After a day of treatment, Shi Xue didn't have any improvements or signs of waking up. As time went on, Zhi Hei never gave up on her or left her side. He continued feeding her the medicine mouth to mouth. Chen Mu didn't slack off either and continued boiling medicine for her and brought it up once it is time for her to drink it.
Finally... the final hours of day 2.
Chen Mu shook his head as he put down her hand after taking her pulse. "There's no change. After tonight, the chances of her to waking up is going to reduce. This is the last bowl of medicine for tonight. "
Zhi Hei held onto her hands tightly as he asked Chen Mu to give them some privacy.
After Chen Mu left the room, Zhi Hei opened her palm and drew a heart.
"What I say may not be getting through to you. But that's alright, I'll draw and write it out on your palm."
He slowly traced the letters: I-L-O-V-E-Y-O-U. He smiled as he looked at her with tender eyes and stroked her smooth hair.
"Remember our deal? I've done my part and told you everything from how we met to felt towards you. You need to take responsibility for me. Even if you don't wake up, you will be my wife. Whether you wake up or not, I'm willing to care for you through sickness and health. You'll be my one and only..." his eyes widened and looked at her fingers. Her fingers... fingers moved!...
he excitedly called out "Shi Xue? Shi Xue!!"
"CHEN MU QUICK COME COME!!"
"WHAT HAPPENED?? DID SHE WAKE UP?"
"H...her fingers it moved just now!! Go go check on her!!"

"How is she? Will she wake up" Zhi Hei said with hopefulness.

"It's alright, I'll still be here for you. When you wake up, the first thing and person will be me. Even if chances are reduced after tonight, I'll still believe that you'll wake up and smile at me.I'll be waiting for you..."
After a while of observing her condition, Zhi Hei fell asleep silently by her bedside.

The dark shadow that used to be blurred in my dreams is now becoming more visible...

As a flash of bright light raced towards her direction...

Huh... where is...my room..? I ... was.. RIGHT I WAS ON MY WAY TO FIND ZHI HEI...!! ZHI.. HEI I NEED TO GO RIGHT NOW she said to herself..
When she tried to move, she gave out a painful "sss." She noticed a familiar figure by her side holding her hand.. It was Zhi Hei...
She sighed in relief when she saw that he was perfectly fine and sleeping soundly by her side..but how did I get back to my room.. ahh I slipped down the stairs...
She tried to twist her body sideways to watch him sleep to make sure she's not dreaming. She had a hard time as she felt an enormous pain when she put her body weight was put on her legs. Finally she was facing Zhi Hei.
"His dark eye circles got deeper, and his face... had dried teardrop traces on it... was he crying? but why..? I remember hearing his voice during my sleep... but it seemed distant so I didn't hear much... I only remember.. " she blushed slightly as she looked at her palms.."he traced a heart and wrote I love you on it."
-Door opens-
Chen Mu walked in to give Shi Xue another body check. As he stepped into the room, he froze. He saw her awake and was staring at Zhi Hei whose still sleeping. Shi Xue quickly placed her index finger to her lips telling him to keep quiet as Zhi Hei is still sleeping. Chen Mu silently walked to the other side of the bed and gave her a simple check up before nodding his head and leaving the room. Although her leg hurt very much and a layer of sweat formed on her pale face, she continued to watch Zhi Hei in the same posture. She smiled gently and touched his smooth wavy hair.
Zhi Hei mumbled "Don't go.. Shi Xue.. stay with me"
She touched his forehead where creases formed and whispered "I'm right here.. I won't leave.."
Probably because he sensed her presence, his creases slowly faded and he was sleeping soundly again.
After two hours, Zhi Hei finally woke up. The first thing he heard in his half awake state was her voice "You're finally awake." When he heard this sweet voice.. he quickly rubbed his eyes and focused on the girl in front of him whose smiling brightly towards him. His eyes reddened when he saw the girl's warm smile and smiling eyes.
"Shi ..Shi Xue.. it's you.." he said as he hugged her.
"mmmm it's me." she said sweetly as her arms wrapped around his back patting him gently.
"You...You.. are you feeling any pain anywhere? I..I'll go get Chen Mu!"
She held onto his hand as he turned around to find Chen Mu.
"No.. stay here.. I'm fine.." she pulled him closer to her.
He knelt by her side and saw that she had a layer of sweat on her forehead..
"You just woke up, I need to get Chen Mu to come examine your condition..."
When he said that, she moved her body and an painful hiss came from her as one of her eyes closed slightly and area between her eyebrow tensed up.
He quickly called for Chen Mu to come and check her condition.
Chen Mu: "Ah, young master you're awake! The miss had been watching you the whole afternoon" he teased

Zhi Hei:"If you saw that she was conscious, why didn't you wake me up??"
Chen Mu snickered as he replied "I'm innocent!! She signaled me to be quiet as I came to examine her while you slept soundly okay? I'm only following what she wants.. tch"
Zhi Hei: "Oh..." as he turned his attention to the pale girl leaning against the bed.
"Wait.. wait now is not the time to ask this! She felt pain when she moved just now!! Quick come give her a check up!"
Chen Mu: "Alright.. alright~"

"She's fine since she woke up. Now all she needs are nutritious meals and bed rest."
"Ehhh?? another bed rest session to come?? " she frowned
"Well well~ my dear, you have a small fracture on one of your legs and a sprain on your right wrist. So tell me what can you do other than stay in bed and be a good patient~"
"Be good. You were unconscious for the past few days. You know how worried I was?"
"Huh..? I was unconscious? I thought I was just sleeping...."
*cough* "Anyways, I'll prescribe a new medicine for her so you can keep her company and make sure she doesn't move around~"
After Chen Mu left the room, Zhi Hei pulled her into his embrace. He couldn't describe such happiness. When he felt her positioning her head on his chest, he gently brushed her hair.
The silence broke when Shi Xue moved her wrist slightly and let out another pain sound.
He let her out of his embrace and gently massaged her right wrist while looking at her with tenderness. She laughed as she saw his anxious reaction.
"Does it still hurt?
"Mmm a little bit, not that much. I'm feeling fine."
"Be careful when you move around. If you're bored I'll get a wheelchair and bring you out okay?"
She nodded with a bright smile. Seeing her smile again filled his heart with warmth.
"Oh.. right!! Are you okay??" she asked
He titled his left eyebrow and replied "Nothing's wrong with me.. why did you ask?"
"Ooo because that day I fell down the stairs, I was rushing to go find you at the hospital! A maid came in and told me that a car was ready for me...but you just said everything is fine..?"
"...Shi Xue, do you think you can recognize the maid's face?"
"Mmm... I can draw you a sketch of how she looked like... but why?
"I was never hurt to begin with.. someone planned your fall.."

"I'll get you paper and pencil. Don't pressure yourself if you can't remember or have trouble drawing her out okay?" he rubbed her cheeks gently before going out to get the supplies.
