After spending a night stabilising his power of Air and training his proficiency with the air element James felt he was ready to try some practical applications.
The first thing he practised was producing a stream of air from his palm and having it blow over a target he had set up. The air flow was initially gentle, but as he practised more James found his control improving and was now able to increase the sharpness of the air he was pushing, visualizing himself blowing forming a needle James was able to create a sharp tube of air that was capable of drilling through the straw target he had set up.
After trying some other ways to manipulate the energy James found that the air energy was a lot tamer than fire and the method of controlling it was a lot softer than fire which dragged along like a raging bull. After comparing the two energies, James decided to do one thing he had bee looking forward to since he got the air crystal, mixing his two powers.
After collecting the power of fire in his left hand and the power of air in his right James began to envision the control of the elementary particles, he saw a red group and a crystalline cluster of particles. He placed his two hands together connecting the bottom of his two palms and released the two particles in a constant stream.
Initially the two particles met and rejected each other, the red particles would annihilate the power of air and in turn grow stronger but after time James was able to create a balance between the two particles and had a sustained reaction causing the flame to gain speed and due to being fully oxygenated turn blue. The hotter the fire got, the brighter the red particles would get, and the faster James' power was draining.
One problem James had noticed was his activation speed, he would have to move the energy all the way from his energy pool to his palms before he could release his power, so he decided to test a hypothesis, he began with the power of air as it was easiest to control and least damaging if anything went wrong.
Moving the energy from his energy pool James began to compress the power outside of his body and formed it into a shape that he could maintain, after practising with every way he could think of James felt ready and began to create a symbol out of the compressed power. He decided to try and design a shape similar to a tattoo and so went with a symbol from one of his favourite anime in his past life.
After compressing the energy as much as he could, James began to make the outer layer of the shape put pressure on the core of the symbol and also made the core place pressure on the outside to stop the form from collapsing. After successfully maintaining the balance and having it become stable James realised that he would have to keep constant control of this symbol.
As James was thinking how to make the symbol self-sustained the system showed off one of its abilities.

'Well that saves me a hell of a lot of effort, but, do you think you could set up like a macro where if a certain activation is completed then the respective action is completed?'

'That's good to know, I will have to think up some good things, but for now, can you just keep this symbol stable.'
After not having to worry about the air symbol James began his efforts to tame the fire power in the same method as the air, he found himself taking a different approach as maintaining pressure like the air symbol took considerably more effort for fire. Instead of internal pressure, he decided to create a circuit around his arm that he could break at any point so the energy would already be moving quickly to get released saving him even more time.
After thinking about it, James decided to do the same with his power of air and realised that he could maintain a loop around his arm like a bangle made of energy. After stacking multiple layers of these bangles on top of each other James was able to store a large amount of energy that he could instantly use.
After sorting out the problem of speed when utilising energy James decided to tackle the problem of recharging the air crystal, when the air crystal was absorbed it had absorbed a small portion of the fire power and converted it to its own, so far James had no way to restore power when depleted.
'I suppose they could be left out in the wind, but I would imagine that would recharge very slowly, so what about using one of the bellows from the forge, I think I still have one out the back somewhere. I should probably make sure to keep a charged fire crystal on me as well.'
After thinking this far James set up his fire pit again and began recharging his fire crystal, he also started testing the movement of air particles. It seemed that when James moved the air power over his eyes, he could see the air element present around himself, using this he could see that there was a natural flow of air element floating around. While observing James noticed that air power was being drawn towards the fire recharging his fire crystal.
Realising this, James called for some workers to come and build a structure that would be capable of using the heat rising from the fire to funnel air through a tower running it over the air crystal he had placed in the middle. He also now used it as a fixed structure to hold his equipment for recharging the crystals and hide it from prying eyes. From the outside, it merely looked like a furnace, which wasn't out of the ordinary for someone who owned most of the blacksmiths in the outer district.
