"What?!" Cielo exclaimed on the phone, and Zach laughed out loud as he continued, "Don't worry, I will return him before your wedding, I promise."
"No!!! Are you trying to jinx my marriage, Bro? I will only let you borrow him when I have a little sister for Dice!" Cielo irritably hissed.
"I heard he's good in computers and tactics. Let me just see how good he is, okay? I will send you some files and equipment soon. Work on it with your husband from home… I will not put him out in the field yet since you refuse to let me. But make sure you work on that little sister for Dice properly, because Drey is a candidate for a promotion to a higher rank," said Zach before he ended the call still laughing.
Cielo's face was crumpled. Getting a higher rank meant spending more time at the Military Base, more missions, and more battles.
She was not even that intimate with Drey yet. And now, when the General was planning to take away her husband, how was she supposed to realize her plans of getting a sister for Dice?!
She had heard that Zach and Torin were up again for a top-secret mission. She was missing those missions with the two of them so much.
"What's wrong? Why do you look like that?" asked Drey who came in, with Dice sitting on his neck. He immediately noticed the annoyance in Cielo's expression.
"Your General… is soon giving you an assignment," Cielo dryly mentioned.
"Really? Where is it?" Drey excitedly asked. He was actually excited to go on the real battle. He had discovered that he had a hidden talent in battle tactics. He couldn't wait for the time when he would be able to apply it in real combat or in a mission.
"You want to go?" Cielo asked.
"Yeah, I want to experience the real thing," answered Drey as he put Dice into his big crib.
"Our wedding ceremony is near… Are you for real? Do you know that your life will always be on the line once you go with Zach? That man has nine lives, but I think he only has two left right now," Cielo cried out as she enumerated how many times Zach's life was put on the line and he miraculously survived it.
"I think every soldier has it, so I still have nine of my own," said Drey in jest.
Cielo pouted her lips and walked toward Drey with narrowed eyes.
"You really wanna go and leave me here, huh? Are you already sick and tired of my presence?" Cielo asked as she moved forward while Drey moved backward until he reached the side of the bed and was forced to sit on it.
Cielo was cornering him.
"It's not like that. I mean I want to experience how is it… you know… the..." Drey was losing his breath. No, he had actually held his breath, because Cielo's face was too close to his.
"So you are not sick and tired of me?" Cielo whispered.
"Why do I feel like we are still not moving any further?" she added that made Drey avoid her eyes as he answered, "What do you mean?"
"Our relationship… It's stuck at being Dice's parents. Can't we take it to the next level, as to being husband and wife physically like this?" Cielo whispered as she totally took over Drey's mouth, sealing it with hers.
Drey froze and fell on the bed, lying on his back, as Cielo sprawled on top of him.
He unconsciously grabbed Cielo's nape, as their kiss deepened.
It was hard for him to control his desires at that moment. He was a man after all, and he must admit, he was attracted to Cielo.
It was actually hard for him to sleep with her in the same bed, while Dice was in between.
