Sophie and Shawn were making their last round around the store for an impromptu shop after Sophie wanted to spend her night at his house tonight.
"Anything else you need, Sophie?"
Shawn question made her give it a serious thought. They had already got matching tableware, matching toothbrushes, a new towel, female toiletries that she usually used, her own pair of home slippers that in similar design as Shawn had in his house, a pair of disposable lingerie, a few others that caught her eye.
"No. Let's queue to pay and go back."
But in the middle of their queue, Sophie felt dull pain so she went to the washroom, leaving Shawn to queue by himself. There are another two more customers in front of him, so he took the time to look at the checkout counter for any additional purchases.
Then he saw something that entices him to purchase - condoms.
There were different kinds of condoms available there - glow-in-the-dark type, flavored type, colored type, studded type that shaped to increase pleasure and even edible condoms. Shawn felt like he just being enlightened in how much advance the market of birth control is.
Shawn took another look at his queue, another one more left before his turn. He then takes a look if he could see Sophie returning or not. When he saw nothing, he breath in relax. The customer in front of him now in midst making payment for his purchases.
After a short wait, it was finally Shawn's time. Before he stepped in closer to the counter, he speedily made an impulse purchase. He took a few boxes of a different type in his size before making payment.
The cashier gave him a knowing stare while say nothing and continue to scan the items. Shawn made a payment and left to wait for Sophie at near the mall entrance after sending her a text and hide his 'treasure'. He waited around a few minutes before he found Sophie walking towards him with an extra plastic bag from a drugstore.
"Sorry, did you waited long?" Sophie asked.
"No. What did you purchase?"
Sophie was leaned closer to him and sheepishly answered in a low voice, "Sanitary pad."
