Hearing this, Kang Jun understood completely, and frankly, he could easily parallel Lu Xiaoling and Xu Shen's predicament to that of his mother and Kang Mu.
Both women had a debt of sort to the men who had helped them, and because of this, they could not leave the men. Though unlike Lu Xiaoling, his mother had decided to give back to Kang Mu as much as she possibly could. Even if her debt was unrepayable.
"Do you not like her being indebted to you? Doesn't this just mean she'll never betray you?" Kang Jun said using his business voice. Thought he knew better than anyone that relationships required compromise and love. Not binding feelings of obligations.
Xu Shen: "I would much rather Xiaoling believe that she is free to make her own choices, independent of her debt to me...because a debt isn't love."
Xu Shen was going to continue his rant but then, Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
Since Kang Jun and Xu Shen were close, Kang Jun opened the door.

Lu Yuxi didn't have many friends but she liked people in general so, for her, it was very easy to make friends.
Unlike Kang Mei Xue and Kang Mingyu, Lu Yuxi had spent the majority of her life in bliss and happiness. She had never been treated unfairly or been neglected in any way. Truly, her only sadness came from the fact that she didn't know her parents.
Lu Yuxi was young but she was much more understanding than most. When Lu Xiaoling had explained to her that her mother had wanted her but couldn't raise her, Lu Yuxi was understanding and so, she never grew to hate her mother and since her own mother had wanted to raise he but couldn't, she had just assumed her father had felt the same way. So she grew up believing she was always loved and that one day, her parents would come for her. And thank god for her, her dreams came true...
Love and optimism surrounded Lu Yuxi. And this showed in the way her shyness disappeared in a matter of seconds when she began to play with Kang Mingyu and Kang Mei Xue.
After a while of playing downstairs, the kids headed up where they played a few rounds of hide and seek. After a while, the three were a bit tired, and so, the took a rest in one of the many guest rooms.
During this small time, Lu Yuxi was speaking happily to Kang Mei Xue who laid beside her on the big king-sized bed.
Lu Yuxi: "Granny said we're twins but we don't really look alike..."
Kang Mei Xue nodded and then she shrugged.
"I don't think all twins look alike. But mom told me that we're twins, so I know it's the truth. Mom and dad wouldn't lie," Kang Mei Xue said. And then she turned her head to Kang Mingyu and said, "Right Mingyu?"
Once Kang Mei Xue had turned her head, she had immediately laid eyes on Kang Mingyu who was headed to the door.
Seeing this, Kang Mei Xue ran up to him and then she grabbed onto Kang Mingyu's arm and frowned, "Where are you going?"
"To the bathroom..." Kang Mingyu said lowly.
Hearing this, Kang Mei Xue frowned harder. "Liar. You trying to disappear because you think you're in the way!"
Kang Mingyu froze due to these words. He did not know what to say because her assumption was true.
Kang Mingyu had always known that biologically Kang Mei Xue was not his sister. Qiao Lan has reminded him of that a great many times and he never really minded this but now, it was a bit different.
Yes, he felt like they were siblings. They were raised together, after all, even if they weren't blood. And yes, Kang Mei Xue had another sibling, but this didn't mean that he was jealous; that wasn't why he was trying to distance himself...
Days before, as Lu AnLing had explained to Kang Mei Xue and Kang Mingyu that Lu Yuxi was Kang Mei Xue's twin, Kang Mingyu had felt a bit sad, but at the time he was also glad for her. Kang Mei Xue had always been lonely, and now, she had true family and this made Kang Mingyu glad for her, but because of this, he didn't want to be in the way.
Kang Mingyu: "I'm just tired. I'm going to nap. You guys should play."
Hearing this, Kang Mei Xue pouted. "You're not an old grandpa or a big baby anymore, you don't need a nap."
Kang Mei Xue was never the kind of person to raise her voice or be emotional, but when it came to her brother, she allowed herself to be completely open. The two had always been close at heart, even if there were many times when they were forced to be apart. So right now, seeing that Kang Mingyu distancing himself from her, Kang Mei Xue felt her world imploding.
Suddenly, she began to cry. "Why are you leaving me...?"
Seeing Kang Mei Xue cry, Lu Yuxi, who was calm and collected, as she stood right behind the girl, suddenly snapped and she began to cry also.
Watching this scene, Kang Mingyu was confused but he couldn't just stay motionless so he ran up to the two girls and he tried to wipe their tears away in vain.
Looking at them, Kang Mingyu felt his heart tighten.
"You two are supposed to be older than me but here you are crying like big babies." Kang Mingyu joked as he continued to wipe their cascading tears with his small chubby hands, "but I'm sorry... I won't leave. I'll be here. You're my family."
Hearing this, Kang Mei Xue's tears subsided, which in turn led to Lu Yuxi to stop crying. And then, Kang Mei Xue wrapped her arms around her brother and her sister and said, "Let's be together forever. You, me, Yuxi, mom, and dad..."
"What about grandma, grandpa, auntie and uncle?" Lu Yuxi asked sweetly.
"Yeah, and what about auntie Xia, uncle Liang, auntie Lihua, uncle Xin, and uncle Sheng?" Kang Mingyu wondered. He knew that Lu AnLing and Kang Jun had other people who they cared about. Neither he nor Kang Mei Xue could force the couple to only focus on them.
Hearing this, Kang Mei Xue exchanged looks with her siblings and then she nodded and said, "Them too!"
The kids began to giggled sweetly and they then decided to play another game of hide and seek.

Meanwhile, outside the door of Kang Jun's house, Kang Liang waited to be welcomed in. He was a bit impatient and so, he tapped his food on the ground.
Kang Liang was in a bad mood that afternoon. Last night, when he had heard Elder Qiao and Qiao Lan speak about his mother, he had been so close to doing something he might have regretted but no one could blame him. To Kang Liang, his mother was like a precious holy land, which no one was allowed to touch.
Truly, he had never met his mother. He had only heard about her in stories and he had seen her in the movies and shows she had appeared in. That's about all that he knew about her but despite all this, he loved her more than anything.
Hearing her name said with so much spite from the mouths of the family who had caused her to flee, broke something within the boy.
At that moment, Chong Feng had noticed the darkness surrounding the man. And despite not knowing what was completely going on. He did recognize the anger and pain at the mention of the name Ke Da Xia; not only from Kang Liang but from Elder Qiao and Qiao Lan also.
Just so Kang Liang would think clearly, Chong Feng but his arm over Kang Liang's shoulder and he gave him the best advice he could muster.
Chong Feng: "Go home, calm down and then go talk to Kang Jun's place tomorrow."
