James who was walking along the street almost fell hearing that; he had assumed that with his accumulation speed of 1 Exp a day the requirements would be quite low. Realising it would take him 45 more days to reach level 1 he understood he couldn't just passively accumulate Exp or he would be stuck in his pitiful excuse of a body forever.
'System what are the ways I can accumulate Exp?' James asked trying his hardest to control his emotions.

'Can you please stop talking about killing people!' James was starting to get the feeling the system had no regard for human lives and only cared about him staying alive.
James was heading towards the library not to read for once but to see how much it would cost to learn to read and write. With his learning ability, he believed it would be straightforward to do it as he had mastered any languages he could get his hand on in his past life; although they were of no use to him now.
Upon reaching the library, he found it was mostly deserted, and it seemed that most people in the outer district couldn't read at all. James found himself thinking of how these feudal cities always underestimated the effects of a well-educated populous. One other thing he had realised was the complete lack of housing for kids who had been abandoned. It seemed that abortions weren't something people would do in this world and it was illegal to kill your newborn child so parents who couldn't afford to raise them would simply discard their children to grow up in the streets much like the prior owner of James' body's parents had done.
Putting that to the back of his mind with no way to fix it he walked up to the clerk working at the library.
"How much would it be for me to be taught reading and writing?" James inspected the clerk with a long pointed nose with a pair of glasses perched on top of it.
"Reading lessons are 14 Leones and writing lessons 16 Leones" the clerk looked smugly towards James seemingly knowing with certainty that he would be unable to pay.
James, showing no sign of emotion simply said "Okay, thank you" and walked out from the library leaving the clerk with a shocked look on his face; apparently, he had expected a reaction from James.
On the way out he was reading a notification from the system.
[Receipt for prior services behind counter shows a cost of 8 Leones per lesson for a previous customer]
James thanking the gods for his new Frugal title knew that if he had to pay the standard fee of 8 per lesson let alone the increased cost from the crooked clerk he would be running uncomfortably low on funds, so he decided to take another trip to the casino.
Walking out from the third casino after a few hours with a sense of satisfaction of his new balance he headed back to the library.
'System show my balance.'

James walked towards the library with a big grin on his face formulating a plan to deal with the clerk at the library.
