Back when he got accepted in the ANBU many people doubted him, so he was challenged back then the high-level Jonin knew how stupid it was to challenge this boy even if he wasn't on their respective level he was close to it.
Yet a mere new Jonin challenged this freak of nature Robin, of course, accepted it was decided he would face one of the new Jonin's of the ANBU to receive his place in the assassination squad.

There they stood one boy just looking bored while a man before him started to release killing intent in the hopes of intimidating the boy in front of him. Yet the boy just looked at him bored after all the killing he went through his killing intent was at least 2 times higher than this guy in front of him.
'let's just end this really quick I want to start my mission's' (Robin)
Robin grabbed his new katana from his back while wings were forming at his shoes the spectators of ANBU were wondering what this was. but before they got their answer, Robin disappeared his speed was too high to be seen by some of the Jonin's, but Tsunade was shocked ' his speed is at the same level as Guy when he hasn't opened any gates.'
In the next instant, Robin appeared in front of the man and raised his left hand and started to pour out immense amounts of bloodlust while his katana made way for the man's neck. "Winner of this battle… Robin Hatake" (Tsunade)
And like this Robin had earned his place In his current squad he hadn't met them yet and was planning on going on a solo mission.
- Returning to current time -
"Alright, Robin what mission do you want to take," Tsunade asked wondering what kind of mission he wanted.
"Any mission is good" Robin didn't say this to help the village or anything he just wanted to improve his skills he didn't mind if he had to fight a strong opponent or just stealthy assassinate, someone, because both would prove to be useful in the long run.
He wasn't someone honorable that would always fight clean no when he knew he could die any moment he would choose to stealthy assassinate his target than to fight him one on one. 'In war, there is no honor only the winner and the loser' this is what Robin always believed.
She was thinking about what mission to give to the boy when she got an idea she would send him as back up for Team 7 or well the remnants of it after all Sasuke already went rogue and joined the snake baster but A while back she sent them away towards the village hidden in the sand to help them to retrieve their Kazekage Gaara.
She looked at the boy in front of her that was in a kneeling position and thought about it she knew his strength was close to the high Jonin level and she didn't have any other Jonin's to send right now.
It was cruel for her to send him on his first mission with the possibility of dying after all the information about Akatsuki was that they were all nearing the Kage level or perhaps over it.
Tsunade told him his mission was to help Team 7 and help the village hidden in the sand. Robin didn't mind this mission, but he just thought to himself 'so the story is already at this point huh' Robin wasn't scared anymore that he couldn't reach at least Naruto's level of power at the time of the last war. He just wanted to reach past it.
After all, right now he was improving at a fast rate in his strength and Naruto was just screaming RASENGAN every fucking second.
Robin looked up towards the current Hokage and answered with "then ill be going Hokage-sama," and before Tsunade's eyes, Robin merged into the darkness on his way to helping team 7 and his father.
When he reached the forest, he stopped and activated his Talaria wings (different name for Hermes wings) and used his full speed to run of course this speed was nowhere near the same level that he had shown in his previous battle with the newly Jonin.
While running Robin thought about all the things that this new life had brought him but yet he was disappointed 'I haven't even fought powerful people' as soon as Robin thought about that his blood started boiling from excitement the main reason being. He was going to face off against Kisame in the original story Guy would face off against him, but he wasn't sent for reinforcement so the only possibility was that Robin would fight him.
Of course, this was just merely a clone of Kisame with 30 percent of his power, but Robin felt excitement running through his veins. While he was running, he heard Cofa say "this guy smells bad" Robin thought it was him and felt offended, but then there was one of Kakashi's ninja dogs Pakkun.
"Hmm, this smell you are Robin huh well doesn't matter I will show you where to go," Pakkun said while looking at the attire the son of his master was wearing he recognized it easily, "so you have become an ANBU don't know if Kakashi would be happy with that but okay."
Robin totally forgot about this dog, but he didn't really care that he found him, so they started traveling together Robin put Pakkun on his head while the dog screamed directions.
After all, Robin's speed was on another level, so they traveled much faster than him following the dog.
In a certain cave holograms of people could be seen this was, of course, the Akatsuki talking to each other while Itachi started speaking towards Kisame. "there is an enemy closing in on us, but I don't know how strong this one is" Kisame glanced at Itachi before saying, "we will use that technique, and I will take care of that enemy."
