It was 2 pm on the dot was when Lu Yuxi had arrived at Kang Jun and Lu AnLing's home. She was accompanied by Xu Shen, Lu Xiaoling, Lu Shuya and Lu Duyi.
Despite not expecting her siblings to come, Lu AnLing warmly welcomed them.
"You have a beautiful home!" Xu Shen said happily as he examined the place.
Hearing him say this, Kang Jun felt nothing, but since Xu Shen, in Kang Jun's opinion, was a nice man, he smiled slightly and put his arm around Lu AnLing's waist, and then he said, "Thank you."
Lu AnLing then leaned into her husband lovingly.
Lu AnLing's family was not used to seeing this, and they were also shocked by how loving Kang Jun was to the girl despite his reputation, and so they froze slightly.
There, Lu AnLing was going to ask for Lu Yuxi but it was not the time or place for it just yet.
"Welcome," Lu AnLing then said calmly. "Come have a seat in the living room."
After saying this, Lu AnLing and Kang Jun brought the group to the living room where Rong Lihua was setting the table.
Seeing the group, Rong Lihua hurried and put the tea and sweets on the table, making sure that the sweetest things were near Kang Jun.
After this, she went to get Kang Mei Xue and Kang Mingyu.
Looking around the big house, Lu Duyi said, "Sis, I see you're living the good life!"
Hearing this, Lu AnLing giggled. "You want to live with us?"
"No, I don't want to be a nuisance to brother in law." Lu Duyi snorted as he shook his head.
Lu AnLing smiled at her little brother's words. "Good, I don't think your brother in law would appreciate your presence either. I think you just earned some points. "
Kang Jun didn't deny her words. He just simply took one of the many sweets in front of him and then he began to eat them. Though, truly, neither Lu Duyi nor Lu AnLing had expected him to contradict Lu AnLing. Everyone in the room knew how Kang Jun was as a person, be it by personal experience or by rumours so they didn't take his way of being as rudeness but rather as a preference.
Though this didn't stop Lu Shuya and Lu Xiaoling from feeling a bit awkward with how calmly Lu Duyi was speaking to his sister about Kang Jun.
Though, in the end, there was no real need to worry. Like Xu Shen, Kang Jun could already asses that Lu Duyi was a good boy and so, he treated him much more laxly than he did others.
After a small while, Kang Mei Xue and Kang Mingyu had appeared at the bottom of the stairs. When the two kids were downstairs they shyly ran up to their parents who brought the two onto the couch with them.
Seeing Kang Mei Xue and Kang Mingyu, Lu Duyi's face twisted a bit. He didn't know anything about Lu AnLing being pregnant previously so as he examined the two kids and then he said,
"Are these your niece and nephew?"
Lu AnLing and Kang Jun didn't say a word but they didn't need to. Lu Duyi's question was just rhetorical.
Lu Duyi: "Sis, they look like you..."
Hearing this, Lu Shuya, Lu Xiaoling and Xu Shen looked at the two and they concluded the same thing. They knew exactly why Kang Mei Xue looked like Lu AnLing, but as for Kang Mingyu, they were as confused as Lu Duyi.
Not appreciating how the group stared at the boy, Lu AnLing spoke.
Lu AnLing: "They're my children. Biologically or not, that is what they are."
Lu Duyi saw the fire in his sister's eyes. Seeing this, he smiled and nodded. His sister had always wanted a big happy family and he was glad that Kang Jun had already given her a taste of that.
As this happened, Lu Yuxi who hid behind Xu Shen watched the group. There she examined Lu AnLing, Kang Jun, Kang Mei Xue and Kang Mingyu. She examined each and every one of their features and then, her eyes locked on Kang Mei Xue who accidentally started back at her.
In Lu Yuxi's mind, the words 'my sister' rang but then she saw that Kang Mei Xue averted her eyes before she clasped her hand tightly onto Kang Mingyu's. Seeing this, Lu Yuxi did not know how to feel. Her sister already had a sibling...?
Was he her brother too? Lu Yuxi doubted it since her grandma, grandpa and aunt didn't tell her anything about having a brother.
Looking at the girl, Lu AnLing was a bit confused. She didn't know what the look in Lu Yuxi's eye was. It was something she couldn't understand because Lu Yuxi's circumstances were completely different from her own. She never felt jealousy like Lu Yuxi did. Lu AnLing had not even felt that towards her mother when she had come to live with the Lu's but she understood longing...
Seeing this, Lu AnLing wasn't quite sure what to do so she shot Lu Xiaoling and Xu Shen a look.
Both of them looked between each other and then they looked at Lu Yuxi.
Seeing the strange expression on her face, Xu Shen picked her up and put her in front of him and said, "Now, XiXi, it's rude not to greet our hosts."
Hearing this, Lu Yuxi nodded politely and said, "Hello, I'm Lu Yuxi..."
Lu Yuxi didn't look at her parents. For once, she was feeling a bit shy, so Instead, she looked between Kang Mei Xue and Kang Mingyu.
As soon as Kang Mei Xue and Lu Yuxi looked into each other's eyes they felt a strange familiarity but because Kang Mei Xue wasn't used to such a thing, she gazed coldly towards Lu Yuxi, who shivered slightly.
Lu AnLing could already see things going south and so, she wanted to say something but then, Kang Mingyu spoke instead.
Kang Mingyu: "Yuxi is a pretty name. Don't you think so, Mei Xue?"
Hearing this, Kang Mei Xue froze for a second but then she nodded her head shyly.
Seeing this, Lu Yuxi blushed hard. "Thank you... I like the name Mei Xue too."
This time, Kang Mei Xue blushed bashfully. Seeing such a scene, Kang Mingyu smiled.
"We should all go play. What do you think?" Kang Mingyu said slowly to both girls. Hearing this both Lu Yuxi and Kang Mei Xue nodded. Seeing this, Kang Mingyu looked to Lu AnLing and Kang Jun and said, "Can we?"
Touching his hair softly, Lu AnLing smiled. "Of course my little cutie."
Hearing this, Kang Mingyu smiled wide. He then told Kang Mei Xue and Lu Yuxi to go on ahead. Before he left he turned to Lu AnLing and Kang Jun and said, "Thanks mommy, thanks, daddy."
