If he wanted her to leave, then she would do so.

While she is not as meek and obedient as most people think, Lyn always listened to Allen. She didn't know what it was, but ever since she met him when they were kids - she listened to everything he said without fail. Maybe it was because Lyn spent so many years in love with him. Perhaps it's because she was curious about the man her parents chose for her.

Maybe it's because she wanted to learn more about him. No, it was probably because 'Allen was born to be King, he's fit to be a ruler,' from the start this man excluded an aura fit for a King. His current status as a Prince is not enough.

At times Allen reminded her of her eldest brother, at least in this department. They are both royalty who stand above the rest, and yet their current positions do their talents no justice. It's a waste for him, having somebody like her as his fiance.

That woman she saw with him before, however, wasn't a better fit. If she were to think of the list of ladies in the Empire, Lyn thought back to their engagement banquet. There were many ladies there who greeted Allen and yet ignored her. However, there was one person that stood out to her.

Lady Cordelia, it was only a brief chat, and the woman was the complete opposite of her. Yet at the same time, the girl gave off the same feeling. It felt nostalgic when she spoke to her, it was like looking at a mirror of her self.

Allen suddenly turned to face her and reached out to play with her hair. It surprised Lyn, "What are you doing?" she questioned.

"A bit too late for me to ask you to leave it seems." He replied casually.

Lyn raised her eyebrows at this, her room isn't far from his though. So it isn't too late.

"You should cut your hair, Lyn." Allen suggested, "I really like it short."

But Kazuya likes it long, and as for her... Well, Lyn didn't have an actual opinion on it. Long, medium or short, it didn't matter. She wasn't beautiful, nor would she make many public appearances. Whether her hair is messy, or she had terrible skin, whether she was ugly. It didn't matter. Yet that didn't stop her from taking care of herself with the limited resources. She didn't have feminine products like her sister, no scented perfume, or bath soap and hair products. But Lyn made do with what she had.

Lyn laughed at that thought, how stupid. Even though she knew full well that it made no difference. Her laughter is cut short when Allen suddenly kissed her. It was brief, and yet it was a kiss on her lips nonetheless. Lyn didn't have time to react, as he deepened the kiss. His arms wrapped around her waist, drawing her close.

"Allen," Lyn managed to say his name when he briefly pulled away. Her entire body felt like it was burning, and she cursed, 'That stupid man must have put something in the drink he gave her,' Lyn thought. She knew something seemed amidst, and yet, it would have been stranger if she refused the drink.

Allen pulled his mouth from and broke the kiss. "We should stop" he whispered softly, his lips grazed her forehead lightly.

This man is far too kind to her; he won't do anything to her. Yet, was it just her imagination, or did she sense his desires? When he kissed her, it felt unusual. She felt it, the same passion whenever Rhys kissed her. "No," Lyn replied. She was only testing him.

It can't be the same as Rhys. Rhys only lusts after her because of her appearance. He doesn't actually have any feelings for her after much thinking that's what Lyn concluded. However, something seemed wrong with that theory too.

Allen shook his head, "Do not be reckless, Princess. You have Kazuya."

Lyn deeply exhaled, 'He really won't fight back, stupid,' she thought. Indeed, Allen is very stupid. What

"Aaah, of course, you bring that up now. Sometimes I wonder Allen, how you contain yourself. You're supposed to be my fiance, but you don't get jealous at all."

A chuckle escaped his lips, " Do you wish for me to be jealous, Princess?"

"Once in a while, it would be nice, don't you think?"

"Indeed, I cannot deny the fact that it would be pleasant once in a while to show what I am truly thinking. But my dear you would be treading on a thin line if I were to show my emotions more openly."

Rather, it would pose a fine problem for her if he actually started to show what he was thinking. If he were to display jealousy out in the open, then Lyn doubted that any of the guys who like her could even lay a hand on her. Then again, this was all wishful thinking. While she can't analyze exactly what's going on his mind. Lyn has always been sure of one thing; it's not possible for Allen to fall in love with her.

But, just now he admitted that he's holding back his emotions whenever it came to her? Lyn wondered, what type of emotions it is. Is that the reason why lacks sleep? Because he's holding those emotions back? Lyn shook her head, quit thinking stupid things. Besides, if Allen was going to fall in love with her, it should have happened a long time ago.

"I… can't force you…. You are a free man…".

At that comment, he chuckles, before she felt his lips on her forehead. 'He's so gentle,' Lyn thought. How come? Why does he have to treat her like this now? It's already far too late for anything to happen between them.

"Rest Princess; you are tired from working so hard recently."

"Will you be staying with me?" she asked, rather shyly. Lyn realized a second too late, 'What is she doing? Don't act shy in front of him anymore,' it's just natural instinct for her. She hasn't seen Allen act this gentle towards her in a long time. So before she knew it... Lyn was just about to brush it off when Allen placed another kiss on her forehead to reassure her. It was gentle and somewhat different than the one Kazuya frequently gave her, yet it made her feel at ease.

"Mm. Relax, I don't intend to leave."

Lyn pulled a face, as though she thought about something. It should be okay, right? After debating about it for a few more seconds, Lyn intertwined their hands together, "Then, I'll be borrowing this hand for a bit."

"What amusing game is this Princess?"

"It's not a game. But you can call it that if you wish," Lyn said, "I can sleep better this way," she quickly explained. In all honesty, she just wanted to hold his hand. But that's because Lyn seldom held it over these years. If this engagement is going to end, she at least wants to make some more memories before it happens.

They keep talking about the ending, and yet Lyn didn't know how to go about canceling an engagement. This involved her parents too, who could she speak to this matter about? Her thoughts broke when she saw Allen's eyelids close. Her gaze softened, he must be exhausted. He's been restless these last few days. Lyn shifted closer and ensured that the majority of the blanket was on his side.
