Drax looked at Taf as though he was truly an anomaly. How could a teen be this strong? He never heard such a thing before.

Sure there have been cases of genius being developed at eighteen or nineteen which were peak ninth stage cultivators.

However, they couldn't do what this youth could. He killed three ninth stage cultivators as though they were at the seventh stage in under three minutes.

The most frightening thing Drax realized was that this teen was at most fifteen. He admired the Dark Abylis Sect strength but he knew they definitely didn't rear such a devil-like genius.

Where the hell did they find this kid then?

He looked in Taf's eyes and all he saw was himself dead in the most grotesque manner possible. Right there and then he knew he was fucked.

For the first time in nearly a decade, his mind had frozen in fear. He was so frightened his ever-reliable brain started to fail him as other than his fail-safe and another undesirable option.

There was no other possible scenario in which he kept his life.

Neither of these options he wanted to employ as they would be serious losses in the future.

How he wanted to kick himself for truly pissing off this fiend the way he did. Now he lost three underlings that combined he had spent a significant amount of lqs on.

If he were to tally, their sum would be at least be 200k lqs. Taf seemingly bored twirled his long hammer around. With a wicked smirk plastered on his face he stated,

" Your death will be glorious in comparison to your minions, chubs."

Cold sweat profusely ran down the face of Drax when he heard the words uttered. He could just imagine what this fiend had planned for his fate.

Even the lord realm cultivator didn't make him feel a fraction of what this youth did with his presence.

" Wait, wait, wait.., Sir Mouse." Drax hurriedly spoke as Taf started walking towards him. Seeing he had gotten Taf's attention he once more quickly continued,

" It seems we got off on the wrong footing, for this, I sincerely apologize. It's an occupational hazard not aiming to kill your opponent before they get the chance to return the favor."

Drax nervously spoke as he assessed Taf reaction. Apparently trying to find a means to come to some rational agreement. However, there was not a hint of change in Taf's eyes. He coldly stared at the obese Drax as he uttered,

" Chubs do you know at this very moment you should be a corpse? See that means you are actually going against fate by breathing in air that is not meant for your consumption.

See, I'm fate's hand and they are becoming twitchy."

A chilly frost like feel coursed through Drax's spine as he heard the words spoken by Taf. He then tried to arrive at his point as quickly as possible.

" If you spare me I can offer you 500K in lqs!" He rushed saying. Taf had a hand to his cheek as he paused then replied with a bit of laughter in his voice,

Hehe!

"...but if I killed you I would receive this nonetheless. What's the purpose of keeping you alive in that case?"

Drax could see that not only was this youth before him powerful but he also was not one to be easily manipulated.

" Sir Mouse you appear to be a man that has quite the prospects for the future with such talents. Though I might not look it, my network spans quite the distance across Chu and a few countries to the eastern parts of the continent.

This network would become yours as you expand however you intend. Imagine having mercenaries at a transmission's call away. I would work to make my network span boundaries far and wide for you.

For instance, if you wanted someone gone in the country to the east called Zen. With the right Mercenary Corp and remuneration, they are already dead and buried."

That was the quickest Drax every got that many words out in such a limited amount of time during his life.  He waited for Taf's response who as before rubbed his chin.

Drax brought to the fold a prospect he never truly took into consideration. He was always one that liked to have as many cards in his hands as possible.

" Ok chubs it seems you've appealed to my virtuous soul and well, I might take you up on your proposal."

Taf smirked as he eyed Drax who felt that was a bit too easy. Wasn't it?  Then he heard the fiend once more continuing,

" Well, I'll accept your second condition that is but the first.., why do I feel offended with that offer?" Taf's words nearly made Drax spit blood.

He wasn't ok with receiving 500k for absolutely nothing, Who groomed this kid? Wolves!

Still, Drax knew he was on borrowed time so he called forth all the patients he could muster before addressing Taf with seeming sincerity.

" Sir Mouse this is a significant amount. Some peak ninth stage waited their whole lives to accumulate such a figure. Within a mere few seconds, I have made you a very rich man."

After speaking Drax waited for Taf's response who still played with the Hammer in his hand. Then he looked Drax then clarified a few things,

" Mr. Chubs, you should learn to phrase your words correctly when attempting to negotiate. Especially when you have little to no say in the matter.

You stated some people wait their whole lives to raise such wealth. Now in my ears, that means excluding you.

Tell me this, does a man in your possession values his wealth over his life? In that case, the mortician best have a huge table that can bear the weight of your dead corpse. You're seriously testing my patience."

With a flicker...

Not knowing when Taf appeared before him Drax saw an iron hand grasped around his thick throat. It tightened with a crushing sound.

No matter how he tried to move, he was stuck in place. He even felt a jolt of current coursing through his entire body as if searching. Without a second thought, he threw out a space pouch.

Seeing the pouch Taf then ran his senses through as inside he saw one million Qi stone. There was a mixture of low level and mid-level Qi stones.

Soon Drax felt relieved as Taf released him while he began to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead. Yet was Taf really that kind?

Bam!

An iron foot kicked him in his guts as he was sent flying. However, unlike his fallen comrades it was not as far as they went. Still, the pain he felt from his gut caused him to continuously vomit blood.

" You have bought your life and will as you say, do my bidding. Isn't this a joyous occasion? I love it when the two parties come out smiling."

Taf uttered satisfied with the contents of the pouch while he wore a saintly smile. If anyone saw him at this moment they would think what a lovely young man.

Drax, on the other hand, has never met a more ghastly teen in his life. He incessantly cursed Taf in his mind but still, he felt he came out quite well.

He then forced himself through gritted teeth forgoing the pain in his stomach uttering,

" Yes, Sir Mouse is quite right. This indeed a joyous occasion. This one is known as Drax. "

He flattered while introducing himself. In his mind, however, Drax had other ideas.

He would let him have his moment until he gets the chance. As he spoke Taf still had the same appearance as he smiled seemingly uncaring of Drax's motives.

He then gave his frequency number and took Drax's as a means to communicate in the future. To this Drax only laughed in his head.

" Before you go I have a question that would confirm my theory. Is Kathy's Killer among your ranks?"

Taf asked as a genuinely puzzled look began forming on Drax's face after hearing his question.

Who the hell was this Kathy this fiend mentioned? His reaction was noticed by Taf who still had his suspicions. He then continued,

" By your reaction, I guess that's a no.

Ok then answer me this, why would your employer a lord realm cultivator hirer mercenaries at the ninth stage of qi condensation to kill us junior from the Dark Abylis Sect."

This was the question that caused Drax to be truly struck into silence. He wanted to ask how this kid even knew about his employer.

What made it troubling was there was no seeming reverence in his words as though it was the most trivial of questions. Similiar to him asking for direction in a strange land.

This was one in the realm of lords who required reverence where ever they went. but he dared not utter a word.

Even if he wanted to utter a word to Taf at the threat of his life he couldn't disclose the employer.

To be continued...
