"So pretty! She's like a goddess!" Lu Yuxi said without shame, "I want to look like mommy when I grow up."

Kang Jun was the only one who heard this, beside him, Kang Mingyu and Kang Mei Xue, who had never experienced such a happy, warm and festive aura couldn't help but keep their eyes on their mother's twirling and dancing as their hearts filled to the brim with excitement.

Looking at the two, Kang Jun smiled and then he patted Lu Yuxi's head, "You're already pretty, but one day you'll be like your mom."

Kang Jun treated Lu Yuxi with the same fatherly love he showed Kang Mingyu and Kang Mei Xue, Elder Kang wasn't sure why but seeing the two interact made the old man smile.

Seeing this, however, Elder Tang, whose eyes had been wide as he had watched Kang Jun, cocked his head, "Your grandson seems to have completely changed."

Elder Kang laughed, "It's the power of love!"

Hearing this, both men laughed hard.

Meanwhile, on stage, the first song was about to end, and so, Lu AnLing twirled one last time before striking a pose. When it was over, and she had finally stopped, Lu AnLing breathed heavily. She was so tired from all the twirling and dancing she had done. Thinking about this for a second, she was glad she didn't sing this song!

The first song was one that consisted completely of Mo Sheng's voice. The judges of Trailblazers were familiar with only Mo Sheng's voice, and so, Lu AnLing decided that it would be best to just utilize him for the first song since it was what the first panel would enjoy most. Though, she had also wanted to make something different.

Lu AnLing's idea was to appeal to her fathers most basic ideals; which were creativity and hard work. To get the dance and rhythm right, Mo Sheng and Lu AnLing had put in many rigorous hours of work. So much so that Lu AnLing felt as if she had lost weight. And thanks to this, when others watched this, they could feel it.

Once Mo Sheng stopped singing, the crowd was so mesmerized that they were quiet and then, all of a sudden, the Kang, Tang and Lu families clapped causing the crowd to go into a frenzy of clapse and cheers.

In the crowd, Tang Yiling had also been slightly mesmerized and so, once she snapped out of it she frowned hard as anger boiled within her.

But of course, Lu AnLing and Mo Sheng weren't done. All of a sudden, Mo Sheng went to the background and sat in front of the piano and Rong Xin came on the stage and handed Lu AnLing a mic.

Seeing this, Tang Yian who had almost smiled during Lu AnLing's first performance, felt his heart palpitate.

Seeing her take hold of the mic was like something out of a dream. Something he anticipated but deep down, he also worried but he wasn't sure why.

Even so, he didn't take his eyes off the girl. He was completely open to her... but he didn't know this until Lu AnLing lifted her head and made eye contact with the man.

For a moment, when their eyes met, Tang Yian encountered a medley of emotions. Not only from Lu AnLing but from his own heart and this caused him to gulp.

Right when he did that, Lu AnLing began to sing. There was no music at first, just her voice.

"Everything I am..."

"Everything I will ever be..."

"Everything I always was..."

"Was made by the love between you and me."

Slowly, Mo Sheng's fingers moved across the piano, and then Lu AnLing, who also had an acoustic guitar in hand began to play. After this, the two harmonised their voices perfectly together,

"Opposite, from birth."

"Transcended barriers of abandoned and hurt."

"You and me, always you and me..."

As they sang, Lu AnLing's eyes never left her father, she sang to him, despite the fact that this song would not be judged by him.

She wanted him to feel her heart from this song. Not only the hate, not only the pain but the love and thanks she had for the man. She sang for him, as a spectator and as her father...

This was so touching and so pure that many people in the audience felt their eyes water unconsciously.

Even Tang Yian found it hard to control the emotions within him.

Lu AnLing's voice was beautiful, calming and... completely familiar. Her voice was the voice of the daughter in his mind, and it was easy to come to this conclusion, mostly after hearing Tang Yiling's disgrace of a voice.

His daughter would have been better than Tang Yiling...

But for all Tang Yian knew, Tang Yiling was his daughter! So this caused a strange knot to form in his heart.

Mentally, he didn't quite remember Lu AnLing but in his heart, he did. Watching her easily made Tang Yian realize, that the daughter in his mind was his world, but also she was hard to deal with...

But still, he couldn't quite remember her and the harder he tried the more his head would pound and before he knew it, the song had ended and he felt like he wanted to faint.

Down in the crowd, Lu Xiaoling who had just watched her daughter truly perform for the first time could not take her eyes off of Lu AnLing.

Her heart filled with emotions as it beat hard in her chest as if just to prove that she wasn't dead inside. And then, just when the song ended, warm tears descended from the corners of her eyes, hugging her cheeks as they cascade.

Lu Xiaoling gulped but her throat was dry, and so, she felt a burning sensation.

Raw emotion burned at the pit of her stomach and she couldn't help but imagine what would have happened if she hadn't left Tang Yian and Lu AnLing...

She wondered what would have happened if, instead of blowing up and leaving after failing to explain her feelings to the tired Tang Yian, she could have tried harder to understand his pains and to make him understand hers...

She loved him. She knew she did. And in her heart, she loved Lu AnLing also, but back then, she was young and felt no attachment.

Maybe she wasn't meant to be a mother but she had become one and she should have taken responsibility for the life she had to give birth to. If she had, there would have been a chance that they could have been happy...

But was it too late for this?

All those thoughts that gathering in Lu Xiaoling's mind caused her to cry even more.

Hiding in a corner, Lu Xiaoling tried to stop herself before someone noticed. But it was too late...

Someone already had.

Xu Shen had witnessed this since she had first begun to tear up but he did not console Lu Xiaoling. At this moment, it was easy for him to tell that she had just realized something she had never been able to. Something which would change everything in both of their lives and despite being sad, Xu Shen was not going to stunt her progress or change her mind just because it might hurt him in the long run.

It was time for Lu Xiaoling to be free.
