"What happened to your hand? It seemed fresh, didn't you just arrive?" Akihiro sat behind his desk as he look at Raven who had returned to his usual serious look.
"I apologize for such a scene your highness. I wanted to move my body as I wait due to the long travel before arriving here, in the end I actually carelessly hit a tree in the garden. I guess I didn't understand my own strength," Raven replied with a bow.
'Careless?'
Akihiro understood very well, Raven was not someone to get careless. This word coming from him is obviously a lie. But he decided not to ask, it seems that this young man is hiding a great deal of difficulty.
Yukimura, on the other hand, could only glance at Raven. There is no way, someone could comfort him. In addition they are still uncertain of such things. Maybe, just maybe and he is hoping that is indeed true, only those who were revived by Reset are the only ones who would forget about her.
"I have read the documents that Kaoru brought back, it seems that they are finally getting back at their feet. In another year or so, I guess they will no longer need the guidance of the other three kingdoms. They can return to be a stand alone kingdom, this is something thanks to you," Akihiro changed the topic.
"Kaoru have told me, it was greatly due to your help that he was able to calmly judge what it is that should be done first. If it was me, I would have like you to be the candidate for being the new king in Hesperian."
Yukimura was completely taken a back by this. He knew just how capable his son is, he just didn't expect that his friend think even more highly of Raven.
"I don't think I am cut to be one though your highness. I can completely see everything because I am taking into consideration the capabilities of Kaoru himself. I can do this because I am looking at him in a third person's point of view. I wouldn't be able to do it if it were me who was in his position. No one could truly observe himself as good as someone observing him from the side."
Raven have learned this as he trained himself to remain as someone in the side. The way Eureka usually does, he was able to see much more than what others normally do.
Akihiro and Yukimura was once again in awe as they look at him, such potentials, who would have thought that he would have them. He was a descendant of great head knights, so seeing him weild his sword no one could complain.
And yet even with his predecessors being able to observe and decide in accordance to other person's capabilities was never seen.
"I see, very well then why don't you go and rest now? Your travel must be arduous, I've heard it wasn't even two weeks since you left. You must have been in a rush to return," Akihiro replied but there was also an underlying message.
'I wonder why you have to come back in such a rush?'
Raven didn't speak to which Akihiro could only sigh. Seeing as even Yukimura was not asking he could only let it go.
"Then have you ever thought of becoming the head knight? For me, you are more than capable to be the next one," he changed the topic.
Both he and Yukimura was confused upon seeing Raven looking shock when he heard this. They looked at each other and saw the same confusion in each other's eyes.
Raven bitterly chuckled, "Who would have thought, I actually haven't thought of anything that I should do in the future. I'm sorry, your highness, I haven't thought of those things at all. It seems that I was just doing things that was tasked of me."
The two of them looked at each other once again.
"Then what do you plan on doing now? I mean in the near future?" Akihiro deliberated before asking another question.
Raven was silent for a few minutes and just as he was about to open his mouth, Haruka came in with Hikari in her arms.
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't know you have guests," she instantly said upon seeing Yukimura and Raven.
"And welcome back, Raven."
"This knight greets her highness. I have returned," he bowed respectfully.
*GIGGLES*
Then Hikari's giggling engulfed the room as she wave her little hands in Raven's direction.
He was taken a back at first, if not for the eyes Hikari would really look like Eureka. He was not present when the little princess was born, he only received news of it and could only send his regards with a letter.
"Yaa.. *giggles* yaa yaa yaa..." Hikari started making sounds as she kept waving her hands to Raven.
Haruka first looked at her before walking to Raven, "Why don't you carry her? She seemed to want to meet you."
Raven first looked at Akihiro, who nodded, he then looked at his father, who gave him a go signal. Before he looked at Haruka who pushed Hikari closer to him.
He never carried a baby before, there are children surrounding them but he only watches them. So this is the first time that he would be carrying one.
"Yaa... yaa... ey *giggles*"
After staring at her for another few seconds, he finally took her in his arms and watched her closely. He placed her weight in one arm and held her hand with the other. Hikari giggled and took hold of his fingers.
She kept giggling and her eyes were twinkling brightly. She was looking straight in his eyes as if she could really see him clearly.
He gritted his teeth as he looks at her.

"You're too bright," he said as he sighed, then a smile broke from his lips that reached his eyes.
"We will make sure that you will have a life very much different than your elder brother and sisters. We will create an environment for you to grow up as peaceful as possible."
A new resolve grew inside him, there is no point in wallowing in what is going on. In everything she does, there would always be layers upon layers of plans, if she indeed wished for them to forget about her surely there are other plans before it.
What he and the others can do now is to make sure that the wishes she left to them would come true.
He then returned Hikari to Haruka before looking back at Akihiro, "My words might be too rude but Eureka is indeed truly a very selfish person. People think that she is selfless, giving her best in everything in order to help but behind that was her selfishness."
The three of them listened to him intently even Hikari became quiet as if she too could understand what he was saying.
"Despite that, I'll make sure that everything she wanted to happen shall happen. And I will wait no matter what happens to the day we all would meet again. I shall make sure that she will truly have a new beginning," he continued as he look at Hikari.
"And for that to happen, I wish to have your permission for me to remain as a knight who can do anything. This might be too much for me to ask. But I wish not to have responsiblities due to my title but instead I want to move freely and do things I see fit. But of course everything shall be in favor of the kingdom's best interest."
"Could you be pertaining to Eureka's resquested position back then?"
Back when he wanted to return her title in Archic, Eureka asked for him not to return it for she will be chained to the duties of a captain. Instead she wanted to be able to move freely without any responsibilities she must take care of for the day.
She wanted to do things for the kingdom without restrictions and in return, everything she will do will be in favor of the kingdom and in Akihiro's knowledge. In such a way, she could do things she needed without anyone asking her about.
"Yes, your highness, this knight is going to ask for such a position," Raven knelt and asked full of sincerity.
In this case, the position would be as freely as the king himself, he could go to the knights or discuss with the other officials. He could go to the border without much restrictions. All he needed to do is to make sure that Akihiro knew of everything he does.
Akihiro stood up and took his sword. This is a bit informal, for it would be done in only the presence of the head knight and the queen... and of course the little princess.
Even so, he unsheathed his sword and placed it in Raven's shoulder, "I, your king, shall bestow you this position. But you must vow your loyalty to Aurora Kingdom."
Raven bowed deeper, "This knight shall vow that his service would only be to Aurora Kingdom and the king. I vow that everything I do shall be for the people of our kingdom."
