Near the end of the senior year of high school, Ke Shen and Luna had upgraded from strangers, friends to good friends. Though the progress between them had been slow, Luna felt content over the littlest things Ke Shen would do. He may speak little to few words, but his actions say more than a thousand words.

Most of the time, she would be the one talking to him. Her random thoughts would gain a small curve on his lips or a gentle gaze. At first, they would go separate ways after school. Now, they would sometimes go for a small snack or meal after classes ended. Since college entrance exams were around the corner, they came to an agreement on studying together.

Of course, she was the only who needed the most help. As a result of her puppy look during their first study session; Ke Shen bought a stack of practice books and highlighted areas that were the keys to understanding certain concepts. Although the mountain stack of books looked as if it could be taken off the book shelves by random; only he knew how long it took him to read summaries and previews of these books to choose the most simple ones.

After the three hours study session with her, he took note on her weaknesses and ways to improve her understanding. Since they only meet up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to study at the library, he scrolled through his laptop for the easiest study materials at home. Not only that, he highlighted and scribbled notes on the side to make her life easier when reading!

Twitching her lips, Luna stared at the stack of practice books that stacked taller than her head. Her pen had stopped spinning, and mouth was left parted. "Is..Is this all for me?"

He nodded and handed her the first book. "Your weakest topic." Staring at the numbers on the front cover of the book, she forced a swallow down her poor throat. She couldn't describe the complexity she felt at this moment!

Seeing her pleading expression, he maintained his poker face and flipped the book opened. Her eyes immediately caught the different colored highlighted sections. On the side, he noted:

"Yellow: Key points

Blue: Examples to follow

Pink: Explanations to focus on

The non-highlighted parts are useless. Ignore it"

Holding the book up and then back down, her eyes laid unblinking at the guy in front of her. "Did you do this all for me??"

"Out of convenience. I was studying, so I highlighted and wrote on it as I reviewed." He wanted to bite his tongue for saying these words. How could he not admit his efforts? How many hours did he spend on scrolling through books and reading summaries until his eyes needed eyedrops? How many more hours did he spend going through all these books? And now he's denying his work so naturally!

Lifting his head as if he wanted to say something, his parted lips pressed against each other. Her cheerful smile was all it took to diminish all salty feeling and sleepless nights in his heart. "Thanks! I appreciate it!" She hugged the open book to her chest as if it were her life.

"Mmm." He looked back down on the textbook while hiding his curved smile.

Within the two-months' time they had left before the college exams, Luna completed all the books he had prepared for her. To ease her stress, he created his own exam questions ranging from easy to university difficulty. Many questions were taken from previous exams that he found online.

To her surprise, once she held a tight grip on her pen, her hands started scribbling as if she had previously memorized the answers. She knew how to work on most of them and went back to the ones she was confused about. When time was up, she had finished reviewing the answers twice before handing it to him.

Watching his red pen mark the exam, she put her head down and felt the devil stomping on her little heart.

"I'm done grading. Take a look at it yourself." When she raised her head slightly, she saw 89 points!

"You're kidding!" Taking the exam in her hands with a wide smile, she heard his praise for the first time.

"Not bad. If you did the last two problems correctly, you would have gotten a full score." Seeing the girl wave the exam paper in the air as if she had picked up a million dollars, he smiled.

Pursing her lips slightly, she placed her hands on either side of her hips and bent forward. "you couldn't have praised me properly? Tch, what do you mean not bad? If you gave me these two months ago, I would have laughed like a clown and juggled to avoid getting a zero from you."

Hearing her small complaint, he let out a soft laugh. Extending his arm towards her, he started stroking her head. "Good job." Her eyes widened in shock when she realized he had initiated a move for the first time. Though she had always stuck to him like glue and he never pushed her away, he never did anything like this!

In the past, she came up with excuses to hold his arm or hand. This was the first time he actually looked at her with such a warm expression! Suddenly, her face heated up as if she was cooking without the fan on. Her eyes itched as if she was chopping onions and watered in the following seconds.

Her reaction scared him as he quickly retracted his hand. "Sorry, did I startle you?" Afraid that he might have somehow hurt her, he apologized. Shaking her head and rubbing her eyes at the same time, she said, "I'm very happy! These are happy tears! Ke Shen, I'll definitely score sky rocket colors to not drag down your name!"

"Mm." Hearing her words made the knot on his chest loosen. 'Thank god I didn't make her upset. Girls are unpredictable animals...'
