Turning to his companion, he is glad the slime had done its job and engulfed Valerie in a translucent bubble-like before, he could see the worried expression on her usually stoic face.
Giving her a smile, he reaches out to the bubble and grabs it, before swimming down the corridor while pulling it.
Outside, the whole scene has changed. The moss growing around the stone bricks gave a faint light, illuminating the place and giving it a slight magical feeling, although the seawater is limiting his range of sight, it is still enough to navigate through the corridor.
Taking a turn at an intersection, he was startled by a whip of a tentacle that almost got his hands. The tentacle look like any ordinary ones except these are have saw-like tooth covering them, the tentacle comes from a group of small and agile squids. Killing them aren't hard even underwater but they are using some kind of stonefish as their vanguard and tanker, it's hard shell isn't in any way inferior to the boss's scales and was a tough opponent to kill as he had to crush the thing by hand.
After clearing the creatures, he continues exploring the floor, after a while, the circles let out a dark blue glow and the water started receding, absorbed by the circles like a drainage system.
The usage of the circles actually intrigued him so he copied them to one of the blank pages in a book he found. His exploration took a while more, and by now he thought he figured out the intervals for the water rush.
If he is right, then the water comes in every 20 minutes and last for 15 minutes before being drained, every time the water comes in, monsters will spawn inside the place and they will disappear once the water dries up.
His exploration seems to have taken 3 days since the light cycle out on the water surface has pass that much, through all this time, Val did not read a single book, maybe she is afraid of them being ruined by water?
It is also to note that unlike before, his map recorded multiple floors for this one dungeon floor and it is starting to annoy him since there are times he fell down some stairs when the water receded.
Sighing, he could only hope that he'll find the exit sooner than later.
