The next morning Marcus awoke at his usual time, which was before the sun rose. He was alone in bed. This was unusual these days. Either in his apartment or her suite, he had her beside him and she liked to sleep late. He took in the scents and sounds of his apartment and realized he smelled coffee and she was definitely still in the living room. He dressed in his normal black shirt and grey trousers and headed to the kitchen for coffee.

As he was moving through his living space he could see her leaning against the lone window that looked out over Clan Home. It was twilight yet and the area still had a fog that had rolled in over night. She looked pensive. Grabbing his favorite Alpha Dog mug he filled it with coffee and joined her. She didn't look around or acknowledge his presence in any way. Just looking out over Clan Home. Setting his cup aside he put a hand around her hips and pulled her bottom back against his hips. "What is it?"

With this she leaned her head back against his shoulder. Her whole body relaxed against him as if to let him take away a burden. "I am probably going to have to go away for a few days. Want to come with me?" She wanted him to go with her and she didn't at the same time. She was going to have to kill and it was going to be ugly. Cally looked up at his chiseled face. Raising a hand she stroked his jaw tenderly. "Never mind. You have a lot of work going on right now. I can handle this. It's just I will miss you while I'm gone."

Marcus was giving serious consideration to going but she was correct it would be difficult to leave right now. "Where are you going? And for how long?" Cally looked back out the window as if she could see where she was headed. The night was giving way to lighter blues and grays as the sun rose behind them. "Somewhere in the Middle East. I'm not a 100% sure where yet. I'll know more when I am closer. How long? I don't know how long it will take yet because I'm not sure where he is. I think he's moving around quite a bit."

"A mad wolf." It was a statement on his part. Why would she go otherwise? "You need back up? Weapons, transportation, supplies, just name it." Marcus rubbed his face in her hair for a moment while his hands splayed across her lower abdomen. "I can shuffle some things around and come with you. Do you know who it is?"

"En, Yes, I know." Cally sighed from the bottom of her soul. Turning in his arms she put her arms around his neck and stared deeply into his eyes. "He's a few hundred years old, smart and cagey. He's been an Alpha for centuries. Taking people with me will just be troublesome. I don't want to stand out to the regular populace more than necessary. The best way I can think to take him out barring blowing him up from a stealth bomber is close quarter combat." She loved this man. She had loved him in more than a couple lifetimes. Losing him again would be like a knife to her soul.

Placing her hands on either side of his face, "My Beloved. My beautiful beloved Marcus. I was being selfish. It would be best if you stayed here." Marcus tightened his hands on her arms, "Are you actually trying to protect me?" He asked with more than a hint of displeasure. "No. Hm, yes maybe." She dropped her head on his chest and just let him hold her. After a minute she said,"Not the way you are thinking. It's one of your pack members. You should probably call your Father when you get to your office. He should be aware of the situation by then." Looking up, she gave him a sad little smile. "Please don't hate me." Cally gave him a quick kiss on the lips before leaving his apartment.
