The next morning, Shi Xue went downstairs for breakfast earlier than usual. The maids and butlers greeted her and she responded politely with a sweet smile.
"Ma'am, is master still sleeping? Do you want to wait for him before having breakfast?"
"I don't know if he is still sleeping. I need to be somewhere later, so I will eat my breakfast before him."
The maid nodded and prepared her meal. After eating, she got dressed and went to visit her mom. She didn't feel like talking or discussing anything, but she was very interested in this Cliffard guy. Soon, she reached the elder's mansion. She called her mom to let her into the mansion.
After hearing that her daughter came to visit, she rushed to the gates to greet her. The first thing she noticed were her slightly red eyes.
"Dear, what's wrong? Did you cry last night?? Did Zhi Hei bully you?"
She shook her head and looked dispirited while Qian Ling patted her back. "Did you come alone? Come come! it's so cold outside."
Mother and father Huang informed the chef to make an additional share of breakfast for Shi Xue to enjoy while she is here. Seeing her dispiritedness, mother Huang gave her a huge hug. "Ohhhh sweetie! I haven't seen you for sooo long. Let Mother Huang check you out.. you didn't gain a lot of weight, but is better looking than last time. Did you come alone?"
Shi Xue nodded and went straight to the point for why she visited.
"Mother and father Huang, I have a question that I want to ask."
Mother Huang clapped her hands and dragged Shi Xue to the dining table, "Do ask. Ask whatever you wish! Families don't need to be this formal!!"
"mm... Do you know who Cliffard is?"
Mother and father Huang instantly stopped moving and looked at her awkwardly, "Dear... he is Zhi Hei's friend since 8. They are pretty close to each other."
She sensed the awkwardness and continued questioning, "Is he gay?"
Mother Huang was stunned that Shi Xue was this sharp with her 6th sense, "Yes.. well, I realized it long before and since he didn't really made a move on Zhi Hei, I didn't confront him about it. You see, we are more open minded than others of our age when it comes to sexuality preferences. Don't tell Zhi Hei what I'm about to tell you okay?"
She nodded and listened carefully. Mother Huang sighed.
"Cliffard was a man who had a promising future. With his looks and status, he could've gotten any girls or well guys if he wanted,but he had his eyes set on our Zhi Hei. Of course, our son is too simple minded to even think Cliffard would be one bit interested in him. The previous girls that Cliffard had dated were all arranged by me to see if he could change his mind. I wouldn't have minded if all he did was stay by Zhi Hei's side, but he dared to interfere with Zhi Hei's love interest. "Shi Xue, mommy knows you will do this, but I still want to tell you to be careful. A person like Cliffard could be jealous to an extreme extent. He might cause you harm. Don't lower your guards wherever you go. When you want to go back to the mansion, we'll escort you back."
Shi Xue shook her head, "I can go home myself. I don't want him to know I came here or else he might think I am complaining to others about us."
