun the emotion in them changed to something else…

From the window, Mingyu had seen everything from her quick maneuvers to avoid people to her falling and being caught by Kang Jun.

Seeing that made the boy wish he was older.

If he was, he would have been the one to save her instead.

At least that's what he believed.

The boy moved forward and clung onto her leg and then looked up at his second uncle with a glare.

AnLing fully understood that look.

'Ah… he's jealous.' AnLing's inner voice squealed.

For a moment, she fawned over the boy in her mind. Though, because they were out in public, AnLing needed to calm the boy down quickly before people began to stare.

AnLing bent down and looked at Mingyu in the eyes.

"Don't worry, auntie is fine and I will see you again." Seeing the boy still clinging to her, she smiled softly and patted his head. "It's a promise."

After saying that, the boy slowly let go of her and allowed AnLing to leave.

When she was across the street, she wanted to turn back and wave to Mingyu, just to reassure him, but she felt like it was best not to.

When she had patted Mingyu the second time, she'd seen a couple of people staring at her strangely which didn't sit well with her and she couldn't understand why.

AnLing sighed.

Little did AnLing know that the only ones who had stared at them were the bodyguards of the Kang family. If she did though, she might have been more bothered.

Kang Jun and Mingyu starred at her as she walked towards her building.

For a moment, without them realizing it, both Kang Jun and AnLing had felt and thought of the same thing. At his chest, Kang Jun could still feel her body on his and her quickening heartbeat as he held her. And AnLing still felt as if she was wrapped up in his arms.

Nothing could fully explain how they both felt at that moment, though. Even if they tried to describe it, the words probably wouldn't do it justice.

With her free hand, AnLing touched the area right above her chest and tried to control her breathing, but no matter how hard she tries, one thing never changed.

Her heart was restless.

No matter how the girl acted there was no way she would be able to control her heart.

'I haven't been that close to a guy in a long time…' AnLing tried to convince herself that she hadn't begun to fall in love.

It was best if she hadn't.

Sadly for her, that wasn't the case.

She cared for Kang Jun. She wanted to see him. She wanted to keep texting him and she wanted to touch him.

One day that wanting would turn into an uncontrollable desire…

Inside the Halo Star's building, AnLing felt herself calm down a bit. However, no matter the distance her mind still laid on Kang Jun.

But, as her mind was focussed on the man, someone else's was focused on her.

From the side, two figures watched them.

"I wasn't mistaken. She really is back…" the woman said with a whisper. Her face revealing a soft but slightly confused expression. It was as if she was deliberating something in her mind.

By coincidence, as they planned to leave the building they had seen AnLing and Lin Li arriving.

"Yes," Shuya held back a sneer. "but how did you know Jie Jie?"

The woman didn't answer Shuya, she just continued to stare at AnLing who walked towards the elevator.

Back at Fates Gate, Kang Jun and Mingyu looked at the direction AnLing had disappeared in before turning to look at each other.

"Where's Mei Xue?"

"Bathroom." Mingyu pointed inside coldly.

Because of their conversation earlier, Qiao Lan had gotten so mad that she took a taxi home. Leaving both children in the care of the bodyguards and indirectly Kang Jun, without batting an eyelash.

But Kang Jun wasn't planning on babysitting.

Kang Jun walked in and found Mei Xue and the female bodyguard walking out of the bathroom. The woman held the green looking Mei Xue tightly.

Seeing the little girls sick expression, he sighed and then spoke to the bodyguard.

"Take her home and call Doctor Chong. I'll keep Mingyu with me for today." Kang Jun said firmly. The bodyguard was about to open her mouth to protest and then she stopped herself.

Who was she to defy Kang Jun's orders?

Kang Jun walked the woman out, and behind them followed a few of the civilian dressed bodyguards.

He dismissed them all.

Once they were gone, Kang Jun and Mingyu headed to his illegally parked black Maybach.

As Kang Jun drove a small silence lingered between the two as they both resonated a cold aura. They weren't sure what to say to each other but they had things to say nonetheless.

Seeing as they were in a standstill, Mingyu spoke up first.

"Hey," he started. He hesitated for a moment and though over if he really wanted to speak and then said, "what are you doing on Saturday?"

Mingyu watched Kang Jun's reaction intently but the man didn't change much. Kang Jun was like that; cold and calm. Everyone was always unsure about what he was thinking about, and that included Mingyu though the boy learned how to recognize certain ticks.

Kang Jun looked straight ahead, unwavering. "I'm going out."

"Out where? With who?"

Faced with Mingyu questioning, Kang Jun's lip began to twitch.

When he had first seen AnLing in front of Fates Gate and Mingyu watching her from the window, without blinking, a part of him knew that AnLing had said something to the boy.

It's not like he was mad.

Why should he be? It was within her right.

But still, a part of him wished she hadn't...

"…" Kang Jun didn't speak for a moment, he then turned and looked Mingyu in the eyes. "A date with your future second auntie."

With Mingyu, Kang Jun didn't worry about holding back his words and just said what was on his mind. Hearing that come out of his second uncle's mouth made him smirk, but then it turned into a frown.

"Second Uncle, you're horrible… You're hogging her all to yourself. I can't believe you were going to go out with auntie without telling me." Mingyu whined.

He leaned his head back in his seat as if he was cursing Kang Jun's name to the gods.

Mingyu: "I'm coming with you, no matter what!"

Kang Jun turned to look at him and held back his laughter.

Did he even have a choice?

"Well, haven't you changed. Now that she's your favorite you act innocently in front of her, but change your attitude in my presence?" Kang Jun sounded cold but he was actually very glad and amused with the emotion shown by Mingyu.

Mingyu's face turned red.

"I don't know what you're talking about." The boy articulated.

There was no anger or annoyance in neither Kang Jun nor Mingyu's voices. They could both see what was going on.

It was clear as day.

They both couldn't wait for Saturday.
