Looking up Leo realized right away that the airship in the sky is definitely not Shadow. The ship was not a ship he had seen before.

"Is this a new manufactured ship? I wonder which race built it."

As Hiro painfully stood up he turned around to see what hit him and then he spotted the large vessel in the sky. He then took a quick look at Leo to realize the ship wasn't here for him either.

The ship opened fire on the two on the ground. Leo erected a buffalo wall in front of him and Hiro just in time. The laser blast blasted the walls and dust covered the area.

Hiro and Leo retreated behind some trees and rocks. Leo looked over at Hiro and asked, "Are these friends of yours?"

"No."

Leo thought that this new enemy might quarrel Hiro's anger, but he guessed that it was too much to ask for. Several purple humanoids exited the airship and scattered to look for Hiro and Leo.

Leo's mana sense told him that the twenty men were all Core Builders. "Hiro, they're all the same level as us."

This news frightened him. Even with his reinforcements from the Divine Kingdom, they would lose. Hiro was anxious. "You have any ideas?"

Before Leo could even formulate one three of the purple warriors sensed them and bee-lined in their direction. "Yeah, run."

Leo threw down an explosive smoke bomb he made out of a gemstone. The three men jumped into the dust only to see two figures taking up a defensive posture in the middle. They launched a combined saber attack and destroyed the two figures.

They walked over as the dust settled and saw two human statues shattered on the ground. Leo and Hiro ran away, and Leo left the two figures to replace them.

Hiro turned around to see they weren't chasing them. "It looks like your trick worked."

"Yeah, seems so."

The two stopped in their tracks and looked at each other. Their gazes told each other that they needed to gather their men and leave. Hiro didn't trust or want to team up with Leo.

"Lets part ways here."

Leo sighed and responded with, "ok."

Hiro activated his movement technique and ran off. Leo watched him leave with complex emotions. Would they ever be friends in this life?

Leo kept sensing for Goblin, Mouse, Shui, or even Shadow. He sent out a mana message, but only Shui responded.

"In battle. Can't talk," responded Shui.

"Shui be careful. There is a second enemy in the area."

"Mhm."

Leo knew that she was concentrating on her battle, but at least she was aware of the foreign enemy. All of a sudden he sensed Goblin's and Mouse's mana. Leo ran into the forest after them.

He arrived at a clearing where Mouse and Goblin had the two sailors tied up against a tree. Leo spotted them, and all four seemed to be spaced out.

"Goblin."

The sudden voice startled him, and he looked over and said, "Hey, Leo. Are you ok?"

"Yes. A new enemy has arrived." When Leo said that, they didn't seem surprised.

"Leo, watch out an enemy is behind you."

Leo turned to see two peggians attacked. One brandishing a saber and the other a straight sword. Leo blocked the saber with his bracer and launched an earth spike at the sword wielder. Both retreated seeing their surprise attack fail.

Leo sent a mana message to Golbin and Mouse. "Release the sailors and assist me."

Goblin frowned but released the two sailors. The two men looked at each other and ran into the brush disappearing.

"Leo, two more have arrived." Mouse yelled.

Two more peggians jumped out and attacked Leo with their fist. Leo jumped back to avoid them while Goblin and Mouse moved forward to exchange blows. Goblin and Mouse released a Shadow Strike, but the two newly arrived warriors turned and ran. One darted left and the other right.

"Mouse, you go after that one, and I'll get this one."

Mouse and Goblin chased after the two warriors. Leo wondered why they didn't execute Shadow Walk, but he had to focus on the Saber and Sword users attacking him.

At times like this Leo wished he finished making his new mace already. He pulled out his forging hammer to fight the two enemies.

The saber warrior released a wind slash, and Leo blocked it with a Buffalo Wall. Leo cringed in pain from mana exhaustion. Since becoming a Core Builder and obtaining his large reserve of mana, this is the first time Leo was running low on mana this bad.

The sword warrior got behind Leo and released a stabbing attack that released liquid raindrops that replicated several bullets being fired at Leo.

"Stone Statue. Absorb." Using his bracer, he started to absorb the attack. The rest of the technique pummeled Leo's stone skin. The earth like skin cracked but held up.

Then a wind slash hit him from the left side sending him flying. The stone skin on his left arm was shattered, and his shoulder was split open.

"These techniques seem like they fit perfect for them," Leo said to himself as he picked himself off the ground. He looked around and the two already vanished.

Heavy rain poured down upon Leo. He leaped out of the way to be slashed in the back by a wind slash from the Saber Warrior. The wind ripped through his backs stone armor and shredded his skin. Leo flopped forward but caught himself on his right front toes and spun around.

"Taste this!" He released the rain attack upon the Saber user. The Sword User jumped in front of him and executed a hundred strikes destroying the attack.

The Saber warrior jumped over his comrade and attacked Leo with a heavy vertical slash downward. Leo blocked it with his hammer only to be pushed back. The attack even left a chink in his hammer.

The Saber warrior kicked Leo into the chest, and a wind blast launched him backward into a tree. The rest of Leo's stone armor shattered and he broke a rib.

The sword warrior came from the other side of the tree and stabbed through. Leo sensed him in time to leaped forward just in time to not have his back pierced by the sword's tip.

The saber warrior slashed down on Leo again. "ROOOARRR!!!!!!!" Leo released his King's Roar disrupting the saber warrior's technique in time to counter with an Ascending Sun attack with the hammer.

Leo was heavily breathing. These two Core Builders weren't even tired, and their technique was superior to Leo's. Leo started to wrack his brain for some idea to survive their next attack.
