Braedon stayed silent while they walked through the dimly lit room. Usually the rooms would be lit up with torches hanging from the walls, but this one only had one torch on its wall. Not only that but it seemed that the room was endless.

Both Kai Jun and he have been walking in the same direction for thirty minutes. By now they should've gotten to the other side of the area but instead they just kept moving forward.

"This room is a little strange."

"Oh do you think Kai Jun?! What have you that idea, the fact that there isn't anyone in here, there aren't any other doors or stairways, or the fact that we've been walking in the same direction for thirty minutes!"

Kai Jun looked taken aback as if Braedon's outburst really hurt his feelings. Braedon couldn't help but release a sigh as he apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm just really impatient. We are so close back to my home and I can't hold back my excitement. I can't help but wonder what happened while I was gone?"

He did not blame Braedon for what he said. Kai Jun understood the feeling of wanting to go home, but before they could do that they had to figure out what the dragon meant by the boss of the thirteenth floor.

Although Kai Jun was the one who brought Braedon here, and he was also the one who knew the most about the tower, everything about the tower was still a complete mystery to him.

Especially a room like this, Kai Jun had no idea what was wrong with the physics in the room. It was almost as if someone else was controlling their movements...

"Braedon, step back a little." Kai Jun commanded Braedon to do something and he did it without question. After all this time, Braedon's trust in Kai Jun grew to the extent that he even trusted him with his life.

Kai Jun raised his arms up into the air and took in a deep breath before giving off a shout, "RELEASE!"

Small breaks formed in the walls and ceiling surrounding them and bright light flooded through the cracks. Eventually everything fell apart and their surroundings were revealed. It was different than what they have been seeing. Instead of the usual empty rooms filled with torches. It was more like a hallway than a room l, and it was covered in graphic paintings, gold, jewelry, and at the very end of the hall was a throne made out of the bones of different animals.

Braedon paid close attention to this throne and swore that some of the bones were human's as well.

"Don't drop your guard Braedon, whatever set that barrier in this hallway is still around or else it wouldn't be stationed here."

They both advanced slowly within the room, checking their surroundings to figure out who, what, or where this final boss was. As they got closer to the throne, a wave of darkness suddenly appeared out of nowhere and enveloped itself around the seat.

The shadows began to slowly fade back and form into the shape of a man. The man was made of shadows and his entire body was covered darkness, none of his characteristics could be made out. The shadowy man stood up from his chair and walked towards them in a calm and collected manner.

His dark body oozed out an evil aura while his footsteps caused the floor around him to be lit on fire with a black flame.

Braedon prepared himself to slash the feather in his hand forward if the shadowed man attacked, and Kai Jun placed his hand upon the hilt of his sheathed blade.

The Shadow man stopped just before he entered into their attack range and a quiet, powerful, and commanding voice called out to them, "Hello, little heroes. Now isn't it a bit rude to hold onto a weapon while being in another person's home?"

He spoke unperturbed, as if he wasn't worried about them striking him down.

Although Braedon was sure that he had never met this shadow man before, a strange ominous feeling came from him. More specifically, the white, gigantic bag that was covered in bloodstains in the man's hand was what was giving off a familiar sense.

Braedon couldn't recall where this feeling came from or what it meant, but this just made him all the more guarded against the man.

He looked over to see what Kai Jun was doing and noticed that he was also staring at the bag. Kai Jun's face was a little pale and he closed his eyes for a second before reopening them and allowing his face to regain some color.

"As I thought, that feeling was..." Kai Jun whispered some words under his breath and pulled his sword out of its sheathe. He pointed the tip at the Shadow man and said in a calm and collected voice, "So you're the last boss, am I correct?"

With a nod, Braedon knew who his enemy was and prepared himself for battle. But before he could do anything the man called out, "Before we fight, I have a small gift for you in this bag." He threw the bag over and a ~shplop~ sound came out as it landed in front of the two.

Braedon confusedly look at the began and was about to go investigate it. Before he couLd, Kai Jun's blade blocked his path and he said to Braedon, "Don't touch that bag, just leave it there."

A black crescent formed on the Shadow man's face and Braedon assumed that this was him smiling, "Aww, big brother over there is protecting his little friend. But why do you hide the truth from him? Let me just say that it was a painful way to go, after all no one is allowed to betray me."

Braedon's brow creased at his words, "Betray, what do you mean?"

"Oh little boy, why don't you understand? I made this tower to find myself a worthy opponent, and as such all of its inhabitants are my people whose job is to simply either kill any and all challengers or be killed by the challengers. Those who reach the end are to entertain me with a battle."

His voice became more quiet and deep but Braedon still understood everything he said, "And no one is allowed to just let the challengers move on to the next floor without punishment..."

Realization dawned upon Braedon as he looked at the bloodied bag, "Kai Jun...please let me see it." Kai Jun had hesitation appear in his eyes as he contemplated on what to do.

In the end he drew back his blade and allowed Braedon to see the contents of the "present".

The dragon's head rolled out of the bag and lied in front of Braedon and Kai Jun. although he couldn't see his expression, Kai Jun knew that Braedon was furious.

He was the type of person who deeply cared for his friends and although they only met and talked for a few hours, he considered the female dragon as his friend. Braedon's fist clenched so hard that if he had a physical body, blood would have been spilling out of his palms like a faucet.

"Braedon..."

"Kai Jun, I can't forgive him for what he has done." Without even responding , Kai Jun nodded as a smile appeared on his face.

As Braedon finished saying this, wonderful surprise shined in front of him. Braedon's aura flowed freely out of his body. While it was weaker than what his realm suggested, Kai Jun didn't care especially when he saw something else flow out of him.

A bright blue energy surrounded the out layer of the aura Braedon released. Kai Jun gave off a chuckle as he raised up his blade, "Let's f*ck him up then."
