The Morale stage was probably the most annoying one. The stage wasn't about strength or anything, but it was basically only me answering questions and pulling my answer through.
The first questions came from the miners, all with context to their usual surroundings. Dark tunnels, sometimes dungeons, close quarter fights with beasts and of course accidents.
Miner:" If two of your coworkers get stuck, after a rocks fall onto them - one of them hurt their legs the other one is unconscious and you don't see any wounds. Who do you save?"
This was actually a hard one, the ones before all had obvious answers. Some were even yes or no questions!
Ce:" I will save both if I can, but I would rescue the one with hurt legs first. The possibility of him surviving is higher."
It seems I got the answer right, but I know that there is no right answer to those questions. The miners still had their turn.
M:" If there is a tunnel breaking in, and you know beforehand, would you go in to report the ones inside?"
The obvious answer would be to go in and report, but it was wrong. If I go in, I cause slight tremors and the tunnel will crash even faster. Then I was thinking about what I could do then.
I can't shout either, magic is not a good choice either.
I got it. The best choice was shutting the lights inside out. The switch outside, thank god for leprechaun smithing, is able to do so.
Ce:" I would do so. But not by running in, instead I would turn off the lights a few times. The workers will notice a problem and come out."
Muttering gets loud. Apparently my answer was unexpected. What would've been the right answer then?
Laurin:" Very well. I think the miners are convinced. The answer they got was worse than yours was, they have no other choice. I think we can skip nurses, the problems are around the same. My turn"
The king probably has the hardest choices. One decision can take down entire kingdoms, no answer can be good for everybody. Evaluating this will be pretty hard.
L:" First question right to the point. If you were the king, and your species was endangered by another one, would you rather hide or fight them?"
This question is way to undetailed. There is no way I can decide like that.
Ce:" I need more details. In what ways is my species endangered? Who would my enemy be, what are my chances to win a war? Have I got good places and ressources to hide?"
Lauring seems satisfied with this answer.
L:" Think about this species being attacked by humans. On the verge of becoming slaves, no chance to actually find together and fight."
No thought needed. This was just like the commoners were back then.
Ce:" Not being able to fight doesn't exist. But obviously, I would've to ignore my pride and run, then hide. If possible I'd try to gain allies with messengers, then gain back my place. I would take much time to do so, if I actually do so. The risk has to be very low."
Laurin strokes his beard, thinking if it was a good choice.
L:" Your choice is very similar to the one I made, do you think I was right?"
Ce:" I don't see any of the inhabitants here dissatisfied. I don't know if completely hiding was necessary, but the choice is working well."
Laurin:" Fine, fine. What about if you were the superior species?"
This was also a question I already asked myself pretty often.
Ce:" I would look for a bond, giving them a firm and solid position. Everyone has a job, giving one job less value is just dumb."
The leprechaun king seems sunk in thought, waving me to go. I don't really know if I passed, but it seems I got through. Looking at the clock proved that I was answering questions longer than I thought.
I used up the spare hours from the physical stage aswell. Damn, what would the next stage be?
I suppose it has to be something I either have no idea about, or something inbetween the first two. Or maybe something consisting of both?
