Year 4014 - R Inn -7:00am

When Lyn woke up and saw Rhys sleeping face beside her, the first thing she did was scream - causing him to wake up. The next thing she did was call him a pervert and hit him, Rhys, however, grabbed hold of her wrist, "Where's my thank you for keeping you warm all night?" Her cheeks grew hot at his words, but she continues to glare at him. Think Lyn, how did this situation come about?

No matter how much she thought back to yesterday, though. Nothing came to mind; Lyn immediately noted how there seemed to be a wincing pain in her head. She placed her hand over her head in confusion; why does her head hurt so much?

Rhys reached over and brushed his hand on her forehead, "Lay down, let me treat you."

Treat her? Lyn, however, didn't get a chance to say anymore, since Rhys forcibly made her lay down. She deeply sighed; she might as well along with it. What could be any worse than this situation?

Rhys pulled out a brush and some scrolls, and Lyn looked at him puzzled. What is he doing? He seemed amused that she was watching him since he called out, "This is also magic, but well, it's more of the ancient arts."

Ancient arts? Lyn did know of people who use it, like her mentor and occasionally her eldest brother. But this is the first time she is witnessing somebody else use it.

Lyn's eyes twitched in annoyance when he reached over for her clothes, "Pervert!!"

Rhys rolled his eyes, "Trust me, that's the last thing on my mind when your not acting as cute as you did yesterday," he trailed off before adding, "In short, I like your cute side better."

If he's going to compliment her, he should see it through to the very end instead of giving her such a half-hearted reply. Her thoughts broke off though when she felt his hands linger on her chest, and she flushed red, "Stop already!!"

"Sorry, sorry," Rhys apologized, "Getting distracted there."

Why does she have to show her skin for, anyway? It makes little sense to her. Could it be that Rhys is just trying to take advantage of her? As she thought this, she felt something make contact with her chest. But it wasn't Rhys hand it was the brush in his hands, Rhys was drawing some strange letters on her chest. Lyn looked at him, confused, 'what is he doing?' He said he would use ancient magic, does he mean this? But Lyn had never seen ancient magic like this before..

A strange glow surrounds them, causing her eyes to widen. When the light vanished, Lyn felt that the fatigue in her body had vanished somewhat. Rhys cupped her cheeks, "Hmm, I see the colors returned to your face," he trailed off and nodded, "Yeah, this one should work for a while, unless I find a better spell."

A spell? Lyn looked at him, curiously, "What um, did you write?"

Rhys smiled, "It's the ancient language of the East."

Ah, that's why she didn't understand it, "It looked like symbols to me," rather than symbols, a bunch of thick lines.

"Yeah, it's complicated to comprehend unless you know about it," Rhys let's go of her and puts the brush away. He turned to pick up the scroll he settled on the ground, Rhys took one look at it before he rolled it back up and hid it inside his robe pockets.

Lyn who sat on the bed kept her gaze on him. What an unusual person. She thought he would try to take advantage of her there. But, not only did he not do that. He actually took care of her. Lyn laid back down on the bed, though her body felt better, she knew it would be best to get some more rest. An unusual man, perhaps she was wrong about Rhys. While she did find his company unpleasant at times, there are equally as many times where she doesn't dislike being around him. He isn't a bad person, that much Lyn had figured out.

However, unlike Kazuya, he had her figured out from the very beginning. He didn't have to get to know her like Kazuya did, he just knew. 'He probably investigated beforehand, right?' Lyn thought. While there is seldom any information about her in the Mist Kingdom, there are still people who know her identity. Those people tend to get bribed if the right person gets a hold of the information regarding her existence.

"What?" Rhys smiled; he seemed strangely happy about something, "Want me to sit with you?" Lyn nodded, and Rhys walked over, he sat on the bed and gently brushed his hands across her forehead, "Hnn, you really are quite careless. Don't just summon random magic without understanding it first."

"Ah," Lyn trailed off, "I don't remember much," she admitted. Lyn figured that she must have fought or something since her entire body felt depleted of any strength. The type of feeling she would get after fighting or doing intense training.

Rhys paused but nodded, "Well, I learned by now that your memories for everything tend to be hazy. I thought at first that this was simply because you're ditzy," she hits him then, and he laughed, "What? You don't think so?"

"I don't."

"Mm, very well. Anyhow, even a ditzy person can't be so forgetful all the time. So I looked into it for you. It turns out it's the work of somebody with high-level magic."

"So, somebody cast a spell on me to make me forget..serious events?" Lyn muttered.

"I'm sure they didn't do it to harm you though, judging from the fact that you only got a headache from it. They are protecting you, and yet, they are trying to keep you away from serious matters," Rhys scratched his head, "Despite the number of candidates for that, you can narrow it down right?"

Yes, yes, she can. But, it doesn't make sense why her Mother would do something like this for. The reason Lyn narrowed it down to Mother is because of what Rhys said. If it were one of the others, surely he would have removed the magic last night. However, he didn't, no, he couldn't.

Removing other peoples magic is only possible if they are on the same level as the caster or a higher level. But, if the caster far surpasses their abilities, then it's not possible. Other than Brother and Mother, there is nobody else.

Lyn looked over at Rhys expression, this man - he seems to have everything figured out. Initially, she was a bit afraid of him and had her guard up. But lately, she's been thinking; he probably isn't such a bad person.
