Zion spends much time with Vivus learning the proper use of energy to sense his surroundings. It was difficult at first as he started to sense everything around him at the same time. The one thing he understood from this lesson was that knowing and applying the knowledge was two things.

Zion had extensive knowledge and experience from fighting the hordes of creatures, yet he failed to perform the basic recon. He understood that it takes few trials for him to meld his previous knowledge to practice. Zion trained as Vivus guided. After a few hours of training, Zion asked, "Why don't you do the recon?"

"That way we will be able to save time and complete our mission fast. I never saw you in an action, why is that?"

"Zion, I told you before, I was struck back to my primary form as a price for the manipulation of time. It will take decades for me to have a slight improvement unless of course, a miracle happened. We are not here to train me, but to awaken the battle efficiency and experience that you possess."

Zion shrugged and started to focus on controlling his energy. He started to sense his surroundings; he could feel the grass, insects and the flow of wind. It was an overwhelming experience, but Zion was able to maintain a sense of calmness due to his prior experience.

"The way to use energy properly, is to enhance your senses temporarily and sort out the needed information. When you amplify the senses, you are exposed to a wide range of information. You must be able to grasp what you want in a matter of seconds. It doesn't matter whether you know your opponent's next move if you can't successfully counter any of it."

Vivus continued to lecture Zion on the ways of energy manipulation. After a few hours, Zion rose from the ground with a drenched shirt. He was tired and full of sweat, but he was able to succeed in mastering the amplification of senses.

Zion decided to go deep into the mountains. The forest was dark and humid. The rustling sounds of leaves with the sound of crickets and other insects could be heard. The shadows of the animals passed by him as nothing bothered with him.

As Zion started to move forward, he sensed a wild energy nearby. It was a massive source of energy and the quantity was many times higher than what found in the sector Zero. Zion knew that with an energy source like this, it was only natural for a strong predator to exist near the source.

Zion moved cautiously and searched for any threatening creatures nearby. As he started to get near the energy source, he heard a growl from his back. Zion tensed; he knew that his battle experience was not going to save his life without adequate physical strength.

At that moment, his heart suddenly began to pound heavily while blood all over his body rushed to his head. In a split second, Zion felt dazed and worried as his face turned pale. He was confused and let himself lose the focus.

He felt as if numerous eyes are staring at him, he started to hear a lot more growls from the surroundings. He turned back and what he saw gave him a shock, 'it was a pack of snarling wolves'. The wolves always hunted in groups and the leader was the strongest, the alpha male. The wolves were gigantic and Zion noted they were also mutated.

Zion didn't know how to escape, he knew it was futile to run as he could never outrun a pack of wolves. They would tear him apart once they caught him. He could fight and win against the wolf king but perish under other wolves. Zion was desperate for an escape route; he knew that there will always be a way to survive.

He knew that the pack was waiting for him to move. Therefore, he stayed and looked around; he saw a large hole on the side of the source. Zion runs toward that hole with his life on the line. Zion didn't know where that hole will lead him to, but that was the only way he had seen.

As Zion moved, four wolves ran after him. They howled as they saw Zion running. He ran towards the Source and he saw an energy crystal. Zion understood in a split second about the source of energy here. It was all due to the energy crystal that this region was able to flourish like this.

The energy released by the planet was so high in this region that the energy crystallized. This crystalized form of energy contains a higher concentration of energy than anyone could possibly imagine. Zion took this energy crystal and jumped towards the large hole.

With red eyes, all the four wolves glared at Zion, he could feel the hatred of the wolves while taking the crystal. The wolves growled manically as though, he knew they had a hatred so deep that they would not let him go even after draining the last drop of his blood.

Zion knew jumping towards the hole was the only way to save himself. As he fell down, he started to smell an unbearable stench. It was so uncomfortable that Zion had an urge to vomit. He controlled his urge to vomit and realized that the ground was smooth instead of rough.

When he first fell down the surface was rough and hurt Zion on the many body parts. He thought it would take him time to recover from such a fall, but for sometimes the surface was smooth like baby skin. Even though there was an unbearable stench, he thanked heavens for saving his life from the wolves.

Zion looked at the energy crystal as he fell down. The energy emitted from the crystal was so pure and precious. He decided to absorb the energy as he fell; he didn't want to waste his time and left Vivus to arrange his security.
