When he had first heard of Kang Jun, he had understood that Kang Jun was a Kang; the ones that Grandma Lu hated but because Grandma Lu didn't react horribly to Kang Jun, on the contrary, how she accepted him with open arms, the old man had assumed that Kang Jun wasn't one of the Kang family whom Grandma Lu hated.
Because if this, he did not act out too much, but now, as he entered the living room within Kang Manor and laid eyes on Elder Kang sitting happily on the couch with his grandchildren in his arms, who were telling him about Lu Yuxi, Grandpa Lu was extremely angry.
He knew Kang Guanting well. Not by acquaintance but by rumour.
Living with Grandma Lu for so long, Grandpa Lu knew well how much she hated him.
So when he saw Elder Kang laughing heartily at something Kang Mei Xue had said, Grandpa Lu frowned hard.
Grandma Lu was hurt due to the fact that this man and his family had harmed her sister, so how could they just be so happy? Or even worse, how could Lu AnLing marry into the family who had caused her grandmother so much pain!? How dare she!
As he thought this, Lu Yuxi ran over to Kang Mingyu and Kang Mei Xue. Seeing the little girl, the two kids beckoned her onto Elder Kang's lap, without shame.
Seeing this new child who seemed close to Kang Mingyu and Kang Mei Xue, Elder Kang couldn't help but smile wide and examine the girl.
After this, Elder Kang made a bit of small talk with the mysterious Lu Yuxi.
Seeing how easily the two connected, Grandpa Lu was about to explode but then, Grandma Lu walked up to the man, and said, "Guanting, where is Li Ji... uh... Lihua, have you seen her?"
"Well, hello to you too." Elder Kang said with humour. The man no longer took Grandma Lu's rude way of being as rudeness anymore. The bad blood between them had almost disintegrated and so, they treated each other as relatives. "If you must know, she's just gone upstairs to check on AnLing. She wants to help her get dressed for the performance."
Grandma Lu clapped her hands with excitement. "I can't believe that Haonan allowed for such a thing to happen, I guess he can't control his family as he would like."
Elder Kang nodded, "In our old age, we learn that we cannot control anybody... Haonan knows this well now. But what I find more surprising is that he invited both our families to dinner..."
Grandma Lu laughed out loud. "I agree. I didn't quite like that brat Hoanan back then, always a drinker but never a slacker. He was too intelligent for his own good. He could be such a snob sometimes."
This time it was Elder Kang's turn to laugh out loud. "He's changed since then. Marrying Liane did him well. It was a shame when she died..." Elder Kang said sadly.
Looking at him, Grandma Lu cocked her head. "What happened?"
"Well, after her sons were kicked out I heard that Liane would go visit them. One day, she just got really depressed..."
Grandma Lu: "Did she killed herself?"
Elder Kang shook his head. "She died of cancer. But Haonan thought that Liane had just given up fighting. She had kept a diary where she wrote everything down. In there, there were many things which broke Haonan's heart. He had become more relaxed since then, though he still drinks a lot!"
Grandma Lu laughed dryly. The word cancer stuck to her mind and so she cleared her throat slightly.
Meanwhile, from the sidelines Lu Xiaoling and Grandpa Lu were confused.
Grandma Lu had always hated the Lu family but now the two seemed extremely close to each other.
Truthfully they weren't that close, but they had both decided to act normal with one another for Lu Li Jing's sake. Even if she didn't remember anything, that was fine. They just didn't want to make everything scary and awkward for the woman.
Though, this was not something that Lu Xiaoling or Grandpa Lu would have known and so the old man frowned more and the woman just stared in confusion.

Lu AnLing wore a two-piece dress which shone in both pink and red.
The outfit was beautifully decorated with gipsy soul coins which gave it a distinct sound. It was both elegant and sensual, and gave a type of bohemian feeling to it which brought a person to look at the girl and not turn away.
Looking at Lu AnLing, Lu Xiaoling said, "That dress is very..."

When the kids saw it, they ran over to their mother and then smiled wide.
