Arthur watched as the potions arced through the air. The liquid inside the vials swirled as the containers turned buffeting the wind that blew against them on their trajectory. The brilliance of the red liquid inside the vial caught the light of the flames that was coming from behind the zombie general. There was a surreal feeling to the whole experience.

Even though the zombie general's facial muscle had pretty much decayed for him to do any discernible facial expression, Arthur could sense the distress from his adversary. As the vials of liquid flew at him, the general tried to retreat but he came up against the wall of force that Arthur had already set up behind him.

As the threat neared, the zombie general reacted instinctively, which was with aggression. He used the staff and swung it at the vials. The vials were made of glass and the staff was made of metal. This was like throwing eggs at a stone wall, it was clear as day what was going to happen.

Arthur was unable to see the event clearly due to the dimness of the area but the sounds that the young man heard provided more than enough clues.

Naturally, the glass vials shattered as it came into contact with the zombie general's steel staff. Underneath the voice of his own shout, Arthur could hear the sound of the glass shattering.

Once again, Arthur was given a reminder of the importance of staying calm under even the most stressing of situation. What the zombie general did under duress only made the situation worse for him. The glass vials shattered and the liquid inside showered generously over him.

Feeling the resistance against the wall of force lessening, Arthur relented and allowed the voice materialization to slow down. He supposed the zombie general already have more than enough to deal with on his plate.

This was the first time since the battle with the zombie general began that Arthur heard the enemy scream in agony. There was some weird sizzling sound which sounded like something was being cooked as well as the distressed moans from the zombie general, it was an audio memory that Arthur would not mind forgetting.

The irony of the health potion, being a life-giving liquid, was a fatal weakness for the powerful zombie general was not lost on the young man. It taught him a valuable lesson. In this world, there was nothing that was fully invulnerable. 'Everyone has their weakness and every problem has a solution,' those were the words that Arthur lived by.

Eventually, the sound of the zombie general faded away. Arthur was unable to tell whether this meant the general's torment was over or this was yet another trap laid by the zombie general. At least based on the audio cues alone, it sounded like the former.

Arthur moved closer to the zombie general with his ears perked up, listening closely to the sounds in the maze. If there was any sign that said the general was still alive, he was going to retreat instantly and come up with another plan.

Arthur was very careful as he stepped past the zombie general. From the cursory glance, it did seem like his adversary finally got his restful ending. However, to be sure, Arthur raced from the scene back to the throne room. He found some wooden plank lying around and crafted a makeshift torch using the fire that was already dying.

He returned to the spot in the maze where the zombie general's body was. Arthur did not know what to expect but he was definitely not expecting what he saw. The zombie general had technically "melted" away and all that remained of the mighty general was his armor, the staff and a pile of white bones.

Arthur stood there as he examined the remains of his opponent. He considered carrying the armor with him because it still looked quite sturdy and tough. However, after weighing the trouble of having to haul it back to the city and the fact that it was not in Arthur's size, the young man decided to leave it be.

The same decision was made for the pile of bones. Arthur had no use for those either. He was not a necromancer who would treat these as valuable treasure.

In the end, the only thing Arthur looted from the zombie general was his weapon. The staff with the bell attached to it was important to Arthur. He was not going to give that up.

With that threat out of the way, Arthur returned to the throne room. He did not have the chance to investigate the middle of the room, namely the throne and the area around it before he was dragged to a life or death challenge by the zombie general.

He examined the throne and to Arthur's disappointment, it was just a normal stone chair. There was nothing particularly special about it. He checked to see if there was a hidden compartment, there was none. At one point, Arthur even sat on it. Nothing happened.

The fire from the explosive deal was on its last leg of life when Arthur finished examining the throne. He needed to find a new source of light if he did not want to get stranded in the darkness.

Arthur walked to the shattered pieces of the moon. Floating in the pool of oil, Arthur felt like he was looking at the galaxy. As beautiful as it was, it was of no use to Arthur. The light from the broken pieces was too dim to help light Arthur's way.

Before Arthur could figure out a solution, the last whisper of the flame went out. He looked around and all he could see was darkness. Arthur assumed he would be able to find the exit at the throne room but that definitely did not happen.

So… what was the young man supposed to do now? How was he supposed to escape?
