"Children? I have to kill them?" he mumbled in shock then frowned and thought, "Bringing a Vampire to execution was fine since he was a criminal. Killing an adult Werewolf was fine as the quest demanded me to do it. Killing an adult Werewolf woman was fine as well as there is no difference between a Werewolf man and a woman. But killing children?"

He moved his eyes across all the children in the room before taking a single step forward and stepping into the room. The children didn't move an inch, they continued staring directly at this strange being in front of them. Their eyes showed no fear – only curiosity.

After taking this single step, he stopped and his thoughts continued, "Do I spare them?" He shook his head inwardly, "But if I don't kill them won't that make me a criminal as well and won't my so-called reward be an execution instead? But wait… the original quest line was to remove the plight that the village faces. Are these children the so-called plight? This can't be it right?"

He looked over them once more. "As I can see now, they are only children and no threat, but will the Vampire Queen – Erylis, see it that way? Do I risk my own life in trying to save theirs?" he frowned and his thoughts continued, "The Vampire Queen already showed me a negative reaction when I told her that I let that Vampire criminal go. How will she react when I say that I didn't kill 23 Werewolves?"

He took another step forward and now stood only two arm's length's away from the closest child. He looked at him and a sudden idea flashed in his head, "But wait… there is a third option there. I can take them to the Vampire Queen herself and let her decide to let them go or to kill them. This way, I won't have to risk my life by letting them go or going against my conscience by killing them."

He extended his hand and was prepared to cast a <Blood Gate> but at that time he thought, "Wait what even happens when I make a decision that is outside of the two defined ones?" He shook his head, casting away his thoughts and then he used a skill.

<Blood Gate>

He looked over the children once more, "Everyone, into the gate."

The children looked at each other and one of the bunch who was a boy spoke out, "What are you? You don't have fur on you and your face is deformed."

Dro frowned, "Nevermind who I am, go through the gate."

Another boy spoke out, "Will you tell us what you are if we go through this gate?"

Dro nodded, "I will."

The children looked at each other and nodded their heads to each other before they all started going through the Blood Gate; once they all passed through a notification flashed before Dro.

<(Hidden) Option Chosen>

<Quest Updated>

<Meet the Vampire Queen in her castle>

He raised his eyebrow in surprise, "So I can make my own decisions outside of the predefined ones? That's cool!" he smiled and walked through the Blood gate and once he did, he didn't see the 23 children only Erylis who sat in the throne before him.

He looked at her and said, "Where are the Werewolf children that I sent through?" After meeting her a few times, he now could speak to her without getting lost staring at her body or her eyes.

"Fifth, why would you send filthy mutts into my castle? The castle of the Vampire Queen?!" On her face, slight anger was visible.

"So she killed them," he thought and then answered honestly, "I didn't know what to do with them"

"Why didn't you kill them?" she asked, clearly displeased.

"They were just children," he answered honestly once again.

She scoffed, "Only children? They are Werewolves our enemy. It doesn't matter if a Werewolf is a child or not.

Dro frowned and then nodded, "I understand."

"What about their parents?"

Dro shook his head, "I never met their parents."

"So that means you still have work to do." She touched her chin with her hand and looked down for a brief moment in thought after which she raised her head and looking into Dro's eyes, "Since their children are now missing from their homes, their parents will be enraged and they will be a lot fiercer and I am afraid a newbie Progenitor such as yourself won't be able to handle those mutts once they are in their frenzied states. For this next task, you will go together with the fourth Progenitor Riku."

"Fourth, come!" she shouted out.

And with her call, a kneeling man appeared beside Dro, "Your Excellency!"

"Fourth you will go with Fifth and help him in killing the enraged Werewolves."

"As you command, Your Excellency," Riku said still in a kneeling position.

She extended her hand and cast a <Blood Gate>, "This gate leads to the Vampire Novice Village, now go and exterminate those mutts."

<Quest Updated>

<Riku joins your party temprorally>

<Find the parents of the 23 dead Werewolf children and kill them with the help of Riku>

Riku said once again, "Yes, Your Excellency." Dro nodded and said repeating Riku's words but without adding the honouring phrase, "Yes," he walked into the <Blood Gate> and Riku followed after but as he followed after Dro he wore a frown.

After passing through the <Blood Gate> they both appeared at the Vampire Novice Village and Dro turned his eyes to the minimap. He smiled as the quest was tracking and he knew where exactly was the cave. He turned his head to Riku, "Let's go."

Riku nodded, "You know where they are? Lead the way then."

Dro followed the quest tracker arrow and when he arrived at the location and saw the monster, he raised his eyebrow in surprise, he returned to the same area where he found the Werewolf elite before. He smirked and thought, "To think that two quests require me to kill the same monsters."

<Werewolf Guard, Level 10, Elite>

<HP: 1,000/1,000>
